The Extra Who Shouldn't Exist-Chapter 377 : A moment of peace (4)
Suddenly Alex looked toward Thalion. "King Thalion, can you also do me a favor?"
Thalion nodded immediately. "As long as it’s within my power, I will."
Alex smiled. "Good. I want you to tell everyone that tomorrow is gonna be a huge banquet in the Avaloria Empire."
"To celebrate the victory—and also because I have something important to announce."
Thalion replied, "I will come. Don’t worry."
"Yes," Alex said. "I want you to come."
"But the favor I want to ask you is to also inform the rulers of the other nations to attend."
"There’s also gonna be an important meeting that will be beneficial for all of you."
Thalion assured him, "Don’t worry. I will inform them all."
Alex grinned. "Well, I appreciate that. It’s too much work to invite them myself."
Elaria snorted. "As lazy as you are, I figured you’d say that."
Alden nodded. "She’s right about that."
Ethan agreed too, crossing his arms with a faint smirk as if this was entirely expected.
Alex shrugged. "I just rely on smart work, unlike you guys."
Suddenly Alyssa said, "Looks like everyone is here."
A group of people arrived, including Serena, Lily, and Tania. Their presence filled the space with a relaxed, almost familial atmosphere, the tension of war finally giving way to relief.
Alex looked toward them all. "What about the others?"
Serena answered, "They already left using the teleportation circles."
"They had so much work left to do. They can’t remain here now that Avaloria was rebuilt."
"What about Alicia , Evelyn, Ava, and Draven?" Alex asked.
"Alicia’s also recovered quickly and left with them," Serena explained.
Serena continued, "No one stayed. Draven was worried about his research."
"Ava left with Alicia and Evelyn to take care of the soldiers who got injured during the war."
Alex sighed. "Is that so, huh." His voice carried a hint of exhaustion beneath the calm.
Suddenly Tania came forward.
She touched Alex’s face gently. "So you’re Alex, huh... My, my, you are even more good-looking up front."
Alex blinked. "Sorry, do I know you?"
Tania smiled. "I’m Ethan and Evelyn’s mother."
Alex nodded. "Oh, that’s why your appearance seemed familiar."
"I have to say, you’re quite beautiful."
Suddenly Ethan stepped in front of Tania. "Mother, stay at a distance from this scumbag."
Alex smirked. "What did just you say, lizard man?"
"Did you not hear me?" Ethan snapped. "I will say it again—scumbag."
"Want to... go?" Alex challenged.
"Come on then," Ethan said.
Lily came in between them. "Take me home before I beat up both of you."
Both Alex and Ethan straightened instantly. "Yes, ma’am."
Alex flicked his fingers.
A portal opened up beside him, swirling steadily, as the space tore open.
He gestured everyone toward it.
One by one, everyone entered.
Alex remained last.
He looked toward Aeliana. "I will really miss you."
Thalion yelled, "Just go now!"
Suddenly Elaria said, "Wait!" and came running, her footsteps quick and determined.
Alex turned. "What?"
She suddenly grabbed Alex’s face, her hands warm against his face as cupped it, and planted a kiss on him, leaving him stunned. There was no hesitation—just impulse and courage. Her lips pressed against his firmly, soft yet resolute, lingering longer than anyone expected.
For a brief moment, the world seemed to pause, the noise fading as warmth spread through his chest. Her breath trembled slightly, betraying her emotions, before she finally pulled away.
Then she broke it and instantly kicked him inside the portal.
The portal closed behind him.
Aeliana and Thalion’s mouths hung open.
Aeliana burst out laughing. "Kyaaa—that’s my girl!"
Thalion couldn’t believe Elaria had done that.
Elaria looked toward Aeliana, cheeks flushed. "Just like you told me—I didn’t wanna have any regrets."
Aeliana hugged her tightly. "Come here, baby. I’m so proud of you."
Thalion just sighed, not even knowing what the hell was going on.
---
Meanwhile—
On the other side of the portal, Alex found himself inside the royal palace of Avaloria, the familiar grandeur greeting him.
He touched his lips. "Damn... caught off guard again. What the hell."
"These girls sure know how to give someone a surprise kiss."
Suddenly a voice came from behind. "What kiss?"
He looked back.
Lucas was standing there.
Alex grinned. "Good. I was just about to meet you."
He continued, "We are gonna throw a huge banquet tomorrow in all of Avaloria. So arrange it for me."
Lucas’s mouth twitched. "That’s why you wanna meet me?"
Alex smiled. "I’m just teaching you how to become a good king. These are free lessons."
"More like dumping all your work on me," Lucas muttered.
"Declare a holiday in Avaloria," Alex added. "And make it a day of celebration."
Lucas sighed. "Alright, alright. I will do it."
"Good," Alex said.
"Also, one more thing."
"What is it?" Lucas asked.
"Tomorrow is an important meeting with all the other monarchs, and I’m gonna declare you the king tomorrow. So be prepared, okay?"
Lucas swallowed hard. "Alright."
Alex patted him on the back—loudly. "Don’t worry. You’re gonna represent me. So be confident."
Lucas nodded his head.
After that, Lucas took his leave.
Suddenly Alex said in a low voice, "Erwin, come forward."
From the shadows, a man materialized suddenly.
He looked to be in his late thirties, lean and sharp-eyed, dressed in dark robes.
Alex’s tone turned serious. "What about the work I have given you?"
Erwin bowed slightly. "With the support of all the other nations’ intelligence units, we were able to find out almost all of the cult’s hideouts and burned them to the ground."
"Good," Alex said. "And what about Marcus?"
"Your Majesty," Erwin replied, "so far we are trying everything we can to find him, but there is no information about him. As if he has disappeared."
"Good work," Alex said. "Keep looking."
Erwin bowed deeply.
Meanwhile, Alex thought, ’Marcus that old man... where the hell is he hiding?’
He sighed. "Whatever. I’m gonna dump him on Ethan too."
"For now, it’s time for me to enjoy myself to the fullest. Let’s start with my date."
