The Forsaken Heir's Ascension-Chapter 98: The Lioness of Roarhart
Chapter 98: The Lioness of Roarhart
Whistle blew.
30:00
29:59
The timer began.
BOOM!
Tina surged forward, flames erupting around her—like the avatar of a lava dragon incarnate.
BOOM!
With a fiery slash, she shattered the stone barricades of the defenders’ front column, reducing them to dust.
BOOM!
A shockwave followed as Alex dashed in, black lightning crackling around him, arcs of electricity dancing across the battlefield.
Rina lunged forward, channelling earth element through her body.
The ground responded.
Stones clung to her legs, crawling up her form as she sprinted. Within seconds, she was clad in silver-hued stone armor—head to toe—except her face, calm.
A two-meter-tall golem.
Her katana, now dwarfed in her stone-clad hands, looked no more than a toothpick—yet glowed with sharp intent.
She reached the front column.
The earth trembled with each of her steps.
The crowd gasped, eyes wide at the colossal golems now clashing on the battlefield.
As the silver golem—Rina—advanced toward the defender column, cheers erupted, drowning out even the roar of the lightning.
Rina moved swiftly, her stony armor gleaming. Thanks to Tina’s fiery assault, the first defender column had been breached, defender distracted.
But at the second column, she was halted.
A golden-haired boy stepped forward, snickering looking at her as he raised a hand.
CRACK!
A massive stone arm burst from the ground, larger than even Rina’s armored frame.
BOOM!
It punched.
Rina crossed her arms and braced—the blow connected, but she held.
Then came her counter.
Slash!
Her katana swung in an arc, slicing through the stone arm with surgical precision.
The severed arm crumbled.
The boy stumbled back in shock.
Before he could recover—
CRACK-BOOM!
A lightning strike slammed into Rina’s armor.
Only a faint scratch remained.
She didn’t flinch.
Rina lunged forward and attacked. The golden-haired boy tried to say something—
But it was too late.
THUD!
Her colossal armored fist sent him crashing into the barrier wall, his condition unknown.
"1—DEFENDER INCAPACITATED."
The announcement echoed across the arena.
Rina didn’t look back.
As she stepped into the third column, an invisible weight pressed down on her shoulders—gravity traps.
The pressure was immense. Her stone armor groaned and cracked.
Chunks fell away, shattering at her feet.
But she didn’t stop.
She exhaled, closed her eyes for a heartbeat, and circulated her air element.
A thin gust swirled around her, and with a sudden burst, the weight lifted.
The gravity trap was neutralized.
A golden-haired boy stood ahead, smirking with mockery.
"Hello, coward. How are you?"
Rina said nothing.
Alex, also in the column, glanced at her.
Something about her... she felt different.
She crouched low, wind circling around her again.
In a calm, quiet voice, she whispered to Alex,
"Go ahead. I’ll handle him."
Alex nodded and dashed toward the next zone.
Rina launched forward—a blur of speed and precision.
The boy’s eyes widened.
He barely dodged, sidestepping as he began to encase himself in a layer of earthen armor.
Too late.
Rina was already on him.
Her katana flashed—a silver arc slashing toward his neck.
Boom!
The slash was stopped—caught between the crossed arms of hardened earth armor.
Rina didn’t falter.
She pulled her blade back in a fluid motion and dropped into a horse stance, both hands gripping the katana. Her eyes closed.
Around her, lightning rumbled across the field.
She exhaled slowly...
And became one with the wind.
Air whirled around her, gathering with precision. Her sword shimmered as the element infused it. The swirling wind formed an image—a lioness.
The golden-haired boy trembled. He stumbled backward and fell to the ground.
"L-Lioness... Lio— I give—"
Slash!
Before he could finish, Rina moved.
Rumble of lightning was followed by fierce roar of the Lioness, a lonely, fierce, lioness protecting her vey heart.
The boy tried to protect himself, hastily encasing his body in thick layers of stone armor.
It wasn’t enough.
The lioness—her wind-forged manifestation—struck down, tearing through the armor.
A limb flew.
The boy screamed.
Then someone whispered—
"The Lioness of Roarhart..."
And then the chanting began,
"Roarhart Lioness! Roarhart Lioness!"
Rina opened her eyes. They glowed—not just with power, but with presence.
She scanned the crowd. All eyes were on her.
Even those who mocked her—now stared with fear, respect, and confusion.
Tina smiled, nodding silently.
