The Chaos Territory, during these past few hundred years, this incarnation of Lin Xiao had traversed domains in the tens of millions, encountering an endless variety of novel creatures and powerful beings. There were no less than a thousand entities whose might even compared to that of Powerful Divine Power.

However, only one or two terrifying existences that seemed akin to great divine power were encountered. After avoiding the area where a space similar to that of great divine power had first been encountered and no longer passing through, there was only one more encounter, which he suspected was a close call, and luckily he escaped.

This indicated that while there were indeed many great existences within the Chaos Territory, they were not so easily encountered.

Throughout these years, this incarnation of Lin Xiao wandered everywhere, having seen a million types of races and thousands of peers with similar strength, but he never came across his other incarnation. At one point, he began to doubt whether his other Golden Ancient Tree avatar was still existing.

That day, while flying over an ordinary icy sea space and reaching the other side covered by a thick layer of ice, he casually tore open the space and was greeted by over a hundred different spatial markers, each representing a separate spatial domain.

Within the Chaos Territory, spaces were tightly interconnected, with very little void in between. Compared to the chaotic flow of time within each divided space, the void between these divided spaces was the true chaos, far more disordered than within each space.

If the flow of time within each divided space varied in speed, with changes being somewhat gentle and occurring at lengthy intervals, the flow of time in the void between spaces was drastically exaggerated. Changes happened very rapidly, potentially fluctuating several times within a second; the time flow speed could shift from a ratio of one to ten in one second to an exaggerated speed of one to ten million in half a second, instantly reducing a mortal to ash.

In strict terms, this was an excellent place to study the Time Law, as staying here for a long time and feeling the active changes in time made it easy to grasp the Time Law.

Yet, aside from those with great divine power, nobody could stay here for very long.

It’s possible they might perish before they could grasp the Time Law.

Well, it’s not just possible, that’s how it is.

And those with great divine power or beings of the same tier had no need for it. After all, this place was simply where the Time Law was active, not the Origin of the Time Law. Any being with great divine power already had some understanding of time, was immortal, and with their power could create effects similar to the Surface Temporal Law. They did not need the Surface Time Law of this place; what they sought was the essence of time itself.

Those who could access it had no need, and those in need couldn’t access it—such was the situation in the Chaos Territory.

Lin Xiao randomly selected a space he had not visited before and forcefully tore into it.

The next second, he felt emptiness before him, and in front of his eyes appeared a Sky-reaching Storm Pillar that stood between the blue sky and fluffy white clouds. It pierced the Vault of Heaven directly, with various sizes of meteorites suspended in the middle of the storm pillar, and waves of indescribable fluctuations erupted from the center, spreading outward.

To Lin Xiao’s surprise, he discovered the waves emitted by the dozens of kilometers wide storm pillar that pierced the Vault of Heaven seemed to smooth over the chaotic temporal fluctuations of the Chaos Territory. Having entered for a short while, time in other spaces would normally have changed several times by now, but here, though time was still abnormal, it hadn’t fluctuated at all in this span of time.

He quietly stopped and waited for a full seven minutes before time changed once.

He stayed still and kept waiting until the seventeenth minute when time changed again. This meant that in this space, the timeline shifted every ten minutes, and the extent of change was much lower than in other spaces with no dramatic rises or falls.

Lin Xiao was immediately intrigued. If this were the case, this world seemed to be quite suitable for staying and comprehending the Surface Time Law.

Looking afar, the Earth and the sky were crystal clear. The height of the Sky-reaching Storm Pillar was uncertain, as he could only see swirling clouds below from his position and not the ground.

His gaze fell into the Sky-reaching Storm Pillar, and he faintly felt as if something was hidden within. That oppressive feeling lingered in his heart, refusing to dissipate.

He did not directly enter the Sky-reaching Storm Pillar. While he doubted anything hidden inside would be too powerful, he preferred to be cautious under unclear circumstances.

The stability of time in this space would certainly attract a large number of powerful beings to settle in this world after their arrival. If placed in their position, he would also stop in his tracks.

The top of the Sky-reaching Storm Pillar stretched into the Vault of Heaven, and one could vaguely see a cloud disk spreading like a vortex at an unknowable distance at the top of the pillar. That was likely the uppermost part of the pillar, while the depth below was obscured by swirling clouds. After a brief contemplation, Lin Xiao decided to fly up first.

More than ten minutes later, he reached the cloud disk at the top of the storm pillar, which lay flat against the dome of the sky; beyond that was the edge of the world.

Looking in all directions, other similar cloud disks were faintly visible in the far distance against the clear sky, indicating that this world contained more than one Sky-reaching Storm Pillar.

Passing through the berserk storm layer to enter it, he was immediately struck by a fluctuation he couldn’t explain. With his grasp on half of the Origin of Time, Lin Xiao’s eyes widened and a hint of delight appeared on his face, a mix of surprise and joy.

