THE GOD EATER-Chapter 217: First And Second Plan.
As he left the market, he said to himself, "At least, with this, I will be able to bring in the Sword Heart Metac for the defense against the curse. With it working together with the Rewind Metac, the defense will have a stronger power output."
All in all, he was in a good mood. After all, he had just completed his plan for the active defense plan that he prepared to deal with the curse.
The passive defense plan is to prevent Skarg from finding him and using the curse on him, while the active defense plan is to block the curse from killing him if he fails to stop Skarg from using the curse.
Now that he completed the preparation of the active defense plan, he can focus on completing the more complicated passive defense plan. The next step is to leave the city and address the root problem.
He left the city and went in the direction of the farm of the Rein Family. It was easy for him to return there because he was familiar with the way.
He didn’t take any form of transportation there because he didn’t want anyone to know what he was doing. He simply chose to fly there.
He used the Shifting Armor Life Ability to fly there instead of using it to empower his body because he didn’t want to leave any tracks on the ground that could be traced.
This option was also the fastest option since the power of his mind had been raised to rank 3 with consumable Metacs, while the power of his body is still hovering at 0.6 points.
So he was able to arrive early with flying. The only disadvantage was that it consumed a lot more energy than running would have consumed.
Despite the speed of flying, it still took him more than nine hours to get there. So it was past 5 pm when he arrived at the farm.
After he arrived, he looked at the large sprawling fields of wheat and said with nostalgia, "Is this home sweet home? I wonder if anyone will welcome me back with open arms."
He doubts that anyone will be happy to see him or treat him well for returning. Unfortunately for him, he won’t be able to confirm his suspicion because he doesn’t want anyone to know that he is around.
He snuck around the farm and got some fuel. Then he went over to the mass grave and poured all of the fuel into the open graves.
The next thing he did was pour a lot of hay on top of the graves. Then he set the mass graves on fire.
After doing all of these, he took some time to admire his handiwork. As he looked at the roaring fire, he said, "That should solve it. If it doesn’t, then I can only rely on the Curse Mirror Metac and the Prestine Sword Metac."
This is the second-to-last step in his passive defense plan. He came up with this step because he wanted to deprive Skarg of the bones needed to produce the effigy.
He would have loved to dig up and destroy the corpses of his siblings, but he doesn’t know where exactly they are buried, and he doesn’t have time to dig them up.
So instead of wasting his time, he decided to do something more efficient. And while this large fire will draw some attention to what he did, it won’t draw attention to him for a while.
Besides, he also did something to cover his tracks. What he did will make it difficult to tie the fire back to him. This way, the attention created by setting the fire to the mass graves will be easy to deal with.
While he was admiring his work, he heard the shouts of people screaming about the fire. So he clapped his hands and said, "That’s that for that. It is time to go."
Then he turned to leave. He began his last step in the passive defense plan, which is to go to the earthly battlefield discreetly.
He had decided not to take the logistics ship at the sect grounds to the earthly battlefield. His plan is to go to another city and take a commercial airship with fake credentials to the world barrier in the north. From there, he will make his way to Earthly Battlefield E6-137.
This last step is to prevent Skarg from being able to find him easily. When he thought of this, he smirked and said, "I can’t make it easy for that old guy, or poor blabbermouth Muni would have died in vain."
He smirked because he was in a good mood. He is in a good mood because he has done a lot to neutralize the threat of the curse.
He doesn’t consider his plans to be perfect, but he is sure that the things he has done will make things more difficult for Skarg. This belief filled him with a certain sense of accomplishment.
Of course, this isn’t enough to satisfy him. Running around and hiding his tracks is not good enough for him at all. His preferred plan is still to get rid of Skarg and the Rein Family as a threat.
When he thought of this, he sneered and said, "Just you wait, old man. When I advance to rank 4, I will come for you."
Then he focused on the road. This is something he had to do because visibility was reducing rapidly.
By now, it was already past 6 pm in the evening. So it was already dusk, and it would become completely dark in one more hour. But there was no stopping him.
He flew through the night for hours until he arrived at the next city. He was in a hurry to arrive at Earthly Battlefield E6-137, so he didn’t want to waste any time.
Fortunately, he arrived in the next city early enough. All he had to do was change his clothes before he boarded an airship going to the Northern World Barrier.
