Chapter 127: Predicting Future

"Be honest, Xian’er, I know what you guys did last night and how you interact with each other. It’s nothing like a contractual business between a lord and his subordinates!"

Zhu Zhengting understood what was happening, but he didn’t trust Yun Shu to have such a relation with Bai Yunxian, not when there was so much condition that tied them together with a loose string; one that could be cut off at any time.

"It’s... not his fault." The grip on Bai Yunxian’s chest tightened as he looked down, his eyes seemingly lost somewhere, "It’s me who is the problem."

"What do you mean by that? There is no way my brother would be someone who would become a problem for someone! Don’t blame yourself over nothing!" Zhu Zhengting felt flustered by the look on Bai Yunxian’s face, he didn’t know what to do or how to console him. novelbuddy-cσ๓

"Brother, this life of mine that holds no power or reason, is insignificant, I promised to live it for the person that I hold dear to my heart till I close my eyes for an eternity. Don’t try to stop or persuade me to stray away from my goal, brother."

"..."

A silence came down in the air, turning the atmosphere between them heavy as a cold winter night.

A gentle breeze brushed past them, Zhu Zhengting heaved a sigh of giving up as he looked at Bai Yunxian.

"Fine, I’ll help you in everything you need. However, I have a condition, it doesn’t matter even if you refuse me, since I’ll do it anyway!"

"What are you planning?" Bai Yunxian looked at the guy who had a nasty smile on his face and frowned, it’s obvious that whatever he was thinking, it was in no way something good.

"Oh, you don’t need to worry about that, since it would be a test to judge my Dear. Brother. In. Law!"

"You!" Bai Yunxian wanted to warm the guy, but he was too exhausted to stop him.

"Fine, do as you please. But remember not to do something that would put Lord Yun in danger."

"Wow! Whose brother are you, caring for a man you met for some time more than your blood relatives!" Zhu Zhengting pouted as he looked the other way, crossing his arms on his chest while pretending to be angry.

"Of course, I’m your brother whose father takes the words of an outsider to be more important than his own blood relatives. Anyway, I have a favor I would like to ask you, brother. That’s actually the reason why I called you to meet me here." Bai Yunxian said as he looked at Zhu Zhengting’s shocked expression with a calm face.

"Wait! H-how did you... you never met father before, did you? How do you know what he does?" Zhu Zhengting felt as if Bai Yunxian’s eyes were something special, so special that he could pierce and see through one’s soul with them.

"There are also some things you need to know, brother. The fact that I know my father’s habits came off as a surprise to you, but I think I have a special talent that no one found out till now." Bai Yunxian pretended to be dignified as he straightened his back, staring directly into Zhu Zhengting’s eyes.

"I can see the future."

Bai Yunxian’s revealed his story of regression, adding with a little white lie that was needed.

Because he didn’t want to go through the same thing ever again, a life where he became imprisoned by his father for revealing the fact that he regressed back in time and was treated like a mad man.

Suddenly, a small thought flashed through his mind.

’If it weren’t his father but Yun Shu whom he told this fact to, would anything have been different?’

’Would he have believed his words?’

"Seeing the future? Are you saying that you are a clairvoyant, brother? But your mother wasn’t from the Moon Tribe from the East, nor are you a real woman, how could it be?" Zhu Zhengting wanted to mix up the coincidences together, but nothing seems to be mixing with each fact revealed by Bai Yunxian.

It was shocking, at the same time, dangerous.

"Did you reveal this secret to Yun Shu as well?" Zhu Zhengting asked him as he suddenly grabbed him by his arm and shook his body.

"Not yet."

"That means you are planning to do so, right?"

"..."

Bai Yunxian’s silence was understandable, Zhu Zhengting knew he couldn’t force his little brother into something he didn’t want.

"I just want to be of help, for him. Brother. Forgive me."

"..."

"Then, promise me one thing." Zhu Zhengting gave up after watching Bai Yunxian’s determination and his unwavered eyes.

Since he couldn’t stop him, he should help him.

"What is it?"

"Don’t tell him about this power of yours until I tell you to."

"My Lord, the conversation between the Lady and Master Zhu is taking a long time. Are you sure you don’t need to stop them?" Nine asked as he gazed down the window, from where the Pavilion could be seen clearly.

"It’s alright. She should spend some time alone with a family member she met after a long time. Let them catch up with each other and don’t interrupt in anything."

Yun Shu said as she looked outside the window, where a pine tree was shooking it’s head with the breeze blowing away.

"But, aren’t you worried that she might leak something?" Nine said with a mix of distrust and displeasure in his voice.

"Relax, she won’t. I believe in her, so should you guys." Yun Shu gave a sharp look at her subordinates.

Hearing her, Nine wanted to say something more, but Thirteen came by his side as he forced Nine to bow his head after pinching on his waist, "We’ll remember your words, My Lord. It seems Nine isn’t feeling well, allow me to take him away."

"Hmm." Yun Shu replied vaguely as she was looking outside blankly.
