The Elven Evolution: Starting With 1 Million SSSR Skills-Chapter 188: [] Delivery!
It was sunrise. The golden sun was peaking over the horizon, bathing the sky in a bright orange glow.
The air smelled great, the earthy smell that often accompanied rain, and a few birds were singing, while dancing atop tree branches.
Eliron was taking a relaxing morning stroll in the barony, accompanied by Yen who found everything amusing.
She would often make quick stops to sniff the flowers that seemed to be in abundance, and anytime they passed any small animal such as birds or squirrels, they would flock around her like she was some sort of fairy.
Tsukiko was also with them, but as usual, the gluttonous fox spirit refused to walk and was instead hitching a free ride on his head.
As for his other two companions...
Ash had taken permission to study the security structure of Kingsbridge, aiming to learn what he could from them.
While Artie just seemed to have vanished into thin air...
"I wish we could get this over with soon..." Eliron complained as they stopped at yet another flower garden.
They were supposed to heal the baroness immediately Yennefer dealt with the undead, but though the Baron seemed so eager to see his wife well, just as they began walking towards the catacombs, he collapsed...
The poor Baron’s heart wasn’t built for such levels of shock it seemed.
The sudden betrayal, the death of his closest aid and workers, coupled with the show of power was just too much for him to handle.
Thankfully, according to Yennefer, he was merely exhausted and would have not long term issues.
"You’re really raring to get to Donia aren’t you?" Yen asked as she brought a white rose to her nose.
"We have spent too long in Kingsbridge..." What had meant to be a short visit had spanned over a week.
"We have to get our goods from Donia and immediately begin cultivation, remember?"
Yen nodded. "Mmhm, I see why you are in a rush. But the time spent here is well worth it don’t you think?"
Eliron turned back to look at the sprawling estate. Although Kingsbridge was merely a barony, it was large enough to trump counties in grandeur.
"I guess you’re right."
What could have been a shallow relationship had grown into something far greater than that. Their accomplishments in Kingsbridge were surely enough to tip the scales when it came to the negotiation table.
He had even somehow made the baron’s son loyal to him.
Eliron offered Yen his hand. "That should be enough walking. Let’s get back to work."
She held his hand and then a portal cut right through the space in front of them, the two of them stepping right through it.
Once they stepped out, they were greated by a familiar blonde woman, in a very familiar location—the city of demons.
"You are much earlier than expected." Cassie smiled when she saw them. "But you are just in time! The goods just arrived."
She led them to a large crate that was neatly placed at the side of the room and tapped it. "Everything you requested is here."
Next to it were several sacks piled atop each other as well. While the crate was filled with weapons, the sacks were food, spices and other ingredients.
Eliron tapped the crate with a broad smile on his face. "Hehe, it looks like my little army is finally taking shape."
He could already imagine how they would look in brand new armour, and wielding new swords. That alone would be a huge morale boost.
"The finest quality available I presume?"
Cassie folded her hands across her chest and pouted. "Don’t you trust me?"
Then she laughed. "Just joking. Everything is in order." Cassie’s facial expression then shifted, her eyebrows creasing slightly.
"But are you sure you wanted it delivered here? I could organize a caravan to take it to Artaris, you know?"
Eliron shook his head. "There is no need for that."
Having a caravan journey to Artaris was problematic in many ways.
The monsters in the forest could attack the caravan and destroy the goods, plus there was a chance the High Elves had spies monitoring the old trade routes.
The roads were also in a deplorable state, actually, they didn’t even exist anymore, the first long claiming what was rightfully its.
"I’ll deliver it myself." Eliron said, while taking a step back from the goods.
<•••>
Back in Artaris...
Creak—!
Estelle suddenly stumbled into Eliron’s living room, her feet wobbly as she clutched the door frame to stop herself from falling.
"Damn it!"
She cursed through gritted teeth. Following Eliron’s orders, the knight and mage trainees had not relented during his absence.
In fact, their training had only grown more brutal, especially with Sabrina joining her to train them.
Sabrina was brutal... it was as though the woman did not know the concept of rest! And worse of all...
"Welcome back Estelle. I’ve cooked breakfast if you have the stomach to eat."
Sabrina was standing at the kitchen doorway, an innocent look in her heterochromatic eyes as innocent as they always looked.
She never seemed to tire!
’This she devil!’
"I need to bathe first."
’And probably throw up till I get delirious...’ Estelle thought as she slowly went up the staircase.
Sabrina sighed as she watched her go. "I wonder if she’s alright? She looked so pale..." she muttered.
Then suddenly, a black glassy rift appeared right in the center of the room.
"Huh?!"
Sabrina immediately entered the kitchen, grabbed the closest weapon, which was a cooking knife and went back to the living room.
"What is that—Lord Eliron??"
Her eyes widened in shock when she saw his head peak out of the portal.
"Shhhhh!" Eliron brought his hands to his lips.
He glanced around the room as though he was searching for something, and then his eyes finally stopped on Tiny who was sleeping by the side of the wall...
Sitting right atop dozens of Eliron’s clothes that he had ripped to shreds!
Eliron’s eyes narrowed as he watched the dragon. Then he nodded slowly.
Snap!
Suddenly, a portal appeared right in front of tiny, and a large crate as well as a couple of bags landed on his head.
KRYUUUUUUUU!
The wyvern immediately sprang his feet, his eyes landing on Eliron.
Kryuuu!
He dashed towards him, but the elven lord stuck out his tongue at the beast, just before vanishing into thin air.
Sabrina blinked, watching as the dragon screamed out in rage.
’What did I just see?’
<•••>
"Alright, I think we are done here." Eliron said, his voice filled with mirth as he closed the portal.
"Why did you close it so quickly? I wanted to see how Tiny was doing." Yen complained.
"He’s doing great, he’s just as lively as ever. Let’s be on our way shall we?"
Eliron summoned another portal and stepped in alongside Yen, waving at Cassie just before they vanished.
After a few seconds, Cassie glanced at her back. "They are gone now..."
A door creaked open and a figure calmly strolled into the room, her fingers gliding over a few items as she strutted towards Cassie.
Cassie turned around to face her, a small smile tugging at the corner of her lips.
"So what did you want to discuss with me?
"Lady Artie?"
Artie stared at her coldly. "Let’s start with a drink shall we? A nice, hot cup of tea should do."
