The Extra Who Shouldn't Exist-Chapter 370 : Alicia’s new ways of torture
As Alex, Alden, and Azrael stepped out of the portal into the room, Serena and Reynard immediately put their guards up.
Their hands twitched toward their weapons, eyes narrowing at the sudden intrusion.
But as their gazes landed on the three, recognition dawned, and they let out deep sighs of relief.
Serena yelled, smacking Alden and Alex on the head. "You guys almost scared me to death! What were you trying to do—give me a heart attack?!"
Alden pointed at Alex. "It was this sick freak who said to take him where my sister was. Blame him, not me, okay?"
Alex’s eye twitched. "I said no such thing."
Serena looked at him teasingly. "Of course he’ll be worried about the person he’s going to spend his life with."
Suddenly, Alex grabbed Serena’s hand, locking eyes with her. "If you want, I will also not hesitate to spend my life with you."
Serena blushed deeply. "Oh my, you really are such a tease, Alex."
Reynard yelled, "Hey! Keep your hands away from her, you brat!"
Alden’s mouth fell open.
Azrael just shook his head from side to side, as if he was already used to it all.
Serena laughed out loud. "Alright, alright, that’s enough joking around."
Alex grinned. "I wasn’t joking. But if that’s what you think, then it can’t be helped."
Serena paused, her expression softening. "You’re not hurt, right?"
Alex smiled reassuringly. "I’m fine. Don’t worry about me."
He looked toward Alicia. "How is the fatty doing? I heard she pushed herself too much."
Serena’s expression became a bit solemn. "She really pushed herself too hard. Her fever’s not going down.
"But the doctor said she’ll be fine. There’s nothing to worry about."
Alex walked near Alicia’s bed and gently touched her cheek. "She really is a careless bum, isn’t she?"
Alden snorted. "Look who’s talking about careless—’Alex Dragonheart,’ the king of carelessness."
At that, all of them began laughing at Alex.
Alex’s face turned beet red.
For the first time, he had no retort. So he said the only thing he could.
Looking toward Alden, he muttered, "Well, at least I’m not as ugly as you."
Alden’s eyes widened. "What did you say?!"
Serena sighed, shaking her head from side to side as she grabbed Alden and Reynard. "Let’s leave the lovebirds alone. I’m sure he has lots to say."
Reynard’s mouth twitched. "Do you really want me to leave my baby daughter alone with him in a room? That’s not gonna happen. I may approve of him now... but it’s still a long way before I’ll leave him alone in a room with her."
Serena grabbed Reynard’s ear, dragging him forcefully along as he winced in pain. Alden and Azrael followed them out.
After that, Alex was left alone with Alicia.
Inside his mind, he said, ’Partner, check her condition.’
Golden light engulfed her whole body, soft and warm like sunlight filtering through leaves.
The system reported, [Nothing much. It’s just that using all that power has put her body under too much strain—like never before. We can fix her up using life energy.]
Alex nodded.’ it’s a relief there is nothing serious.’
[But what’s astonishing is that right now I’m detecting some energy signatures on her that are close to the divinity of a god. Which is weird—it’s the first time I’ve seen something like this on a mortal who isn’t an avatar.]
Alex frowned. ’What do you mean by that? Is someone after her?’
[Well, it’s more like that special physique of hers is like a vessel that can hold an astronomical amount of power. As if...]
Alex’s eyes narrowed. ’As if?’
[As if someone has deliberately gifted that physique as a blessing, even though they knew it will be more like a curse to her as she cannot fully control her powers at all.]
Alex sighed. ’Take a record of that energy signature. So if we can identify the person it belongs to, we’ll know if we ever come across him.’
He looked at Alicia’s face. ’Looks like I’ll have to ask Zarvok to teach her how to control her powers. He’s the one most knowledgeable about divinity on this planet.’
Then Alex said in a low voice, "Okay, now use life energy to heal her. Since we also have life affinity now, it won’t use up much energy either."
Life energy flooded into Alicia’s body, a gentle green glow spreading from Alex’s hand through her veins.
Her expression slowly became peaceful. Her fever went down rapidly as her condition normalized—color returning to her cheeks, her breathing steadying.
She started opening her eyes... slowly.
Her gaze landed on Alex.
Alex said in a low voice, "Hello there, fatty. Dr. Dragonheart is at your service—if."
Alex wasn’t even able to complete his sentence.
Suddenly, Alicia grabbed Alex’s head and kissed him without any warning, taking him completely by surprise.
Alex didn’t resist.
Their lips met passionately, soft at first, then deepening as warmth and relief intertwined. Her hands tangled in his silver hair, pulling him closer, while his arms wrapped around her back, careful but firm.
Alicia started to sit up from the bed, the kiss growing fiercer.
But she suddenly groaned in pain and broke the kiss.
"Ahhh, my whole body’s hurting," she gasped.
Alex started laughing. "You shouldn’t push yourself too hard right now. You just woke up."
Alicia pouted. "But... but—"
"Don’t worry," Alex said softly. "I’m not going anywhere. I’m here, so get better. I’m gonna take you on a date after that."
Alicia’s face lit up like a kid’s. She grabbed Alex’s collar despite the pain. "Really?"
It became harder for Alex to breathe. "Yes, yes. I even resigned from my position as king to spend time with you."
Alicia kept shaking him. "You’re telling the truth, right? Because if you’re not, I’ll break your legs, put you on a wheelchair, and take you with me forcefully if I have to."
A chill ran down Alex’s spine as he said.
"Where do you even get all these new ideas to torture me every damn time?"
As she said smiling."Thats a trade secret."
"But answer me first is it a yes or not?" Alicia demanded. "I risked my life for those stupid people because of you."
Alex hugged her tightly. "Yeah. I’m really proud of you for that."
Alicia smiled, clutching him tightly.
Alex said quietly, "I also have something important to talk to you about."
Alicia looked up at him. "What is it?"