Her student —not as a girl from the past, but as the Lioness reborn.
Alex stood still
That lonely roar echoed in his heart.
Lightning struck his body.
Rumble!
He looked up at the sky and said in a perfectly calm voice, "Ouch. Yes, yes, I’m moving." freёnovelkiss-com
He shuffled toward the final column.
Rina stepped forward, her open katana dragging along the ground with a metallic scrape. Her golden hair was wild and dishevelled.
She didn’t look satisfied. As the chant from the arena rose — "Mother..." — she muttered the word under her breath.
She reached the fourth column and saw a boy with the same golden hair, his face the only visible part of him behind a shell of stone armor.
Rina straightened her katana and took her stance.
The boy screamed, "I give up! I give up!"
She blinked, confused, then slowly lowered her sword. Without a word, she moved on to the next column.
A whistle blew.
MATCH OVER
WINNER: REBEL TEAM
The sound echoed through the entire arena.
Rina exhaled. Thank God it’s over. I’m tired. That sword attack drained all my energy... but I think I like the way it feels.
Darian came forward, laughing.
"Hahaha, good job, Alex!" he said, swinging a friendly slap at Alex’s back.
Alex crouched down, dodging it just in time.
In a tired voice, he muttered, "I’m really tired of lightning hitting my body. It hurts. So please, control your hands."
Darian scratched his head with a sheepish grin.
"Ahh, okay. Haha... sorry."
Tina stepped forward toward Rina. As always, there wasn’t a scratch on her. Her sleek, muscled frame glistened under the arena lights.
She gently placed her hand on Rina’s messy hair.
"You did good. You really are the daughter of the Lioness. Like I said—just focus on yourself first. Build things one step at a time."
Rina looked down, eyes softening.
Then came Selene, a calm smile on her face—but in her eyes, a small flame of rivalry flickered.
"You really did great, Rina."
Rina nodded sheepishly.
For the first time, she was happy for herself. Not for the crowd. Not for validation. Just... proud.
"I have to keep moving forward," she thought.
"This first step... it’ll just be a mark. I’ll make my own place in this world."
As Selene walked toward her dorm, her fists clenched at her sides.
"I have to train. I can’t be left behind."
Selene stepped into the Ice Elemental Training Room, her breath fogging in the chilled air. Ice was her strongest element—she had mastered it up to six circles. In contrast, her weakest, water, was barely at three.
She selected medium difficulty on the console.
With a soft humm, the room shimmered, then transformed.
She found herself standing atop a frozen mountain. Jagged ice-covered rocks jutted from the snowy ground. A howling blizzard whipped around her, cutting into her skin. Despite wielding the Ice element, she wasn’t immune to the cold.
She shivered.
Suddenly—
ROARRRR!
Selene stumbled back, her eyes wide.
"I thought this was just an Ice Domain... How can a monster appear here?" she whispered, panic creeping into her voice.
She clenched her fists, steadying herself.
The snowstorm made visibility nearly zero, but she strained her senses toward the direction of the roar.
ROARRRR!
Out of nowhere, an Ice Deer leapt through the storm.
Its crystalline antlers—sharp as spears—glinted in the pale light.
Selene dodged, rolling sideways as the antlers missed her by inches. Ice scattered where the deer struck.
She scrambled to her feet, locking eyes with the creature.
The Ice Deer stood firm, its red eyes burning with fury—as if she’d stolen its child.
It scraped its sharp hooves on the icy ground, sparks of frost shooting out with each motion. Then, it backed up—
—and charged.
Its shimmering antlers aimed directly at her stomach.
Selene clenched her fists, her breath sharp in the cold. With fierce eyes, she launched ice lances toward the charging deer. But the monster was too nimble—weaving in a zigzag, changing direction mid-charge.
She dodged just in time, sidestepping the antlers—but slipped and fell onto the slick ice. Gritting her teeth, she scrambled up, only to see the deer already turning back for another run.
"Ice lances won’t work... it’s too fast. What should I do? Think, Selene, think!"
Then it struck her.
Her eyes lit up. "How could I forget?" she gasped.
With a flick of her hand, she summoned an ice wall—a desperate barrier. The furious deer shattered through it like glass, letting out a low, angry growl.
But Selene didn’t flinch.
She took a deep breath, her voice steady now.
"Don’t worry... I’ll keep you company—as thanks for helping me understand something."
She closed her eyes and whispered:
"Ice is strong... like the pride of the Ice Phoenix."
