Alex descended the stairs leading to the teleportation tower chamber, his loyal wolf Hati following closely behind.

As they passed through the doorway at the bottom, Alex found himself inside a circular chamber bathed in dim purple light. The walls were made of smooth obsidian stone, giving the space a mysterious, cavern-like atmosphere. The air was damp and cool.

In one corner of the room, Selene and Sara stood together, talking and laughing softly like they were sharing a light-hearted moment.

As they heard the approaching footsteps, both turned their heads. Selene’s eyes lit up.

Alex walked toward them, dressed in a black T-shirt and black jeans. His long white hair—accented by faint streaks of red and purple—moved gently with each step.

Selene smiled brightly and stepped forward."Good morning, Alex!"

Alex returned the smile warmly."Good morning!"

Then his eyes moved to Sara. He gave a respectful nod."Hello, Ice Phoenix Matriarch."

Sara smiled."Hello, Alexander. You can just call me Sara."

Alex scratched the back of his head, giving a slightly awkward smile."Ah... okay."

He nodded.

Sara’s smile widened in amusement.

Selene rolled her eyes."Don’t do this, Mama!"

Sara blinked with a mock-innocent expression."Do what, dear?"

"Ughhh..." Selene groaned, her hands balling into fists in frustration.

Sara chuckled."Let’s go then, dear. Let’s show Alexander our city."

Selene nodded, still flustered, and led the way into the teleportation circle.

Hati followed after her, and Alex stepped in beside them.

All of them stood together in the center of the glowing, violet-hued circle.

A guard dressed in an emerald uniform approached and gave a respectful bow to Sara."Where to, Matriarch?" he asked.

Before Sara could answer, Selene spoke in a neutral tone."Ice Phoenix City."

The guard nodded and stepped back.

The teleportation circle shimmered to life, engulfed in purple light—

And then,they vanished.

Far to the northernmost side of the Earth, shrouded in relentless snowstorms and surrounded by towering frozen mountains and ancient glaciers, stood a city carved from the very breath of winter.

Encased in thick ice walls, the city resembled a massive glacier itself. The houses within were capped with snow, their rooftops buried under layers of white.

At the city’s heart, nestled among carefully arranged dwellings, stood a breathtaking castle—its structure glimmered like it had been sculpted directly from a mountain of crystal ice. It shimmered under the pale sun, a jewel of frost and elegance.

Farther away from the castle, a lone tower rose like a frozen finger toward the sky. Built with pale white stone and covered in frost.

Inside the tower’s ground floor, a wide teleportation circle lay embedded in the floor. It shimmered faintly with purple light.

Suddenly, the glow intensified—And with a flash, three people and a peculiar wolf appeared in its center.

Alex blinked and looked around the pristine white chamber. It was familiar—similar in architecture and feeling to every other teleportation tower he’d visited.

Selene and Sara immediately stepped out of the circle.

Selene stumbled slightly, bending over with her hands on her knees, breath short. Sara caught her with a steadying arm.

Alex rushed over, concern flashing in his eyes."Is she okay?"

Sara glanced at him, her eyes widening slightly—then she smiled, shaking her head."Yes, she is. It happens after long-range teleportation. We just crossed from one end of the Earth to the other."

Alex nodded, now understanding, and stood by patiently as Selene recovered.

After a few moments, Selene straightened herself with a deep breath."Mama, I’m okay."

She turned to Alex and blushed slightly as their eyes met.

Sara smiled and looked back at Alex."Let’s go then."

All of them moved out of the teleportation tower.

As Alex stepped out of the tower’s door, a blast of cold, icy air hit his face.He shivered instantly, his teeth chattering from the sudden chill.

"K-K-Khh..." He wrapped his arms around himself tightly, trying to preserve whatever warmth remained.

Selene and Sara, however, didn’t react at all to the cold. They turned their heads toward Alex—smiling.

Selene asked with a teasing grin,"Are you okay, Alex?"

Alex looked at her with stiff movements, still trembling."N-N-No."

Selene arched a brow and continued playfully,"Why didn’t you bring warm clothes?"

Alex replied through clenched teeth,"I-I-I didn’t—know—it—would be—this—cold!" ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

Selene rolled her eyes."What? We are Ice Phoenixes. We are the cold. Didn’t you think of that?"

Alex shook his head miserably, still shivering.

Sara, watching their exchange, smiled with gentle amusement. She reached into her spatial ring and pulled out a long black overcoat, holding it out toward Alex."Here, take this," she said warmly.

Alex grabbed the coat and slipped it on immediately. The coat reached just an inch below his knees, and the moment he wore it, warmth bloomed around his body. The biting cold faded.

Alex looked at Sara, eyes filled with gratitude."Thanks a lot."

Sara shook her head, still smiling."It looks good on you, dear."

Selene giggled softly, then turned to her mother."Let’s go, Mama."

As they moved through the city, there was no ice on the roads. It was snowing, but the ice seemed to move away from the road, following a path like water.

Alex looked at it, shocked.

Sara smiled and explained,"That’s our city’s large Ice Elemental Formation. It moves all the ice toward our defense wall."

Alex looked around. A large mountain stood like a wall, extending around and covering the whole city. The shadow of the wall vanished into the snowstorm.

Sara continued, walking toward the castle in the center,"This city is more than 3,000 years old. Our ancestors say that it was made by the Ice Phoenix when she came to Earth—to protect her children."

Alex’s eyes widened. He asked, confused,"But I heard all the mythical creatures made humans their slaves?"

Sara nodded and replied,"Yes, you’re right. Most of the mythical creatures did that—treated humans as livestock. But there were still some who lived with us, treated us with respect... and even gave birth to humans."

She paused and looked at the sky with her pale blue eyes."But these are rare occurrences."

Alex walked beside her, deep in thought over the words he’d heard. He muttered to himself—but Selene and Sara both heard it:"There are many secrets still hidden away about mythical creatures."

Sara smiled and nodded in agreement.

As they approached the Ice Castle, the sentries at the gate came running as they noticed their Matriarch. They bowed deeply."MATRIARCH!"

Sara nodded and moved forward, Alex and Selene following closely.Hati trotted beside Alex.

The guards stood up and immediately opened the colossal gate leading into the Ice Castle.

Creak!Rumble!

The sleek blue metal gates, etched with patterns of two phoenixes meeting in the middle, slowly opened.

As Alex stepped inside, his eyes widened even further. The walls were made of crystalline white ice, but inside it was warm—not cold, but comfortably warmer.

Sara looked back at Selene and said with a warm smile,"Lead Alex to his room. And you, too—go and rest in your room."

Selene nodded, smiling, and led Alex down to another corridor.
