THE GOD EATER-Chapter 203: Maybe A Little Bit.
One of the giants was holding an axe while the other one was holding a long spear. He felt that they were cheating because they were also both wearing gauntlets on their hand.
This time, he was so incensed that he didn’t keep his complaints to himself. He went over to the microphone to speak into it so that the giants could hear what he had to say.
He shouted at them through the speaker, saying, "Isn’t your sect motto to be a cool man who relies on only the strength of his hands? What’s this with your weapons and armor? Wouldn’t your sect look down on you for this?"
The two giants looked at each other, wondering who he was speaking to, so he made things clear by saying, "I’m talking to the two of you, so incapable that you have to use weapons and armor?"
Without waiting for them to reply, he said, "You should be ashamed of yourself. If I didn’t know better, I would have thought that you were silly forgers, not proud warriors, because of the way you look."
His words got to them and made them angry, so they both turned away from the city and started flying straight towards his position. Even without being able to see their faces, Loki was able to tell that they were angry with him.
This made him say, "Oh dear, I might have overdone it a little bit."
He said that into the microphone so that they could hear him. Before they could think that he said that because he was afraid of them, he said, "Who would have thought that the two of you have such fragile emotions? If I had known, I would have tried to spear your fragile hearts by being less honest about how shameless you are."
Ivory heard this and slapped his forehead as he said with exasperation, "Is this a second Greg? Is he suicidal?"
Loki wasn’t suicidal, but he continued to say things that would anger the giants. This, in turn, made the giants fly towards him at a faster speed.
Meanwhile, he said to himself, "These guys really have fragile emotions."
To be honest, he didn’t think that what he said would be so successful in riling up the giants. He had only started to say what he said because he wanted to make a noise that would distract the warriors from the fact that he had activated the airship.
He was hoping that they would focus on his words more and ignore the rising airship. His plan was to open fire on them from the side when they were busy fighting the defenders of the city.
But instead of going after the city, they had come straight for him. So what he didn’t want to happen still occurred.
Still, he wasn’t flustered. He said to himself, "They are just two rank 4 giants. It is not as if I haven’t killed giants before."
He said that as he went to the flax gun. There were two flak guns standing at the edge of the deck. He grabbed hold of one of them and trained it on the giants. Then he fired it.
The flak gun fired an explosive round that exploded as soon as it came near the two giants. The two giants tried to avoid it, but the explosion scattered shrapnel in a wide area, which made it far more difficult to dodge.
Both giants were caught head-on. Unfortunately, they were mostly unharmed because of the armor and their strong bodies. The only result of the collision was small bleeding injuries on their bodies, which the armor couldn’t cover.
Loki wasn’t disappointed by this outcome, though. He said to himself, "Slow and steady wins the race."
Then he unleashed more of the firepower of the flak gun on them. He bombarded their area with rounds that exploded and filled their surrounding area with showers of fast-moving metal fragments.
In response to the attack, the two giants fell to the ground to weather the explosions. They couldn’t avoid the attacks on the ground, but the ground beneath their feet gave them the support that the air lacked.
Once they got their feet on the ground, they stopped being blown away by the explosions. The rain of shrapnel was still falling on them, but now they could continue rushing forward at him even if the explosion happened right in front of their faces.
Actually, only one of the giants was still rushing headlong into the explosion to reach him. This was the giant who was wielding an axe. The other one had taken off to the side and was trying to flank him.
What surprised him about this second giant was her speed. They were so fast that he could barely keep his eyes on them.
The way they were moving made him widen his eyes in shock and say, "Holy shit, that’s fast."
He had heard from the other captains that giants can be fast with the right Life Ability, but this was definitely the first time that he had seen such a thing.
The giants that he was used to were lumbering ogres capable of smashing down the walls of fortresses, but lacked agility or any grace while doing so. But this giant, who was wielding a spear, had opened his eyes to another capability of giants.
As impressive as this sight was, he couldn’t appreciate it because it was creating a big problem for him. He had to focus on this problem and find a solution for it, not admire the speed of a giant.
The fast-moving giant was already difficult to track because she was like a roadrunner. She was fast, and she was coming at him from the side, so if he wanted to target her, he would have to ignore the lumbering giant coming straight at him from the front.
This arrangement made it difficult for him to target the two of them at the same time. He had to give up one for the other. This frustrated and made him curse.
