Chapter 401: Chapter 402 : The Asura Queen (2)

"He was also her father—the very man who had cast her out to survive on the streets, the one responsible for turning her life into a living hell."

Silence crashed down like a hammer.

"He prayed to me."

"Begged me on his knees."

"For a weapon strong enough to kill her."

Alex let out a low breath, processing.

"And you complied with his request... didn’t you?"

Hephaestus nodded slowly, the admission heavy.

"Yes."

"I did. I had no other choice. I was the chosen god of that world."

Hephaestus leaned back slightly against the anvil, his tired eyes dimming further in the forge’s gloom.

"That world was my responsibility," he said in a low voice, guilt threading every word. "I had to do something."

"And so I did."

He exhaled slowly, his chest rising wearily.

"Killing her was almost impossible."

"Her body could be destroyed, flesh rent asunder."

"Her armies could be crushed under divine wrath."

"But her soul..."

His gaze darkened, haunted.

"It was something else entirely—eternal, defiant."

"So I created seven weapons."

Alex’s eyes sharpened, leaning forward intently.

"Seven?"

"Seven weapons capable of tearing apart a soul itself," Hephaestus continued, his voice measured. "Each forged with divine law etched into their core, glowing runes of unmaking."

"They were not meant to cut flesh or bone."

"They were meant to shred existence, unraveling essence."

"And when the moment came..."

His jaw tightened, reliving the cataclysm.

"It worked."

He lifted his head slightly, resolve flickering.

"The strongest warrior in that world... the Heavenly Demon..."

"The girl’s father."

"And six other heroes chosen from across the continents, legends in their own right."

"They rose together to stand against her."

"The Asura Queen."

The forge seemed to darken as he spoke her title, embers flaring uneasily.

"A war of carnage began, shaking the world."

"Mountains were shattered into dust clouds."

"Oceans split, tsunamis raging inland."

"Cities evaporated under her power, reduced to glassed craters."

"She fought alone against them all."

"And still she managed to kill four of them, their blood fueling her fury."

Alex let out a low whistle, genuine awe creeping in.

"Impressive."

Hephaestus ignored him, lost in the tale.

"Four heroes died, but they had completed their task."

"She was not invincible."

"She was injured."

"Grievously, as black blood poured from wounds that refused to heal due to the weapons I created."

"The remaining three..."

His voice grew heavier, finality settling.

"They tore her apart in her injured state."

"They used the weapons I created for them."

"And they tore her soul apart, fragmenting it like shattered glass."

Alex listened quietly, the gravity sinking in.

"Her corrupted soul was divided."

"Sealed away."

"Trapped within the seven weapons, bound by my laws."

Silence lingered, the forge’s distant hammers mocking the quiet.

Alex crossed his arms, piecing it together.

"Let me guess."

"You never managed to recover all of them."

Hephaestus narrowed his eyes, unsurprised.

"How did you know?"

Alex laughed softly.

"Nothing. It just felt like the cliché move of a useless god."

A vein bulged on Hephaestus’ forehead, irritation flashing.

"Just shut up and listen."

Alex raised both hands in mock surrender.

"Alright. I’m listening."

Hephaestus continued, undeterred.

"You humans have insatiable greed."

"Greed for power that can never be satisfied."

"And that is exactly what happened next."

"I was only able to recover four of the seven weapons. And when I sent someone to recover the other three..."

"The remaining three were reported missing."

"By the families of those heroes, their voices dripping with false sorrow."

Alex smirked faintly.

"They lied."

"Yes," Hephaestus said coldly. "They lied."

"They coveted the Asura Queen’s power."

"They believed they could harness it."

"Control it."

"Make it their own, bending its curse to their ambition."

"Every single one of them died."

"Madness claimed their minds first."

"Corruption twisted their flesh."

"Their bodies rotted from the inside, their souls devoured."

He clenched his fist weakly.

"But even after that grim lesson..."

"The remaining three weapons vanished into legend."

"I searched everywhere."

"Across realms, piercing veils between worlds."

"I could not find them."

Silence settled in the forge, heavy as molten lead.

"So," Hephaestus continued, resolve hardening, "I used the four I had recovered."

"I forged them together in this very fire."

"And I created the weapon that was meant for you."

His eyes met Alex’s, fierce and pleading.

"A weapon that can kill gods themselves."

Silence reigned as Alex’s mouth hung open for a moment.

Seeing that, Hephaestus smiled faintly.

"But only if it is wielded by someone capable of harnessing its power to its fullest potential."

He paused, emphasis deliberate.

"My final creation."

"A godslayer."

Alex’s expression shifted slightly, intrigue deepening.

"But the moment the four fragments of her soul were reunited—"

Hephaestus’ voice dropped, ominous.

"She went berserk."

"The soul fragments resonated as they came together, singing a dirge of vengeance."

"They called out to each other as she began recovering."

"And finally, she came back."

"The Asura Queen."

"As soon as she regained awareness..."

"She knew everything."

"I was the greatest reason she ended up like that."

"She held a grudge."

"A deep one, eternal as her curse."

"But she was incomplete, fragments still lost."

"She could not kill me in that weakened state."

"So instead..."

"She began killing my followers."

"One by one, methodically."

"And searching for the remaining parts of her soul, drawn by their pull."

Alex tilted his head.

"But why does it look like she’s working for the leader of the Fallen Angels?"

He went silent, gears turning.

Realization slowly dawned on him.

Lina glanced at him, a knowing smile playing on her lips.

"Looks like you found the answer."

Hephaestus nodded gravely.

"The leader of the Fallen is immensely powerful."

"Even more than you, for now."

"I suspect he possesses one of the remaining weapons."

"One that contains a fragment of her soul."

"And she wants it back."

"So perhaps she made a deal with him."

"Or perhaps she is using him as a pawn."

"I do not know the full truth."

"She is insane now."

"No one truly understands what goes on inside her fractured mind after her return."

Silence filled the forge once more.

Alex finally broke it.

"So you’re saying..."

"You made a killing machine."

"Who has partnered up with your greatest enemy..."

"To kick your own ass?"

Hephaestus nodded slowly.

"Yes."

Alex burst into laughter.

He laughed so hard his face turned red, his shoulders shaking.

"That’s incredible."

Hephaestus’ face turned red, his temper flaring.

"She is also looking for you too lucifer " the god said irritably.

"She obviously knows."

"I made her for you."

Alex’s laughter faded.

Hephaestus continued bluntly.

"She said she would cut off your balls."

"And feed them to you."

"If she ever finds you."

Lina burst into laughter, covering her mouth.

Alex’s mouth twitched, caught off guard.

"Alright. Alright. That’s enough."

Alex cracked his neck slowly.

"I’ll show her who the boss is."

He turned toward Hephaestus, his eyes blazing.

"Send me to their next point of attack. My waepon is in need to learn some proper manners. How dare she disrespect this wonderfull owner of hers."

A slow smile spread across the dying god’s face, grim satisfaction gleaming.
