Chapter 51 - The Old Satan Faction

"Katerea Leviathan. Creuserey Asmodeus." I shouted evenly, staring down at the duo of devils standing at the bottom of the large wall I was standing on. The wall was partially destroyed, as there was a rather large hole splintering the middle of it.

I'd have to get that repaired soon.

[Ultimate-Class Devil] [Creuserey Asmodeus] - Level 400

Reputation with [Creuserey]: Neutral

The male one, Creuserey Asmodeus, was a rather plain-looking man. He had long black hair that was tied up in a topknot, a plain looking face, and was of average height. He was wearing a loose ornamental-looking cloak along with plain pants and a scarf.

[Ultimate-Class Devil] [Katerea Leviathan] - Level 500

Reputation with [Katerea]: Slightly Liked

The woman was a lot stronger than Creuserey, as Katerea was the highest level person I had met so far, aside from Tiamat. She was also breathtakingly beautiful, with a gorgeous face, brown hair tied in a ponytail, a curvy body, and smooth skin.

She was wearing a very skimpy dress, which could barely even be considered clothing. It was more of a strip of clothing that flared up around her neck in a collar, then trailed down into crossing strings that barely covered her massive breasts. It crossed back to cover her crotch then wrapped around her thick thighs and large behind.

There were also two white stockings on her legs and high-heeled shoes on her feet. Finally, she was holding a magical-looking staff in her hand.

"Beast King! You know who we are?" Katerea shouted up at me, a slightly annoyed look on her face, "Then why did you make us wait so long, huh?!"

Well, at least she knows my proper title. It seems word had gotten out.

"Sorry, sorry," I grinned under my helmet, making a 'come here' gesture, "Come on up. I'll gladly hear you out, descendants of the Maou."

"Well, at least someone-" Creuserey grinned, starting to float towards me with the leathery wings sticking out of his back.

"Do you think we're stupid?" Katerea lashed her arm out, stopping Creuserey as she glared at him lightly, "We can speak fine here, Beast King. Come down!"

Well, it seemed one of them was smart, at least. If they'd willingly walked deep into my territory with me, then it would've been all too easy to keep them there.

"Come down?" I mocked her lightly, "After you just blew a hole in my wall? You're not making a very good impression, Leviathan."

"I wouldn't have done that if you hadn't made us wait!" Katerea shot back with a huff, and I finally decided to let them off the hook.

I stepped forward, casually falling down the towering wall and landing in front of the duo of Maou descendants. The ground under me dented slightly from the action.

All around us was a large empty field, which stretched for as far as even my supernaturally good eyes could see. The same sight would've greeted me from any side of my territory, as it seemed no devil was brave enough to build anything anywhere remotely close to the Familiar Forest.

"Why are you here?" I said bluntly as I stared down the two devils.

"To make you an offer," Katerea answered, smiling at me as she composed herself, "We are here on behalf of the Khaos Brigade."

"An offer?" I hummed, though I suspected I already knew what it was.

"It was very impressive what you did yesterday," Katerea said bluntly, a slightly hungry look in her eyes, "You sent the Astaroth Clan into extinction in a single day, as well as having kidnapped the sisters of two Maous!"

"That's not an offer," I replied bluntly, [King's Aura] activating as Katerea took a step back, "Don't waste my time."

A thick tension filled the air at my words, and both of the devils tensed.

I wasn't actually upset about her praising me, but I also had no intention of playing nice with the two devils. I had no intention of joining or allying with the Khaos Brigade, so there was no need to entertain her.

"R-Right," Katerea shook her head, composing herself again, "I'll get straight to the point. We are the leaders of the Old Satan Faction branch of the Khaos Brigade, and our goal is to tear down those imposters who dare to call themselves Maou!"

"A goal it seems you share," Creuserey continued quickly with a grin, "Taking the imposter Lucifer and Leviathan's sisters as hostages was a great first move! Join our faction, and together we can throw out those fakes for good!"

Join their faction? Their naivety was almost cute.

Almost. It was more annoying than cute.

"Apologize," Was my blunt response, [King's Command] activating as the tension between us grew thicker.

"W-What?" Katerea growled, though she took another step back defensively at my words.

"What are you saying?" Creuserey said stiffly, his body tensing again.

