Yun Shu traced her fingers on his face, staring at him with an affectionate look which was hard to believe for Bai Yunxian.

"I know that I can’t help you turn back time and save you from those misery, but let me be by your side and take away all those nightmares from you so that you can only dream of happy things in the future."

’Take away my nightmare? Didn’t you already do enough? Did you know, Lord Yun, what my biggest nightmare is?’ Bai Yunxian thought as tears blurred his vision.

But she didn’t stop till there, as she planted a kiss on Bai Yunxian’s eyes before picking him up in a princess carry and moving him to sit down on the bed inside the room before she stormed out of there.

’Something might really happen if I were to stay there for even a second more.’ Yun Shu breathed deeply as she cleared her thoughts standing outside in the fresh air.

’I need to let him have some time to think it through. Since when have I been so impatient? It’s unlike me at all.’ Yun Shu pressed her forehead in annoyance after she discovered how impatient she was being with him.

Bai Yunxian had an instinctive fear towards man after suffering through a dark time for a long time, and Yun Shu was disguising herself as a man too.

It would be unfair to say that he only suffered from man, there are some women like Xia Ruoling who tortured him as well. His past fear and traumas weren’t something that he could forget easily, yet what did she do?

"Did that guy run away?" Yun Shu tapped on the table lightly with her fingers, engrossed in thoughts.

It seems that Shen Xia took advantage of the chaos going on and took his chance to escape. Yun Shu knew that this guy didn’t hold a lot of ideas in his head, it’s impossible for him to have an outsider helping him either, since he was considered the successor of his mother, a Demonic cultivator.

"We apologize, My Lord." The subordinates bowed down, apologizing sincerely.

"Well, it’s fine. Anyway, he won’t be able to stay alive for long." Yun Shu waved her hand as she dismissed them, since it was not their fault anyway.

"You are not gonna punish them? They did something wrong and deserve to get punished!" Yun Si was worked up after watching the subordinates leave without being subjected to disciplinary actions, he was utterly displeased and annoyed by this.

"You can’t accuse your subjects with every simple fault and throw them on the execution ground. If you do so, then you wouldn’t be a wise, ruler, but a selfish tyrant." Yun Shu was calm as he shot a quick glance at Yun Si, whose body stiffened after hearing the words coming out of her mouth.

"We need to stick to the rule of forgiveness over terror, unless you want to be stabbed in the back by the subordinates you believe and leave your back to." Yun Shu noticed the discontent on Yun Si’s face, but she didn’t point it out directly.

Because he was loved and praised by everyone since childhood, Yun Si grew up being reckless and a little selfish. The only person who criticized him like this was none other than Yun Shu herself, that’s why she felt like a thorn sticking out sorely in his thumb, that much was understandable of why he hated Yun Shu’s guts.
