The Forbidden Heiress At The All Male Alpha Academy-Chapter 163: He is with Heather??
Heather sat with her usual circle near the centre of the boneyard. Gina was laughing too loudly at something stupid, and the other girls leaned in as they painted their nails with polish.
"So, how’s it going with her? She asked, "Has she told Zeke about you yet?!" Gina asked first, forcing the other girls to lean even closer.
Heather seemed bored, and stabbed a fork down on her meal, "I don’t think so. The bitch is being stubborn, and impossible, and the play is in a few days. I can’t act with Zeke if he doesn’t soften up to me before then...," She clicked her tongue angrily, "Maybe I should just tell the Commandant and get her expelled already. Seeing her face in that masculine skin is already annoying enough,"
"If you get rid of her before she can help you get a hold of Zeke, what would you do, then?"
"I’ll take out all my frustrations on the blonde idiot. Her face would serve as an appropriate punching bag till the day I feel better,"
Gina and the rest laughed.
Just then, the uproar of noise in the room faded into a hush of whispers the moment Zeke walked in. He looked unintentionally handsome and dangerous with his head tied to the back of his neck, tattoos ripping through his neck, piercings on his ear and an open black jacket with no shirt under.
Most of the girls froze in awe, drool glistening by the corner of their lips while others openly licked their lips slowly as they watched him obsessively. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Zeke walked into the room, walking like he owned everything around him.
Then, he stopped right beside Heather’s table.
Heather and the girls froze.
Zeke casually reached down, dragged a chair back with a scrape that echoed just enough to draw attention, and sat down right beside her.
Very close. He could feel his breath against her cheek.
Her spine went rigid, like her body had not been informed yet that this was real. Her eyes widened for half a second before she caught herself, lips parting in practised nonchalance that failed immediately.
"Zeke," she said, her voice pitching higher than usual, "W...what are you doing here?"
He leaned back and stretched an arm over her table like it now belonged there, "I came to see you, Heather Sinclair,"
Every girl at the table stared at him like he had just rewritten their futures.
Heather swallowed. Her scent shifted as nervous excitement flooded the air.
Zeke noticed. Of course he did.
"I got your letter," he added casually, eyes flicking to her face at last, "I thought it was quite...bold of you,"
Her breath caught. She could not believe this was really happening. Zeke Pendragon was actually talking and staring at her!
"You read it?" she asked, trying and failing to sound coy.
"Twice," he lied smoothly, "Figured if someone goes through the trouble of putting feelings on paper, they deserve attention,"
Gina’s jaw nearly hit the table.
Heather’s cheeks flushed pink, then red. She tucked her hair behind her ear, suddenly unsure what to do with her hands.
"I wasn’t sure you would," She admitted, "I didn’t even know if you knew who I was. You always seemed to be on your own lane, and I never imagined that...," Her face was a red mess, and she kept fidgeting with her fingers. Her heart was literally about to explode.
Zeke smiled softly, then he reached out and picked up her soda, bringing it to her lips, "Funny thing about other people," he said, "They’re not always who you think they are."
Her lips quivered at first, before they wrapped around the straw and drank.
Zeke leaned in closer, lowering his voice just enough to make it feel private, "You looked brave in that letter," he continued, "I thought it was hot,"
His words were like a surge of electricity catching her off guard, and her throat constricted, causing her to suddenly choke and cough.
Zeke’s palm flattened against her back, gently patting till she was feeling better. Heather was melting.
Theo walked in right then.
She stopped just inside the archway the moment she smelled Zeke, and then before she saw him. That familiar mix of heat and smoke and something reckless that always pulled at her chest.
He was sitting next to Heather.
He seemed relaxed and sat too close, clearly invading her private space even though she didn’t seem to mind at all. His arm stretched behind her like it belonged there, and his head angled toward her as he listened and smiled.
Smiled??! He was actually smiling at Heather??!
Theo’s stomach dropped, and she tried to ignore them as she collected food in her tray and went up to an empty seat.
From where she sat, she could hear Heather giggling at something he said. Theo had forced herself to keep her eyes glued to her door, but found herself raising her head the next second and catching Zeke murmuring something into Heather’s ear.
His lips were too close to her skin!
So this is how it is, she thought bitterly.
She forced her eyes back down before she did something crazy. Her eyes were on her food but she wasn’t seeing it at all. What the hell was Zeke even doing?
She tried to rationalise it and remembered his words from that morning. He said he was going to protect her no matter what. Was this his answer? Going along with what Heather wants?
Jealousy burned hot and sharp in her chest, ugly and uninvited. She had lost her appetite and just wanted to shove the damn meat down Heather’s throat and choke the dang girl to her death!
Across the room, Zeke felt Theo’s sharp Jealousy.
There was a way the air had changed the moment she arrived, and the way his instincts tugged toward her even as he stayed where he was.
Her Jealousy was so hot he could feel his Jacket about to catch on fire, and he smirked.
He did not turn around.
Not yet.
Heather laughed again as he whispered something else into her ear, clearly floating.
"I didn’t think you’d ever notice me," She said softly.
Zeke tilted his head, eyes dark and unreadable, "That’s funny," he replied. "I’ve been noticing you for a while. That Letter was the Final Push,"
Theo stabbed her fork into her food as her mind raced. She knew Zeke was only pretending to like her, but did he have to be so darn good at it? Does he have to be so good at acting while she was here trying not to imagine ripping out a girl’s intestines?
Or was this payback? Had she finally pushed him too far? Or was he playing a game she was not invited into?
Heather must feel on top of the world right now. A Pendragon and a Sinclair getting together would be the talk of the whole school for weeks to come, and Heather would officially be crowned as the Queen of Gravemont and Luna Academy.
They would make the ultimate couple.
"Don’t explode... Don’t explode...,"
Ava was murmuring right next to her frantically. Theo didn’t even realise when the girl had sat down beside her.
Zeke murmured something in her ear again, and Heather giggled. Theo’s eyes twitched wildly as she raised her head, catching Zeke just in time as he reached out toward her face, and slowly tucked some of her hair behind her ear.
Heather was so red it was becoming contagious.
Theo’s eyes followed the act with hands curled into fists so hard her nails were digging into her palm.
That was it!
She slammed her hand into the table, and her chair scraped against the floor as she stood up. The sound was so loud it drew attention, and even Heather looked in her direction.
Zeke’s smirk only grew.
"What are you doing?!" Ava whispered tightly the moment Theo started walking toward Zeke and Heather.