"Join your faction? Me, a King, working under someone?" I chuckled lightly at the thought, "If you meant that I would take over as the leader, then perhaps it would be reasonable. Apologize, either for disrespecting me with such a request, or for wording your request stupidly."

I knew they wouldn't take well to my words, but I didn't intend for them to.

"Do you understand who you're speaking to? You dare to suggest that you would lead us?!" Creuserey took a step toward me threateningly, "Watch your mouth, you inferior-"

"Thank me," I said bluntly as I reached back, pulling out my sword and pointing the tip at his neck faster than he could react.

"W-What the hell..." Creuserey took a panicked step back as the sword suddenly appeared at his neck, glaring at me.

"Thank me," I repeated bluntly, "If I hadn't stopped you from speaking, then I would've been forced to kill you. Thank me for saving your life."

"You damn bastard," Creuserey growled, raising his hands as they started to glow with power, but stopped as Katerea put her arm in front of him.

"I understand why you're upset, Beast King," Katerea hummed, "That's my fault for giving you a bad offer. If you've made even the great Dragon King Tiamat your ally, it's fair that you would want your own branch in the Khaos Brigade. Become a leader of your own branch, and then we can still work together towards our shared goal!"

"Our goals aren't shared," I said bluntly, casually pulling my sword back to my side, "In fact, I'd say they're opposing."

The Old Satan Faction wanted to remove the current Maou so they could take over as rulers, but I had no reason to let that happen. The Underworld would be mine - not theirs.

"What?" Katerea looked at me confusedly, "You hate those fake Maou, do you not? We can work together to kill them!"

"I don't hate them," I replied, causing Katerea to look more confused, "I didn't kidnap their siblings because I hate them, nor did I destroy the Astaroth Clan as a slight toward Ajuka Beelzebub. If anything, they are just annoyances."

"A-Annoyances?" Katerea blinked at how I described the Maou's.

"Yes, annoyances," I repeated, "How would you feel if someone took what was yours, then went around parading it as their own? It would be annoying, right?"

"Of course," Creuserey intervened, "Which is exactly what those fakes did! We feel the same, so why are you acting this way?!"

"No, we don't feel the same," I shook my head simply, "You want to kill them for a measly title. What I want is something far more valuable."

"More valuable than the title of Maou?" Katerea looked at me like I was crazy, "What the hell are you talking about?"

"The Underworld," I said bluntly, "They claim a portion of the Underworld as their own to rule, but this entire world belongs to me. Whether it be a devil, a fallen angel, or any being of any race, they all belong to me. Whether they know it or not, every inhabitant of this world belongs to me. Everything belongs to me."

I knew the hunger in my gut would never be satisfied. I would continue to take more and more for myself until the day I died.

"You crazy fucker," Creuserey grunted at my words, "I think working with this guy is pointless, Leviathan."

"I agree," Katerea huffed, looking at me strangely, "He's insane. There's no reasoning with an insane beast."

"I think I'm very reasonable," I hummed, raising my hand and snapping my fingers, "You have neither apologized nor thanked me, and yet I haven't removed your head from your shoulders. But I don't think I'm kind enough to give you any more chances."

To my side, the form of Tiamat slowly formed as I familiar summoned her.

"I thought you didn't need me," Tiamat smirked as she appeared, ignoring the shocked and slightly terrified looks on Creuserey and Katerea at the dragon's appearance.

"I don't," I replied with a grin, "Just make sure they can't leave. I'll do all the rest."

Tiamat nodded, and her eyes glowed a bright blue.

"That was a familiar summon," Katerea spit out quickly, the genius magician glancing at Creuserey with a nervous look, "This is bigger than I expected. We must retreat, Asmodeus."

"Retreat? Do you have no shame?!" Creuserey glared at Katerea, "Even if there is a Dragon King, I won't let this inferior being's disrespectful words slide-"

He cut himself off as his hands jerked up, a purple barrier appearing as my sword slashed at his chest. His eyes widened in shock as the sword easily broke through the barrier, slashing into his chest.

Creuserey hissed as the sword cut through his clothes and skin, leaving a light trail of blood on his chest. His barrier was actually pretty impressive, as it managed to block my attack enough that his wound was shallow even with [First-Strike].