"A trace of the Origin of Time!"

With half of the Origin of Time under his control, he could immediately sense the Origin of Time contained within the fluctuations.

The moment he comprehended this, he flew towards the center of the storm pillar, finding nothing inside it, and plummeted downward through its heart.

Circumventing meteorites suspended in the storm, each shimmering with silver texture and continual flashes of lightning, he recognized them as unique mineral forms within the storm pillar, infused with the power of lightning. If he were at leisure, he might collect some, but now he had no time for that.

As he descended, there were more and more meteorites, and lightning of extreme power began to flicker within the storm pillar. The energy grew berserk, and its potency became more terrifying the deeper he went, quickly surpassing the limits of what mortals could withstand.

He didn’t know how many kilometers he had descended or how many times he had been struck, but after passing through a layer of electric nets formed by the lightning, the myriad bolts abruptly vanished, as if he had entered another world. Yet the pervasive static electricity in the void continuously inflicted damage on any being in this layer, posing a far greater danger than before.

Lin Xiao halted here, a serious expression on his face as he looked below.

There was nothing to see, just the omnipresent Lightning Power twisting the void, and even with his incarnation’s strength, he couldn’t see through it. However, he could distinctly sense a formidable threatening presence deep beneath him.

Without a doubt, there must be a powerful creature lurking within that could pose a threat to him.

With a mere thought, the omnipresent lightning energy in the void converged, quickly forming a giant Air Elemental wrapped in crackling lightning around its body.

Lin Xiao pointed a finger, and the enormous Air Elemental, whose strength surpassed that of typical legends and could be comparable to a Demigod, began twisting its form as it flew downwards.

In this environment full of lightning and storms, the Air Elemental’s power was greatly amplified, swimming effortlessly downward, with Lin Xiao trailing far behind.

Minutes later, after the Air Elemental had ventured some tens of kilometers away, a sudden bright light erupted below, followed by a blinding bolt of lightning that shot upward from below, enveloping the several-meter-tall Giant Air Elemental and forcibly erasing its existence.

"How powerful…"

As the dazzling lightning tore momentarily through space, Lin Xiao glimpsed a huge lightning ball hanging below the storm pillar, so bright that even he was dazzled by it. The continuous pulses that could suppress time emanated from that lightning ball.

"This is…"

Lin Xiao found his thoughts stalling and for a moment, didn’t know how to describe the entity below that seemed akin to an Air Elemental or an innate being with mastery over the rules of lightning.

He didn’t make any hasty moves, and after pausing briefly, he turned around and left, flying until he emerged from the edge of the storm pillar.

He was now beneath the lower part of the Sky-reaching Storm Pillar. Looking up, he could no longer see the cloud disk leading directly to the Vault of Heaven but rather layers of swirling mist. Further down was... an endless expanse of cloud layers and variously sized, intermittently visible Floating Islands suspended among them. The islands were scattered about, belonging to different planes, and spread outward centered around the Sky-reaching Storm Pillar.

Put simply, this was a world without a division between sky and Earth, akin to an empty balloon, filled with Floating Islands scattered around several Sky-reaching Storm Pillars.

The creatures within the storm pillar didn’t stray outside. Without understanding the specifics of this world, he hadn’t dared to take any direct action.

After all, if that lightning ball-like innate creature inside supported the existence of the Sky-reaching Storm Pillar, destroying it might cause it to collapse or the surrounding islands to fall, or the stability-enforcing aura that calmed the temporal maelstrom might vanish. Until he understood the space better, it was best not to act rashly, especially since the entity wasn’t going anywhere.

He flew down along the storm pillar until he neared the closest Floating Island. From afar, countless black dots swarmed around the island, enveloped by atmospheric clouds, resembling ants swarming a piece of bread.

Up close, the black dots were Thunder Wings enveloped by rings of lightning, similar to his girlfriend’s initial Clan.

The Floating Island wasn’t large, only around forty or fifty square kilometers, with clear mountains, serene waters, lush trees, thick vines, and even a small lake in the center. Approximately a few thousand Thunder Wings lived within the mountain range encircling the island.

Lin Xiao circled the island without alarming the Thunder Wings or a few even more powerful Ire Winged Men on it, and after his observation, he left for the nearest island. Along the way, many Thunder Wings traversed the tens of kilometers to another island, carrying prey, likely gathering food from other islands.

After surveying around fifteen Floating Islands of various sizes nearby, it seemed these Thunder Wings were one of the dominant forces in the vicinity. While numerous Other Races, including common ones like Beastmen and Goblins, also inhabited the neighboring islands, they were all prey for the Thunder Wings.

And this was just a portion within a corner surrounded by many Floating Islands around this particular Sky-reaching Storm Pillar, with more extending below and to either side.
