Chapter 661: Arlan’s Warning

"Have you thought about expressing it to Lucian?" Rowan asked, earning approving gaze from his brothers. "He seems to be a blockhead in this regard. Maybe, once you say it....There is nothing wrong if woman confesses her feelings first. You are not a typical woman to think for a man to make a first move..."

"No," Erin shook her head, "I know he doesn’t feel that way about me, and I do not wish to make things awkward between us when I am marrying his brother. After I tell him how I feel about him, if he still rejects me, how am I going to face him as his brother’s wife? Let things be the way they are," she said firmly. "After spending time with Aaron, I believe I will be fine with him. I am not an emotional fool but know how to think rationally."

"You have thought it all through," Rowan commented.

"Yes," she replied with determination.

Rowan looked at Euron and Rafal for their opinions.

"If you think you will be happy with Aaron, then we have no objection," Euron said, to which Rafal nodded in agreement.

"Just one thing is left, which I still want to happen," Euron added. "You have to go to the northeast and see if your body can stand the weather there. I would not accept no for an answer. I do not want my sister to end up like our aunt did. Father still has regrets about it, and I don’t want us three brothers to have any such regrets. We will protect you at all costs; you are the only sister we have."

"I agree with this as well," Rafal spoke, and Rowan nodded in concurrence.

"I will do as you say," Erin agreed, feeling a sense of relief as her brothers finally trusted her.

After coaxing her for a while and apologizing for upsetting her, the three brothers prepared to leave. Before departing, Rowan hugged her tightly and said softly, "I know you truly like him, but I trust you will be fine. You are my sister."

"I will be fine." Her eyes turned moist, but she managed a light smile. "I know you love me, but don’t be hostile towards Lucian. He did nothing wrong."

"Still caring for him?" Rowan chuckled softly, "I won’t be hostile, but I do hope someday he would regret his decision."

"His regret would leave us awkward with each other. It’s better he would stay the way he is," she replied.

Rowan patted her head gently, "You have always been a smart person, and we are always so proud of you. Aaron would be fortunate to have you by his side."

"I hope so," she replied with a smile.

The three brothers left her residence. Outside, Rowan commented, "I feel bad that she is hurt and there is nothing we can do. It’s the first time our sister liked something and she can’t have it."

"That something is a person with his own thoughts and emotions, not something you can just buy and give to her," Euron replied.

"We should trust her when she asked us to," Rafal added. "I’ve said it before: Aaron is a good man, just as Erin described him. He won’t restrict her freedom. She clearly has a skill for understanding people."

"Anyways, that blockhead can live in regret," Rowan muttered. "Our sister will be happy, as she has said."

"Don’t mention him again and again in front of Erin," Euron advised. "It’s not good to remind her of him when she has finally decided to be with someone else."

"Alright," Rowan agreed, though his eyes revealed his lingering doubts.

He still wished his sister could be with the one she liked for the first time. In her eyes, he could see how much she liked that man.

Somewhere far in the middle of the snowy mountains, a group of four, accompanied by a huge white wolf, landed amidst a snowstorm in the dark of night.

Oriana, held closely by Arlan, was shaking with cold.

"Don’t worry. Yorian has made arrangements, and you will be fine," Arlan assured her.

Yorian stood facing a particular spot on the mountain. He chanted a spell, and soon a small cottage appeared out of nowhere, lit up with numerous lamps and a fireplace.

"Let’s head in," Yorian said, leading the way.

As they walked closely behind him, Oriana realized that after crossing a certain point, the snowstorm ceased, and everything seemed calm and warmer than before.

"What happened?" she mumbled through chattering teeth.

"We are inside a small safe place created by Yorian’s magic. The snowstorm can’t affect it, and we can rest here until you feel better," Arlan explained.

They entered the cottage, and Arlan gently made Oriana rest on a small bed. He covered her with a warm animal hide. At the same time, Snowflake entered the cottage, climbed onto the small bed without being asked, and enveloped Oriana inside her furry body.

Arlan frowned at the wolf. "You are being bold, taking my place next to my mate."

Snowflake didn’t mind his words and instead rested her head on the bed, as if she was not going to leave Oriana’s side.

"She is warm," Oriana said, feeling comfortable with Snowflake’s presence.

"I can make you warmer, but this is not the place," Arlan spoke with displeasure, glaring at Snowflake. "Once I mark her, if you dare do this again, you’ll find yourself back in the demon realm."

Snowflake remained unbothered while Oriana laughed heartily, despite the cold stiffening her body.

"I’ll bring you something to eat and drink," Arlan said, walking out.

Oriana hugged her pet, feeling heavenly comfort. "Don’t get on his nerves, Snowflake. He can be really scary. I experienced it a while ago, and trust me, my bottom is still swollen and hurts while sitting. This Demoness is helpless in front of his anger and won’t be able to protect you anymore."

Snowflake simply nuzzled closer, offering silent comfort as Oriana sighed, finding solace in her pet’s warmth and loyalty.