I had intended to take him out with one swing before he could use Ophis's snakes, but it seemed it wouldn't be that easy. Luckily, I had another trick up my sleeve.

Literally - as I casually flicked my free wrist, causing a small white scale to slide out a chink in my guantlet and fall into my palm, fitting in my hand next to the [King's Claw].

[C-Tier] [Sacred Treasure] [Baby White Dragon Scale] has been activated!]

[You will temporarily gain access to five skills!]

[Skills rented: [Singular Divide], [Singular Reflect], [Singular Reduce], [Flight], [Expunge]].

All of Tiamat's most powerful [Sacred Treasure]'s had been 'barrowed' by Ddraig in the past, who had then been sealed during the Great War. As a result, they were scattered throughout the world as they were stolen and lost throughout the many years.

But, that didn't mean Tiamat didn't have any [Sacred Treasure]'s. How the Dragon King had explained it to me was that to create a [Sacred Treasure] she needed a soul - and a willing soul at that.

She'd create a contract with someone, granting them power in exchange for allowing their soul to be sealed into a [Sacred Treasure]. The strength of the person whose soul was sealed would affect how strong the treasure turned out.

While most of her treasures were lost to time from Ddraig's actions, she had still managed to increase her hoard a good amount in the years since then. This one in particular, the [Baby White Dragon Scale], was one of the strongest ones she had, as it came from the soul of a Divine Dividing wielder.

I didn't know how Tiamat convinced the sacred gear user to form a contract with her, but I didn't really care either. All that mattered was that I had access to the abilities as long as I had the scale with me.

It was made with the soul of the sacred gear user, not Albion's, so it wasn't crazy powerful. But the user in question seemed to have been pretty powerful, as the treasure was a fair bit stronger than the [King's Claw].

I shot forward, using [Momentum Boost] to launch at Creuserey faster than he could ever hope to react before he could use the snakes. At the same time, I held up my free hand and used [Singular Divide].

It was much less useful than the Divine Dividing's ability, which allowed the user to continually divide an enemy's power and add it to their own. By comparison, this downgraded version just divided someone's power in half once, but I didn't get that power added to myself.

It was still useful but not overpowered.

But, combined with my already high stats, it was more than enough for Creuserey. He jerked up his hands as they glowed, but he was far too slow as his abilities were cut in half.

The momentum boost, combined with his slowed movement, allowed for my sword to slash through his neck in a singular instant.

The blade cut through his flesh like butter, and his head rolled off his neck before he could even mutter a word.

"A-Asmodeus..." Katerea's eyes went wide as she took a step back, staring in shock at her fellow Maou descendant being killed effortlessly.

"Do you enjoy your life, Leviathan?" I asked casually, flicking my sword to fling off the blood that had once been in Creuserey's neck.

"S-Stay back!" Katerea shouted nervously, raising her staff as she slammed the bottom of the staff into the ground. Her eyes went wide as she stared at the grass under her feet, watching as a teleportation circle didn't appear, "W-Why..."

"I asked you a question, Leviathan," I hummed, turning to her and taking a step forward, "Do you enjoy your life?"

"S-Stop!" Katerea shouted panickedly as black glowing snakes started to form around her body, "W-With the Dragon God's power, I can use the power of the original Leviathan-"

"Shut up," I said bluntly as [King's Command] flared up again. Katerea closed her mouth instinctively, glancing over to Creuserey's corpse, then back at me with wide eyes.

"I'll give you one chance," I said calmly, activating [Contract Making] as I stared her down.

[Valon] [Beast King] has offered a [Master-Slave Contract!]

[Master: Valon]

[Slave: Katerea]

Katerea's eyes went wide, her mouth opening as she felt the magic wash over her.

"Before you speak," I interrupted her, "I said one chance. Accept now, or you'll join your friend."

I pointed over at Creuserey lazily, and Katerea took another step back. She stared at me fearfully for a minute.

Then, slowly, she nodded her head, and a light glow surrounded her body.

[Katerea] [Ultimate-Class Devil] has become a [Subordinate]!

[Subordinate Tier]: [Slave]

I grinned widely.

It would be nice to have an insider in the Khaos Brigade.
