Chapter 137: Alistair vs Anastasia 3

‎"Did she just copy my move?" Damon stared slack jawed as the violent tsunami crashed into Alistair’s descending form with overwhelming might. "Uhhh, pretty sure it’s bigger and stronger than yours." Dion who stood beside him chimed him.

‎"Oh, really? I can’t see that." Damon rolled his eyes, muttering something about unfairness.

‎Meanwhile, the tsunami seemingly completely engulfed Alistair, but next the next moment,

‎BOOM!

‎Alistair broke out of the tide and appeared next to Anastasia and swept his the blade of his spear to her neck.

‎Bang!

‎Anastasia flew off her feet as she blocked the overwhelming blow with her sword. Alistair disappeared from his spot and appeared before her once more, and thrusted his spear at her while she was still mid air.

‎However just like before, Alistair’s figure suddenly slowed down a tad bit, but that little decrease in speed was able to buy Anastasia more than enough to twist her body mid air, and let the his spear pass by her side.

‎Then stepped onto his spear and suspended herself on it.

‎BOOM!

‎Using the spear as a foothold, Anastasia launched herself into the sky. At her highest peak, she raised her sword vertically before her and muttered in a soft voice.

‎"Stillwater severance." She traced a straight line downwards, or more precisely at Alistair’s figure. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

‎Even though nothing seemingly happened, Alistair’s instincts flared, and his body blurred to the side, and to the other end of the arena. The next moment, Boom! The earth split in perfect halves, forming into a canyon, and deepening the gorge that had formed from their earlier clash.

‎If Alistair had hesitated even for a moment, he would have been split in half just like the ground. The crowd held their breaths at the absurd display of power. While Damon had performed a similar feat, it wasn’t nearly as perfect, nor as effortlessly as what Anastasia had just done.

‎As Anastasia landed back on the other side of the canyon, two streaks replaced both Anastasia and Alistair with each streak blitzing through the air with blinding speed before suddenly colliding in a cacophony of cataclysmic force.

‎The tone of the fight had shifted, their power magnified tenfold, each clash sending shockwaves that made the air itself tremble.

‎The sheer intensity of their collisions shattered the the already devastated ground beneath them, jagged cracks spiderwebbing outward, and chunks flying with each impact.

‎Hardness met hardness, techniques met techniques, and yet, neither one of them gave an inch.

‎Their relentless assaults reverberated like crackling thunder, each collision causing the heart rate of many watching to quicken.

‎Alistair was currently enveloped in a golden glow, his Ability and techniques working in full force. Aether surrounded his entire body in a cloak of aether reinforcement, his gaze shifting with speed, rapidly changing the angle of his spear.

‎His arms moved like a rain of rockets, launching forward with speed, each impact causing a cacophony of explosions that rocked the space.

‎However, Anastasia was far from being left behind. Her figure radiated an intense shade of scarlet, her long vivid scarlet hair whipping behind her like formless waves. A palpable red aura enveloped her form, her speed effortlessly matching Alistair’s.

‎Hundreds of sparks flew as their weapons erupted into motion. Anastasia’s longsword swung with a deadly arc, while Alistair’s spear pierced forward with lethality.

‎Slashes met spear thrusts, each clash producing an intense wave of air that rippled outward from their epicenter.

‎The force of their strikes was so immense that the very atmosphere around them seemed to warp, the ground below further disintegrating under the pressure.

‎The air around them crackled and roared, the sheer force of their blows creating a vortex of energy that seemed to pull everything into their fierce battle.

‎In an instant, and in less than a minute this time, both their figures exhibited the speed and strength of a Theta rank. The watching spectators felt their scalps go numb, none of them wanting to believe the unbelievable scene that was playing out in front of them.

‎’They’ve only now eased into the battle.’ Damon watched with a grim disposition. Their battle wasn’t in anyway more destructive than that of Rose and himself, instead it was much intense. Damon knew that had he been watching the fight from his main body’s perspective, he would only be seeing streaks of gold and scarlet.

‎Alistair had never fought so intensely with another individual his age before. This was the first time he had exchanged blows with such intensity, at least with an individual his age. Usually, he only had a fight this intense when he sparred with his father, or quite recently, with his master.

