The General's Daughter Doesn't Want to Get Married!-Chapter 209: Hello, Handsome!
Yun Shu felt a headache coming when she saw the bunch of kids trying to fight the evil cultivator bastards with all their strength.
It’s a complete chaos.
Maybe it would’ve been a little better if Bai Yunxian was with her...
Just as she was thinking with her eyes closed, Yun Shu felt a strong breeze brush past her, which seemed like someone just went past her, as fast as the wind, causing her to open her eyes in surprise.
A distant figure now stood at the edge of the field, backlit by flames, sword dripping with something dark.
His appearance was otherworldly.
Too flawless to be human.
Bathed in the dying glow of firelight, he looked like something carved from starlight and shadow, an immortal descending in the middle of a battlefield. His posture was languid, but there was a cruel elegance to it, like a sword resting in its sheath, sharp and waiting. A silver half-mask covered the upper half of his face, ornate and cold, hiding everything and revealing just enough to tempt curiosity.
But Yun Shu didn’t need to see his face. Rather, a corner of her face lifted up into a smug smirk.
She wouldn’t mistake that scent. The faint, clean note of mint carried by the wind. Not cloying, not artificial, but fresh like the air after rain, like crushed leaves between fingers. It was the same scent that used to linger faintly on her sleeves after he’d passed too close, the one that clung stubbornly to her memories no matter how hard she tried to forget.
Even masked, even cloaked in darkness, he couldn’t hide from her. Not from her senses. Not from her soul.
He was pretending to be someone else. Something else.
He was also pretending to not know her, but that’s fine. Yun Shu was good at pretending too.
’Did he know it’s me? I don’t think so. Is it because I ’resemble’ Yun Shu by wearing the same style of outfit? That’s interesting.’
’I’ll play along, I want to see how long he can take my ’advances’!’
The disciples of the Azure Sword Sect were in awe after witnessing such monstrous strength coming from a stranger who descended from somewhere unexpectedly.
Especially Feng Shao, who couldn’t make right from wrong, he couldn’t understand this person’s reason to help them. Whether he was an enemy or a friend, Feng Shao couldn’t decide until they made an official conversation.
Feeling a cool sensation on his shoulder, Feng Shao almost jumped in fright as he turned around to face the person, only to discover Yun Shu standing behind him with a smile that couldn’t exactly be described as one.
"Senior, what are you doing here? We’ll take care of this mess, please wait a bit.." Feng Shao trailed off as he saw her put a finger on her lips, gesturing him to stop talking.
"Senior brother, do you know this person? His strength is so terrifying and overwhelming, did we know someone like him before?" One of the girls raised her concern.
Because the person before them has overwhelming strength, they couldn’t help but be wary.
"Don’t worry, that person is my acquaintance." Yun Shu giggled like a little girl happy over her candy.
"What is..." Feng Shao wanted to say something more, but he couldn’t end his words when he saw Yun Shu approaching the masked man without any fear.
Instead, she seemed to have a teasing smile plastered on her face as she approached the man.
"Hello handsome, you feel familiar. Have we met somewhere before?" Yun Shu gave off a teasing smile as she sneaked a glance at him, invading his off-limits closely.
She tilted her head slightly, letting her gaze drag lazily over his broad shoulders, the dark robes tailored too well to be humble, the flash of steel at his side.
"Thank you for saving me, mighty cultivator," she said, voice light with a hint of teasing, just enough to make his shoulders stiffen ever so slightly. "I almost thought you flew down from the heavens. You’re not... married, are you?"
The silence that followed was thick. He didn’t respond, no, he didn’t even look at her directly.
Ah, she thought, amusement flickering in her chest like a tiny flame. There it is.
He didn’t want to confirm whether he was married or not? Don’t tell me he recognized me?
She took another step forward, just a little too close. Just enough to see the faint shadow of tension in his neck.
"I’ve always liked men in masks," she said in a mock whisper. "So mysterious. So... reserved. Makes me want to peel it off."
His hand twitched near the hilt of his sword. Not to attack. But to steady himself.
And that was all the confirmation she needed.
Strangely enough, Bai Yunxian didn’t push or evade her, just standing tall with a stiff body, not moving as he observed her face silently.
Then after a long time, he finally answered her with a small, "No."
Ha?
Look at him acting like this when he is being too obvious? Does he really think we just resemble each other, not the same person?
Yun Shu’s fighting spirit was triggered as she gave off an irritated, yet flirting smile. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
"No? Impossible! You, you look like my children’s father!" Yun Shu exclaimed as she pointed her finger toward him shamelessly, speaking out loudly and deliberately.
"Tell me, handsome. Have we met before?" Yun Shu started following behind Bai Yunxian when he was busy checking the dead bodies.
Though they were nothing special and came from a small no-name sect, they dared to break the rules and kill people. He needs to get justice for them, doesn’t he?
Bai Yunxian didn’t respond to the woman flirting and acting coy around him, which left Feng Shao and the others speechless.
They never thought the reserved and powerful senior would actually act like a little girl with a crush like this, much less to say, for some reason, Feng Shao felt his ego hurt a little.
