The Grants: Choosing One Between The Two-Chapter 194: Ethan Grant to Announce His Married Status
Having lulled Baron to sleep, Yvette Aston finally managed to slip away.
She discreetly placed the business card in her suitcase, then wrapped her arms around Ethan Grant from behind. "Let’s switch to another vacation hotel. If the little guy wakes up crying and comes looking for me..."
The holiday would be wasted.
She wanted to spend more time with Ethan Grant.
This vacation might be the last time she would be with him.
To have him temporarily, at least, was a form of happiness.
Ethan Grant had just finished a call with Christopher Carter, and was a bit surprised to find Yvette actively embracing him.
"What did Harrison Sterling say to you?" How did she suddenly become so proactive? Ethan Grant found it a bit unsettling.
"Mom, I want Mommy, Mommy..." Outside, Baron’s cries grew more distant.
It was clear Harrison Sterling had forcibly taken Baron away.
Yvette anxiously glanced at Ethan Grant.
Their eyes met.
After a brief moment of contemplation, Ethan quickly packed their things with deft efficiency. "Let’s go!"
We must not let that little one cling to us again.
Even though Yvette couldn’t bear to hear Baron cry, she held back her pain, grabbed Ethan’s wrist, and ran.
She had her own son, and besides, Baron wasn’t her child...
Though it pained her, she couldn’t take care of someone else’s child forever.
Ethan Grant watched as Yvette, holding his wrist, led the way with a smile. "Haven’t you told me what Harrison Sterling said to you?"
Yvette stopped, looked back at Ethan Grant. "He thought I was using you as a stepping stone, trying to attach myself to the Sterling Family."
Ethan stepped forward, frowning. "And what did you say?"
"I said..." Yvette took a deep breath, mustering her courage.
Some words, if not spoken today, might never have the chance to be said.
"I said, Mr. Grant is the pinnacle in my heart. I don’t need to use you as a stepping stone to cling to anyone," Yvette smiled, a smile full of warmth.
Under the sunlight, she seemed to be glowing.
Ethan’s heart skipped a beat; that feeling of attraction... was this sensation.
He pulled Yvette into his arms, laughed softly, and said, "With me, you have enough; you don’t need to cling to anyone else."
Even if only to make sure Yvette would always want to be attached to him, he needed to try even harder.
...
After switching hotels, Ethan called Christopher Carter. "The plan remains the same, but it may have to be moved up; Arthur Grant is losing patience."
Christopher Carter informed Ethan that the Bell Family and Grant Family had met today and even had dinner together.
Behind his back, they had secretly arranged his marriage.
Ha...to put it nicely, he was Arthur Grant’s son; to put it bluntly, he was just a pawn.
A pawn used to protect interests.
Yvette emerged from the bathroom, barefoot, with wet hair and still damp skin.
She wore only a towel, standing on the carpet, feeling awkward and uneasy.
Unlike usual, today, Yvette’s awkwardness was about how to be more proactive...
She wanted to use the little time she had to do more things to make Ethan happy.
Because Ethan was the only one who had considered her education and her five years of wrongful imprisonment.
A person’s heart is made of flesh; she clearly knew who was good to her and who was not.
"Mr. Grant," Yvette said softly, her ears flushed bright red.
"Want me to blow-dry your hair?" Ethan hung up the phone, came over, and ruffled Yvette’s wet hair. "Dry it, or you’ll catch a cold."
Yvette thought, she’d have to shower again after sweating, so she might as well do everything and then wash up.
So she rose on tiptoe and kissed Ethan on the lips.
Ethan was stunned for quite a while.
Today’s Yvette was proactively making him a little panic-stricken.
Squinting, Ethan cupped Yvette’s head and kissed her hard.
"What got into you?" Ethan asked suspiciously.
Yvette said nothing, just undid Ethan’s shirt buttons one by one...
Ethan gasped; the intangible teasing was already lethal enough, not to mention such overt flirtation.
"Yvette..." Ethan thought he might really die in Yvette’s hands.
Because it was willingly.
"Do you want something from me?" Ethan was anxious.
Yvette’s personality was incredibly soft; she’d only whimper twice if he squeezed her sideways or rubbed her this way or that. Today, she proactively initiated.
This left Ethan feeling uncertain.
"It’s... Holly Ziegler taught me to be proactive..." Yvette stammered.
In truth, her heart was aching.
She feared losing Ethan.
But if her presence only brought him bad effects.
She would rather walk away.
"Holly is quite something..." Ethan chuckled. "I’ve already asked Christopher to arrange a new place and job for her."
Ethan raised a brow, waiting for Yvette’s praise.
Yvette looked at Ethan in shock, her eyes bright and beautiful.
"Mr. Grant... did you arrange everything for Holly?" Yvette was a bit excited.
Ethan’s lips curled up. "For all her efforts teaching my wife..."
Yvette’s ears turned red.
Wife...
The term could truly make one lose reason.
Yvette embraced Ethan actively, attempting to kiss his Adam’s apple.
Holly said, that’s a man’s sensitive area.
"..." Ethan felt his string of reason snap entirely, pulling her into his arms and lifting her onto the wash basin.
"Flirting with fire again."
Ethan complained wistfully.
Each time Yvette kindled a fire, she never put it out properly, always crying and begging for mercy.
He’d soften his heart...
This time, however, he couldn’t afford to soften.
With a flushed face, Yvette touched Ethan’s face more boldly.
This man was just so perfect.
There truly was such a perfect man.
Will he always be this good?
But she had to leave eventually...
Sighing, Yvette hugged Ethan tightly, "Ethan Grant, did you see the news? Mr. Arthur Grant seems to have really agreed to the marriage with the Bell Family..."
Ethan frowned, knowing something was off with Yvette.
So she had seen the news back home.
"Yes, I saw that. The marriage he agreed to, let him have it," Ethan said in a low voice. "It has nothing to do with me; I have a wife, protected by law."
Ethan had already decided that if Arthur pressured him upon returning to the country, he’d post their marriage photos on social media.
See what tricks Arthur could have up his sleeve then.
Try to threaten him with shares? Just let him try.
He had only been away a few days, and the Grant Group had become a mess.
Jayden Grant was unworthy of the position, and the directors knew it best.
What can he stir up by making a fuss? Nothing.
He was quite looking forward to it.
With a cold sneer, Ethan held Yvette in his arms. "Don’t worry."
He would make their marriage public.
Turn the Bell Family into clowns once again.
Such people deserve no sympathy.
The Bell Family deserved no mercy.