‎Despite only two minutes having passed, Alistair could feel fatigue setting in. The intense clashes and some of the blows Anastasia got in shook his insides, his defense could only do so much as the damage kept on accumulating.

‎Anastasia’s condition meanwhile appeared completely different. There was no shred of fatigue on her figure. In fact, as time passed, she only seemed to become faster and faster, and her attacks becoming heavier.

‎Alistair could see the result should he continue this path. Despite the fatigue, Alistair had a small smile on his face. He was quite enjoying this battle. For a moment he even forgot about the revenge he promised to enact on Elsa’s behalf.

‎However, Anastasia was getting fed up a little. These clashes couldn’t continue forever; a change was needed.

‎A palpable blue aura abruptly spread across the blade of Anastasia’s longsword, its light blinding.

‎Alistair’s gaze sharpened, his golden aura spreading and enveloping his spear.

‎"Severing jet wheel."

‎"World thrust!"

‎Space-cleaving slash met world-piercing thrust, the collision unleashing a cataclysmic force that seemed to rock the very foundations of the pocket dimension.

‎The intense force of the collision sent Alistair and Anastasia shooting back in opposite directions. Both regained control over their bodies, Alistair’s gaze flashing with determination.

‎They performed mid-air spins in unison, their legs skidding across the hard ground as they landed.

‎Their gazes collided in the air, and the whole world seemed to slow as if anticipating the power about to erupt.

‎Anastasia abruptly disappeared from her spot, faster than even Alistair’s eyes could track. This time he truly lost track of her movement, not only him, among the first year’s present, none of them could keep track of her movement, including Damon.

‎Just as she abruptly disappeared, Anastasia abruptly disappeared by Alistair’s side.

‎The moment Alistair felt her presence, he wasted no time before acting.

‎Alistair’s knee slightly bent forward. His back leg straightened as his body leaned forward, before shifting all his power into his spear and swinging it towards Anastasia figure.

‎But alas,

‎Whum!

‎His spear only met empty air. Anastasia had seemingly disappeared from there and reappeared at his other unguarded side.

‎What Alistair didn’t know was that the moment Anastasia reappeared, and he started moving his spear to attack her, his body suddenly slowed as of he has entered something viscous.

‎Shiiing! Shiiing!

‎Anastasia swung her sword. An X shaped mark appeared on Alistair’s chest, before blood burst out in an X shape. Anastasia then kicked at Alistair’s chest with massive force.

‎Alistair could have sworn he felt his chest cave in as he flew briefly through the air, before stopping himself the moment he touched the ground. He did spat out a mouthful of blood though.

‎"What?!" The crowd went crazy. "She has drawn first blood!"

‎"Is the omega prodigy going to lose?" A girl muttered in concern.

‎"Heh, serves him right, crown jewel of this generation my ass." A boy next to her sneered.

‎Alistair meanwhile has wiped the blood flowing from the corner of his mouth and held his spear tightly with both arms, one near the butt end and the other closer to the middle, the spear tip aimed directly at Anastasia. His entire figure coiled like a serpent, Alistair’s gaze narrowed and fixed itself on Anastasia.

‎A moment of time passed, and they both muttered in unison, Anastasia cold but serene, and Alistair’s determined voice mixing:

‎"True severance."

‎"Final thrust!"

‎In the blink of an eye, Anastasia’s form seemed to blur and contort, an ethereal flash of movement that almost defied the laws of nature.

‎Her figure erupted forward like a streak of blue light tearing through the air with blinding speed. It was as if reality itself struggled to keep pace with her, the surrounding space warping and bending in her wake.

‎However, Alistair’s movements were just as deadly. With a calculated calm, Alistairs’s muscles coiled and tensed, ready to spring forth. His eyes narrowed, focusing intently on the oncoming strike. His body surged forward, his spear becoming an extension of his will.

‎The air around him crackled as his thrust shot out with blinding speed. The speed and power of the attack were such that the spear appeared to vanish and reappear in an instant, leaving a trail of golden light in its wake.
