The Faceless Billionaire Celebrity Wife-Chapter 351: You Think She Knows?
The obstetricians swiftly took over the care of the babies, the medical team crowded around the incubators, ensuring the fragile newborns were stable. Ethan’s gaze kept flicking back to Shikera, who hadn’t moved. His heart felt like it was being pulled in two directions, joy for the birth of his children and dread for what might still happen to their mother.
Their mother... How perfect that sounded.
Restraining himself from moving in the direction of the red faced crying babies, he watched as Jordan and Krystal moved in, seamlessly switching with the obstetricians to continue the delicate work. The atmosphere remained thick with tension, everyone watching, waiting. The only sound in the room was the steady beep of the monitors and the soft murmurs of the medical team.
Half of the job was done, and what was rest would determine how he would continue his life. Or rather, if his life would continue at all.
Just at that moment, Krystal, her hands steady but her face showing the weight of the moment, suddenly smiled beneath her mask. She looked up, her voice soft but clear. "Kera opened her eyes for a second just now. Briefly. She probably felt the babies leave her body and the anesthesia wore off for the slightest second," she added the last sentence as an afterthought.
Ethan’s heart skipped a beat. "What?" he whispered, taking a step closer, his hope rising. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
"She probably saw the babies," Jordan was the one who continued, glancing over at the incubators.
But before Ethan could fully process the relief, Jordan spoke up, his voice more somber. "She slipped back into unconsciousness," he said, his focus remaining on the surgery. "We’re continuing as planned. She’s stable, but we’re not out of the woods yet."
Ethan exhaled, trying to hold on to the hope that flickered inside him. His gaze darted between the incubators, where his daughters lay under the careful watch of the doctors, and Shikera, still fighting for her life. All he could do now was wait, his mind racing with prayers and promises, desperate for them all to make it through.

Hours had passed, and the quiet tension in the waiting lounge grew heavier with each minute. Ethan had moved out of the operating room when the babies were taken out to the infant care section, while Liam had taken his place inside the room.
Presently, he sat stiffly, his elbows resting on his knees, eyes glued to the TV in front of him which was showing the ongoing surgery. Beside him, Raine, Noah, and Cyprian watched in grim silence as the doctors worked, their movements precise and deliberate.
"She will be alright," his mom’s voice felt like a ghostly whisper against his ears.
Ethan’s face remained calm, but inside, his heart was shattering with every passing second. He kept replaying Jordan’s words from few days ago when he’d asked for the steps, how the surgery was supposed to go, and comparing it to the slow, meticulous process happening before him. Every slight delay, every movement that seemed off sent his mind spiraling. He rubbed his face repeatedly, trying to pull himself together, but the fear gnawed at him.
She will be alright... She won’t make our daughters orphans.
The only thing that brought him any peace was the image of those baby girls, his baby girls. Their baby girls. His and Shikera’s. Their soft cries, their delicate faces, their tiny bodies in the incubators with all the gadgets attached to them. That was the one sliver of hope he clung to, the reminder that no matter what happened, a part of Shikera would live on through them.
He looked up, blinking through the exhaustion, and saw movement inside the operating room. The doctors were wrapping up the surgery. His pulse quickened, and without thinking, he rose to his feet, every muscle tensed. He could barely stand to wait as they rounded off the final procedures. The next ten minutes felt like a lifetime as he watched them finish, his fists clenching and unclenching at his sides.
Finally, the doors to the operating room opened. Jordan and Krystal stepped out, their faces etched with fatigue, but there was a noticeable shift in their expressions, a small, but visible hint of relaxation.
Ethan was on them in an instant. "How was it?" he asked, his voice rough, barely keeping his desperation in check. "She will be alright, yes?"
Noah, standing just behind him, echoed the question. "Is she okay?"
Jordan let out a slow breath before speaking. "We’ll have to wait until she wakes up," he said, glancing between Ethan and the others. "But for now, I’d say there’s a 70 percent chance of her pulling through. That’s being pessimistic, so you can imagine the worst from this moment on."
Ethan’s heart stuttered in his chest. Seventy percent. More than half a chance that his wife would wake up, that she would survive this. It wasn’t enough, it was nowhere near enough for him. But it was something, and in this moment, something was better than nothing. He nodded, swallowing hard, trying to keep it together.
"She made it this far," Krystal added, her voice softer, offering a glimmer of reassurance. "That’s a good sign. The next few hours will be critical, but I trust she will pull through. As long as she wants to stay, again."
"Of course," Ethan chuckled mirthlessly. "She has to stay. For me, for the babies... and for everyone else, I guess. You think she knows we won’t be able to move on if she leaves?" His shaky voice was laced heavily with pain that everyone knew he must have been masking since the surgery started.
"She knows," Liam, who was just stepping out of the room, said. "Now go on, Ethan, go stay with your daughters while I stay with mine. Their faces would comfort you, trust me."
Ethan said nothing and just nodded again, clinging to the only thing keeping him going, the hope that Shikera would wake up and that his daughters wouldn’t lose their mother.
