The Evil Lord's Wife Has Spirit Blood-Chapter 361
The arguing in the headmaster’s office could be heard in other offices in the council building, so even though the door was closed, some gossipy teachers came to the door to listen.
Michelle could sense them, and knew the story of what happened would soon spread amongst most teachers.
Vincent also sensed the teachers.
After living with Ana Ostrich by his side for years, he got sensitive to presences.
But he pretended not to notice because he knew that was part of Michelle’s plan.
Even the whole argument between him and her was partially.
He didn’t expect it, but he understood why she did it.
So he played along.
In reality, he had no reason to be angry at her.
That wouldn’t be the case even if her relationship with Alexander was scandalous.
She wasn’t his real daughter and could do as she liked.
And since he agreed to the plan, he was also agreeing to create chaos, both in the academy and the Ostrich Family.
"Enough!" Francis couldn’t listen to Michelle and Vincent arguing.
He didn’t like arguments.
As the headmaster, when he raised his voice, barely anyone dared to retort back, so he wasn’t really confronted with arguments all that much.
And when there was a disagreement with the teachers, most of the time, it could be solved without directly arguing.
But Vincent was his brother and Ana his niece.
When they were arguing, he really didn’t know how to step in.
After Francis raised his voice, Vincent shut his mouth.
He was well aware that his brother hated arguments.
Michelle grumbled something under her breath, but also stopped shouting.
With silence back to the room, Francis rubbed his temples, clearly exhausted.
"So, what do we do with this...?" the question was meant for Vincent.
Vincent wanted to answer, but Michelle beat him to it.
"He stays here with me!" she grabbed Alexander’s arm.
Francis raised his gaze to look at her, not knowing what to do.
"Why don’t you call him by his name?" he suddenly asked.
The whole time since Alexander appeared in the academy, Michelle had not once called him by his name, naturally only in front of the teachers.
Also, Alexander didn’t tell them his name.
All they knew about him was the surname Terce that was written on the letter.
Michelle narrowed her eyes at the question.
"The likes of you don’t deserve to know his name..." her voice was an icy hiss.
The discussion in the office continued, but already much calmer.
For quite a while, Francis wanted to come up with a method to make Alexander leave without Michelle going along with him. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
But that was until he realized that Alexander’s power was much higher than he had initially thought, and his relationship with Michelle was much more serious than he would have guessed.
He realized it when he asked Alexander how he knew Michelle’s life was in danger when she was drowning.
Alexander’s answer was that he sensed it.
For someone to be able to sense if someone’s life was in danger, they had to be in some kind of pact or bond.
But Ana Ostrich was well known to have little spirit energy, only reaching the Divine rank; to form a functioning bond which would let them know of each other’s life and death, the other party would have to have the power of someone from the heavenly realm.
Realizing that, Francis understood he couldn’t just drive Alexander away.
And it would also benefit the academy greatly if he could keep him around, maybe as a teacher.
So, after that moment, Francis started probing into Alexander’s abilities, but Alexander remained quite secretive about it.
He could guess what was going through the headmaster’s head, and he wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of having the answer.
Also, since the situation in the office went calm, and nobody was shouting anymore, the gossipy teachers couldn’t hear anything outside and left.
But that didn’t mean the rumors wouldn’t spread.
They heard the shouting, and put two and two together, concluding that Ana Ostrich had a secret lover.
But they didn’t know who it was, and that was exactly what Michelle wanted.
The news spread quickly amongst the teachers, and the big mouths even told their direct disciples.
So it didn’t take long for even the students to know that the second headmaster’s daughter had a secret affair with an unknown man.
Most people didn’t care about it.
With how little presence Michelle carried, even if that wasn’t the only story spread about her, they weren’t really concerned.
Most didn’t even know what she looked like.
But the Ostrich Academy also had some students who were children of the Ostrich family, and they knew the rule that the children would have their engagement and marriage decided by the family.
Ana Ostrich defying that was a big deal to them.
And to some, an opportunity to get her into trouble.
Namely three people: Andrew Ostrich, also known as Andy, and the two sisters who had already once tried to plot against Michelle and ended up punished by it.
They were still bitter about having to run behind the carriages on their own two feet, because after that, they were so exhausted and their legs so blistered they couldn’t walk for quite a while.
So, once those three found out, they started plotting.
Andy informed his father, Andrew Ostrich senior, who in turn informed the man he was plotting together with to go against Vincent; Vincent’s enemy and the one who had Andrew drown the real Ana Ostrich.
In the meantime, the two sisters informed their own father, an Elder of the Ostrich family, demanding he made sure Ana, Michelle, was punished once she returned from the academy.
So, it was in no time that even the family head knew of Ana Ostrich’s so-called scandalous affair.
Michelle herself didn’t know the story would spread that quickly.
She didn’t bother thinking about it.
She just knew it would spread, and that was what she needed.
While the gossip was spreading, Francis tried to subtly suggest to Alexander that he become a teacher of the academy.
But just as he subtly suggested it, Alexander subtly rejected it.
Neither of them said it out loud, but the implications behind their words showed what they meant quite clearly.
Seeing he wouldn’t be able to convince Alexander, Francis turned his attention back to Michelle.
"Ana, when you got out of the cube’s space, do you remember seeing the cube somewhere? It’s one of this academy’s vital training tools."
Michelle nodded.
"It got crushed," she said it like it didn’t mean anything.
Francis nearly choked on his own breath when he heard that.
"Crushed?" he got out of himself.
"How did that happen?" he added.
Michelle glanced at Alexander, that single look explaining everything.
Seeing that, Francis frowned at Alexander.
"You broke the tempering cube?"
Alexander shrugged.
"That thing was basically useless anyways."
"It’s a valuable training tool!" Francis was clearly angry.
Alexander arched his brows, his sinfully handsome face suddenly so scary Vincent standing behind Francis didn’t dare breathe too loud.
"This valuable training tool of yours is so great, that when someone enters its space, anyone can kidnap them and throw them into a deadly space. That’s how your academy works? By putting your students in danger?" His voice was icy and lowered, making Francis highly uncomfortable.
But at the same time, he felt just how powerful Alexander was, making him even more determined to get Alexander to stay in the academy.
"It doesn’t matter what you think about the tempering cube, since you broke it, you should compensate the academy!"
Alexander’s eyes went completely cold, and that was genuine.
One of the things he hated the most was when someone insignificantly weak was being arrogant around him, trying to force him to do something he didn’t like using their own morals.
Alexander had no plans to compensate the academy for breaking the tempering cube.
The only one who could make him do something like that was Michelle, and she didn’t say anything about that yet.
"And how does the headmaster want me to compensate the academy?" Alexander leaned on the armrest of his chair, his gaze locked on Francis.
If gazes could kill, Francis would have dropped dead and cold to the ground with no way to save him.
Francis could feel Alexander’s killing intent, and knew not to anger him any further,
But at the same time, he was nearly sure that what he would suggest next could interest Alexander.
Especially if he really cared about Michelle like it seemed.
"Sir Terce, you are a powerful person. How about staying as a guest teacher in the academy for a while? That will not only clear your debt, but you will also be able to keep an eye on how we take care of the students and stay near Ana." Francis suggested.
Hearing that, Michelle’s eyes narrowed in a smile.
She had been waiting for that to be said.
Turning her head at Alexander, she waited for his response.
But instead of answering, Alexander turned to her.
"Should I become your teacher?" he showed a careless, teasing smile, reaching out to brush his hand over Michelle’s cheek.
