Chapter 104: Chapter 50: A Thousand Years of the Human Clan (Part 2)

Li Qingming roared fiercely, and suddenly the sky changed dramatically.

Originally, the fierce sun was hanging high, reaching directly up to the Nine Heavens. But in an instant, it turned as dark as night, with the Moon Rabbit hanging high in the void. It seemed like the darkness was brimming with terrifying power!

"Boom!"

After a long while, the eternal darkness seemed to reach its limit and shattered with a loud boom. The void twisted and continuously collapsed, and a dark portal suddenly appeared, its destination unknown.

"Woo!"

Thunderous roars spilled from those portals, and streaks of gray-brown light shot towards Li Qingming like arrows off their strings. The silent oppression was massive; Li Qingming believed that even the Daluo Golden Immortals would be obliterated by this pressure!

Eight Human Ancestors watched the collapsing void in baffled horror, unable to understand why this bizarre attack was targeting the Holy Father.

As they gathered their minds and planned to do everything in their power to stop these arrows, the sky full of arrows had already flown towards Li Qingming’s face. It was a powerful wave of energy, and the resplendent light soared into the sky, dimming even the Moon Rabbit.

"Hey!"

Li Qingming uttered a low shout, and a Qingyun with a radius of several miles flashed out. On it, the Qiankun Three Treasures were arranged in the Three Talents Formation, surrounding the central purple Bitter Bamboo, shining a tranquil green light, blocking these myriad arrows.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

The violent booming sound shook the entire Heaven and Earth. With mysterious Divine Light, the roiling waves spread out for thousands of miles. That thin layer of green light enveloped Li Qingming tightly.

As the sky went through these strange changes, the Great Powers in the Primordial frantically deduced the heavenly secrets, trying to understand why such phenomena were occurring.

When something abnormal happens, there must be Demon at play. For those Primordial Great Powers accustomed to controlling situations, the shock in their hearts was beyond words. Despite their deductions, they couldn’t understand anything! How could they not be shocked?

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

The continuous bombardment lasted for who knows how long, and the sky returned to its usual calm. As if the previous bombardments had never happened. The sea breeze still gently caressed the sea surface, but the Qingyun above Li Qingming’s head evidenced everything that had just occurred.

"Holy Father, this..." The eight people looked at Li Qingming, who had withdrawn the Green Cloud. Only now could they truly understand the Holy Father’s power.

Li Qingming, with his hands clasped behind his back, said, "This is the Heavenly Dao’s punishment for you!"

Upon finishing, without waiting for the eight people to speak, he transmitted the Yuqing cultivation method into their minds, saying, "I am Qingmingzi, the first disciple under Yuanshi Tianzun and the chief disciple of Xuan Sect! Today, I accept you as my registered disciples. What was just transmitted into your minds is my Yuqing cultivation technique, covering myriad aspects. You all must cultivate diligently!"

The eight people promptly bowed and thanked him: "Thank you, Master, for imparting the method!"

Li Qingming nodded in satisfaction. Although he passed on the cultivation techniques to the eight, he did not pass on any spells, which was also to better fulfill their respective missions.

These eight individuals were Chaos Spirit Bodies, uncarved gems of Cultivation. With his guidance, Li Qingming believed they could certainly protect the Human Clan well.

"Do you all have names?" Li Qingming suddenly asked.

All of them shook their heads and said, "We do not have any!"

Li Qingming looked closely at the eight, quickly deducing their destinies. He discovered that these eight were all legendary figures in the lore of the Human Clan.

After pondering for a while, from the man who resembled himself the most, from left to right, he named the eight disciples: "Your names shall be Sui Ren, You Chao, Shi Huang, and Zhong Jing (these four are men); Ziyi, Tao Wen, Zhao Yi, and Yi’an (these four are women)!"

Hearing this, Sui Ren and the others quickly knelt and shouted: "Thank you, Master, for granting us our names!"

Seeing the eight with excited yet still troubled faces, Li Qingming knew what they were worried about.

Gently patting Sui Ren’s shoulder, Li Qingming asked, "Do you still remember what I told you hundreds of years ago?"

Sui Ren heard the words of Li Qingming and immediately replied, "Holy Father, oh! I would never dare to forget the teachings of my Master!"

Li Qingming continued, "You shall relay the words I spoke that day to You Chao and the others. Once you understand them, you may descend the mountain."

