It wasn’t until I felt the system light glowing right in front of my face.

[Arrive by: 8:50 AM]
"What. I’m sure it’s early in the morning, no?"
I squinted over at the clock beside my bed, just to be sure.
"7:55 AM."
Oh fuck…
My entire body jumped out of the bed and I landed face flat on the floor.
Ouch
I barely had any time to make it there, and it was a long road to Aethel Academy, the place was at least an hour away.
WHOOSH!
I threw on the clothes my mother had laid out for me, and quickly all the fabric flew in nicely as I dressed.
Then lunged for the window, flinging it open.
Without hesitation, I leaped out, hitting the ground running toward Aurean City.

"Francine! We’re gonna be late!" Marcus Renfield’s voice was a mix of concern and bewilderment as he hurried alongside her, his long strides keeping him barely at pace.
"I’m aware,"
Francine replied coolly, maintaining her composed demeanor despite their brisk walk toward the academy grounds.
She deliberately cut it close every time to avoid the pre-exam chaos, but it seemed to unnerve Marcus each time.
"What happens if—?"
"The gates will close, but only once we’re inside. Don’t worry; you’ll be fine."
They reached the main office with seconds to spare and handed their credentials to the attendant, who processed them with a slight nod of recognition.
As they exited toward the second set of imposing front gates, Francine spotted a familiar figure waiting for them—Luna Sky.
"Princess Francine, Sir Renfield," Luna greeted with a polite bow, her light blue hair catching the morning sun.
[3rd Year: Luna Sky - Representative of the Student Council - Role: Cultural Ambassador]
"I was concerned with the time. The gates will be closing in a minute, but rest assured, I’ll ensure you get through without trouble."
Francine nodded curtly yet gratefully.
"Thank you."
With Luna’s assistance, they slipped past the closing gates just in time.
Ahead lay a sea of hopeful candidates gathered around an elevated stage.
Marcus surveyed the scene nervously. "Quite a crowd," he noted as they stopped at the back of the throng.
"There are over two thousand candidates here. Only five hundred will pass."
Marcus’s eyes widened in shock.
"That many?"
"It’s always like this. Aethel Academy is unmatched when it comes to these things."
Before Marcus could further lament their distant position from the stage, a commotion erupted behind them.
"Hey, stop him!"
Francine and Marcus turned just as the gates sealed shut.
THUD!
A shadow flickered across the morning light and they saw a boy who jumped over the ten-foot gate with astonishing agility, landing squarely amid the throng of candidates.
"Look out!"
The warning arrived too late for one of the candidates, who unexpectedly found himself serving as a landing pad.
The impact sent dirt flying into the air, but the boy was already on his feet, brushing himself off as if it were nothing.
"Y-you dare land on me? I’ll fucking kill you!"
[Prince Of The Pyre Kingdom: Rivaleno Pyre]
The boy who bore the full force of Julian’s fall was fuming, his fiery red hair and eyes ablaze with anger.
-Oh shit! We need to get away...
-Quick, someone alert the organizers!
The crowd immediately backed away from the angry candidate, clearly not wanting any collateral damage from his attack.
The distance was so vast that a 30-meter circle formed around him, as if they feared an imminent explosion.
Julian met his glare, recognizing him instantly—Rivaleno Pyre, prince of the Pyre Kingdom.
His reputation for aggression preceded him, and Julian knew he tread a dangerous line.
"I apologize!" Julian said quickly, bowing his head. "Uhh…um…I didn’t mean to—"
"On your knees won’t save you!"
SHAAAAA!
Rivaleno’s voice cut through the air like a whip.
He was beyond reasoning, his pride shredded by Julian’s unintentional rudeness in front of so many witnesses. There was simply no saving him from what was happening next.
"I’m truly sorry… I really mean it!"
Julian knelt lower, hoping to diffuse the brewing storm.
But Rivaleno had already lost it. Flames danced across his knuckles as mana surged through his arm, preparing to strike.
The watching candidates gasped collectively at the violence that was going to occur.
WOOSH!
A massive hand clamped down on Rivaleno’s wrist just as he swung at Julian’s head. The grip was so immense that it extinguished the flames on his fist.
"…!"
