The Grants: Choosing One Between The Two-Chapter 192: Did Yvette Aston Give Birth to Twins Back Then?
"Little tagalong, how did you find us?" Afraid that the child might cry and upset Yvette, Ethan Grant got out of bed and opened the door.
The little guy completely ignored Ethan Grant, slipped past him, and dashed into the room, jumping straight into Yvette’s arms. "Mommy, I hacked the hotel system."
"..." Yvette was shocked. "The hotel system is something you can just hack into?"
"I distracted the receptionist." Baron said casually, clearly at ease with such things.
"Still a little genius..." Yvette coaxed with a smile. "Did your dad and uncles know you ran out?"
Baron snorted. "Dad is a bad guy."
Yvette glanced nervously at Ethan Grant, so it seemed he had run off again.
Ethan Grant was a bit displeased, was this little guy going to cling to Yvette?
"I’ll call his dad." Ethan Grant picked up the phone to call Harrison Sterling.
"Don’t call, he’s not actually my dad." Baron pounced and hugged Ethan Grant, tears in his eyes as he pitifully spoke. "Someone left me at his doorstep, he took me in, but I know he’s not my real dad."
Ethan Grant was puzzled, looking at the little one clutching his leg, a shock ran through his heart.
This expression, this action, was just like the first time Summers met him at the Grant Family, clinging to his leg begging him to protect Yvette.
"Are you sure, you only had one?" Ethan Grant suspiciously looked at Yvette.
Yvette was confused by Ethan Grant’s question.
When she first found out she was pregnant, Yvette was very scared, afraid to go out, let alone get a check-up.
That year, just after the real and fake daughters’ scandal came to light, Yvette returned to The Summers Family, where Caden Summers and his mother took care of her.
Yvette only remembered that she was very thin at the time, but her belly was astonishingly large.
And after Summers was born, she only weighed four pounds and five ounces...
But Yvette couldn’t believe such a coincidence.
It was impossible.
Caden Summers was also in the hospital when she gave birth.
Caden Summers wouldn’t lie to her.
"Just Summers." Yvette replied confidently.
"Mommy, you are my mommy." Baron’s eyes reddened, hugging Yvette tightly and not letting go. "I know you are my mommy."
"This little guy is probably just attached to you because you saved him." Ethan Grant explained. "Running off like this, your family will worry, even if you don’t like your dad, do you want to make grandma worry?"
Baron thought for a moment, sniffed. "Alright, but I want to stay with mommy."
Ethan Grant didn’t care and just wanted to get this little tagalong out of the way.
To not disturb his and Yvette’s time together.
Finally getting a chance for a vacation.
After sending Harrison Sterling a message, it wasn’t long before the Sterling Family showed up.
"Baron, how did you trouble Auntie again?" Aron Sterling apologized. "The kid just likes you too much."
Yvette shook her head.
"Yvette, it’s clear Baron really likes you." Sean Sterling saw Baron hiding behind Yvette and made a suggestion. "Since you’re also here for the wedding, why not let Baron stay with you until the wedding is over?"
"I disagree!" Ethan Grant directly refused.
What a joke?
Finally on vacation.
"Mr. Grant, you should have some compassion." Harrison Sterling mocked Ethan Grant.
"Compassion? He’s not my son. If I’m so compassionate, might as well let me sit as The Sentinel of Orin." Ethan Grant sullenly sat at the side.
He didn’t agree.
If it were Summers, fine, but a stranger’s little rascal, no way.
"Yvette, Ethan Grant is cold-blooded, has no compassion, I suggest you leave him and choose someone else." Aron Sterling stood in front of Yvette like a display. "Like me."
"Mr. Grant is not that kind of person." Yvette said, a bit unhappy, not wanting to hear others speak ill of him.
Aron Sterling couldn’t read the room. "Ethan Grant, you don’t lack women around you, let Yvette be mine, you can name your price."
"I heard, your Grant Group is quite chaotic inside, you came out early this time because you were dismissed? How about you give Yvette to me, and our Sterling Family will help you regain control of the company, how about that?" Sean Sterling also began bargaining with Ethan Grant.
Ethan Grant’s current situation was quite dangerous.
Yvette looked at Ethan Grant nervously, worried he might really sell her out.
"So arrogant?" Ethan Grant sneered. "Is there an animal protection society sheltering you?"
Yvette was taken aback, then burst into laughter.
Sean Sterling snorted, visibly displeased with Ethan Grant.
Harrison Sterling hadn’t spoken, and after a long silence, he finally spoke. "You all leave, I’ll talk with Baron and Yvette."
"Why should we?" Sean Sterling and Aron Sterling objected first.
Ethan Grant felt the Sterling Family just couldn’t grasp the situation. "Harrison Sterling, if you’re unwell, go see a doctor, take your little tagalong and go out."
Harrison Sterling knew Ethan Grant was difficult, so he turned to Yvette, speaking quietly near her ear. "You, as the CEO’s assistant, are well aware of the Grant Group’s situation. If the Sterling Family supports Ethan Grant, the desert project would solidify his position in the Grant Group."
Yvette tightened her hold on Baron, admitting that Harrison Sterling made a point.
The desert project was crucial for Ethan Grant at this stage.
Jayden Grant had hired hackers to sabotage the project plans, any mistakes would be catastrophic.
Yvette wanted to give Ethan Grant some reassurance.
"Yvette." Ethan Grant reminded Yvette not to listen to Harrison Sterling.
"Mr. Grant..." Yvette looked at Ethan Grant nervously. "This is not a solution, I’ll go out and discuss the child’s issue with President Sterling, is that okay?"
Ethan Grant frowned.
But Yvette’s pleading eyes made it hard for him to refuse.
"Harrison Sterling, I warn you, talk only about the matters concerning the little tagalong, nothing else." Ethan Grant warned Harrison Sterling not to speak out of place.
"Does Mr. Grant have fears too?" Harrison Sterling sneered. "Afraid Yvette will know you toyed with my sister’s feelings, or that she’ll find out about your past with numerous women?" 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
"Harrison Sterling!" Ethan Grant frowned, those were cheap tricks to cause discord.
"Mr. Grant..." Yvette quickly stood up to hold Ethan Grant. "I’ll be back after sending Baron off."
Yvette picked up Baron and left following Harrison Sterling.
Harrison Sterling took Yvette to the resort’s leisure area, not speaking along the way.
It wasn’t until Yvette sat down with Baron that he spoke coldly. "To have both my brothers and Baron like you, you must have some skill."
Yvette knew Harrison Sterling was mocking her.
Lowering her head, Yvette said nothing.
"I am grateful you saved Baron, but I still don’t trust you, given your past record." Harrison Sterling referred to extortion and blackmail.
Even though Yvette bravely went into the sea to save Baron, Harrison Sterling still felt she had ulterior motives.
"Why not just state your purpose, making Baron dependent on you, making my brother have a good impression of you, you previously tried every means to cling to Ethan Grant, now you want to use him as a stepping stone to cling to our Sterling Family, your true intentions might as well be revealed."
Though grateful Yvette saved Baron, if she were honest with her intentions, whatever she wanted he would satisfy.
Yvette took a deep breath, indeed... once tainted, it’s hard to restore one’s image in others’ eyes regardless of actions.
"President Sterling, if you want to talk about this, then there’s no need to continue." Yvette rubbed Baron’s head. "What makes you so confident to think the Sterling Family is above Ethan Grant? In my heart, he is the peak, I don’t need to use him as a stepping stone to cling to anyone else."
