The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard-Chapter 2271: A Man Can’t Say He’s Not Up to It
"Boom!"
The pitch-black water, where one couldn’t see their fingers, suddenly emitted a dull sound, like muffled thunder underwater.
The calm water currents abruptly became turbulent. In the darkness, terrifying shadows suddenly twisted their bodies, like a giant mountain turning over. Simultaneously, an extremely terrifying pressure erupted from beneath the water, like a volcano, spreading in all directions.
Nearby, in the water, powerful magical beasts were instantly frightened and turned to flee, as if a slight delay would lead to a catastrophic disaster.
Carson Flores was suspended in mid-air, feeling the terrifying tremors below, his heart shocked yet oddly amused.
Carson didn’t know what the Starry Sky Magical Beast looked like, but in his mind appeared a scene of a fish skewered by a little knife pinned on a chopping board, struggling to twist its body, yet unable to budge the knife that pierced through it.
The Crimson Mad seemed eager to overturn everything and rise up; in the dark water, a strong light suddenly blossomed. At that moment, Carson felt an immensely vast Sword Intent surge from the depths, enveloping the entire water region.
Sword Talisman?
Carson flew upwards, following the Giant Sword.
Just beginning his ascent, Carson saw runes lighting up one by one on the broad surface of the Giant Sword, and the glow extended downward, finally reaching beneath the ground.
No, that wasn’t the ground; it was the thick scale armor on the surface of the Starry Sky Magical Beast’s body, and beneath that armor was its giant form.
The vast and domineering Sword Qi spread from the sword body in all directions, and the Crimson Mad let out a tragic groan.
"Kid, don’t dilly-dally, hurry up and see. With just a move, I suffer greatly!"
"I’m going, going, hold on!"
Carson responded casually and quickly flew up towards the brightest spot.
Though the Sword Qi was overwhelming, most of it surged downward along the sword, ultimately entering the body of the Crimson Mad. The Sword Qi spilling from the sword had some force, but wasn’t strong enough to harm Carson.
Although Carson was no match for the Starry Sky Magical Beast and the sword’s master, he was nonetheless a Heavenly Immortal, just short of the Great Land, and one could say he was rather powerful in the Immortal Path.
Soon, Carson approached that spot emanating endless Sword Intent. The surrounding water had been completely displaced by an invisible force, allowing Carson a clear view of the Sword Talisman located on the giant sword blade.
The sword blade resembled an endlessly vast, steep cliff, enormous yet the Sword Talisman upon it was not particularly large, just a few dozen square meters in area.
In comparison to the entire sword blade surface, the Sword Talisman was like a bird standing on a cliff or a mosquito stuck to a wall, not very conspicuous, yet it emitted endless Sword Intent, ensuring it was noticed immediately.
Carson slowly approached the Sword Talisman, and when he was about twenty or thirty meters away from the sword blade, the Sword Intent grew increasingly fierce and aggressive.
Carson halted his steps, sensing that if he moved closer, the seemingly gentle Sword Talisman might erupt with immense destructive power, killing anyone who approached.
To get closer to the Sword Talisman, he would have to comprehend it.
Carson no longer advanced, focusing his gaze on the Sword Talisman.
The surface of the Sword Talisman glowed with white brilliance, and Carson concentrated his sight, looking beyond the white glow to the powerful runes behind it.
With just a glance, those rune lines, like sword edges, suddenly seemed alive, radiating a dominating terror, capable of tearing everything apart with their Sword Intent.
"Ah!"
Carson let out a scream, closing his eyes tightly, tears of blood streaming down.
Carson reached out, clutching his head, gritting his teeth as his facial muscles contorted in pain.
The Sword Intent of the Sword Talisman, through Carson’s gaze, had directly pierced into the depths of his mind, seeming to pierce through his skull.
After a long while, Carson finally ceased his cries, lowering his hands from his head.
"Kid, how are you?"
The voice of the Crimson Mad came from below, with a hint of anticipation.
Carson replied, "I just took a glance, and my eyes nearly went blind!"
The Crimson Mad’s voice concealed disappointment: "So you’re saying you can’t handle it?"
"A man can’t say can’t handle it."
Carson answered casually: "Let me try again."
Carson flashed into the Ethereal Pagoda, and soon, Carson and Selah Ellison Venerable One appeared in the air.
This time, Carson deployed his true form.
An Incarnation is ultimately an Incarnation; although difficult to distinguish from the true form, it can’t replicate Carson’s many attributes.
"It’s a shame Spencer isn’t here; with her Sword Spirit Body’s aptitude, perhaps there’d be gains. Be careful, looking beyond the white glow at the Sword Talisman lines can hurt with Sword Intent."
Carson reminded Selah Ellison Venerable One, while his own Sword Intent surged and he focused his sight to look beyond the white brilliance once more.