While Sui Ren was still pondering, the other seven were startled, fearing that Li Qingming had completely abandoned the Human Clan, and collectively kowtowed, saying, "We beg for Master’s mercy, please do not abandon the Human clan!"

Li Qingming was taken aback and then responded, "Rest assured, the Human clan will not perish! Remember, to do a good job, one must first sharpen one’s tools. If you cannot find the root of decay, merely blaming Heaven and others is not the solution!"

After speaking, Li Qingming took out a small gourd from his storage space, saying, "This gourd contains some Detoxification Pills. After you descend the mountain, dissolve these elixirs in water and have those who are diseased drink it; the epidemic should then be no longer feared! As for other matters, you all will need to resolve them yourselves."

Having finished speaking, he returned to his cave and closed his eyes to meditate deeply.

Sui Ren savored the words of Li Qingming, and spoke of the centuries-old words to everyone. All were puzzled, except for Sui Ren, You Chao, and Ziyi, who seemed thoughtful.

Due to concern for their clan, they dared not delay any longer. They decided to settle their people first before addressing other matters!

Upon descending the mountain, having the tribespeople drink the medicated water, the tribespeople were grateful to the eight, honoring them as the Human Ancestors.

The Human Clan began to repeat their previous lives: practicing Witch Clan battle skills, foraging for food, and living the numb cycle of day after day, year after year...

Suddenly one day, amidst thunder and a torrential downpour, a lightning bolt unexpectedly struck a tree in the forest, immediately igniting a fierce fire, and wild animals around scattered in fear.

At that moment, Sui Ren was hunting in the mountains and witnessing this scene, he suddenly thought, "Wild animals are actually afraid of fire! If we light fire pits at night, we need not worry about wild animal attacks."

Thinking this, Sui Ren was overjoyed, rushed forward to pick up a burning stick, and hurriedly ran back. Unfortunately, he hadn’t run far when the stick burned out completely, and the fire extinguished.

Undeterred, Sui Ren tried several times with larger sticks, but all attempts failed.

Standing beside the burning tree, Sui Ren began to ponder.

At that moment, he suddenly smelled a fragrance and followed it, only to find a wild boar that had been roasted to death.

Smelling this, Sui Ren, despite his high cultivation, abruptly felt his mouth watering uncontrollably.

Sui Ren tore off a piece of charred meat from the boar, tentatively put it in his mouth, and found it extraordinarily delicious! It was hundreds, even thousands of times better than the raw meat and wild fruits he had eaten before.

"Who knew fire had such effects, not only can it ward off wild animals, but it can also cook meat!" Sui Ren thought delightedly, then fell into deep thought, "But how can I obtain fire?"

After pondering for a day and a night without a viable solution, Sui Ren could only watch helplessly as the fire was extinguished by the rain.

Feeling helpless, Sui Ren once again flew to the Coastal Small Cliff to consult Li Qingming.

"Disciple Sui Ren seeks an audience with Master!"

Having already seen all of Sui Ren’s actions, Li Qingming spoke indifferently, "I am already aware of your purpose. I have but two sentences for you, remember well ’Heaven has its Five Elements: Water, Fire, Metal, Wood, and Earth; they alternate and nurture, creating all things. Water moistens downward, Fire blazes upward, Wood flexes and extends, Metal conforms and changes, Earth sows and harvests. These five elements generate and inhibit each other, thus cycling endlessly!’"

Upon hearing this, Sui Ren’s eyes suddenly burst with an inch of brilliance, and he kowtowed deeply. Then, light as a feather, he drifted away.

On his way, pondering what Li Qingming had said about "Fire blazes upward, Wood flexes and extends... the Five Elements generate and inhibit each other!" Sui Ren thought, "Lightning hits the trees, and hence wood generates fire! Could it be that by striking trees, one can produce fire?"

With this thought, Sui Ren began trying various methods, frantically tearing, chopping, and striking trees. The trees were left battered and tattered, yet none of the methods worked.

Sitting despondently on a smooth stump, with his brows deeply furrowed, he suddenly noticed that the stump beneath him was unusually hot. He quickly bent down for a closer inspection and finally concluded: When trees were hit, the impacted areas would emit heat, and when this heat met the conditions for combustion, it was highly possible that flames could be ignited!

At that moment, Sui Ren was exceptionally excited and joyously began experimenting.
