The Grants: Choosing One Between The Two-Chapter 199: Jayden Grant Uses His Nephew to Take Away Summers
Chelsea Grant looked at Jayden Grant in shock, as if she couldn’t believe it. "What do you want to do?"
Since when did her brother even start calculating against children?
Lowering her voice, Chelsea whispered, "Are you crazy?"
"Stephen?" Arthur Grant asked.
Obviously, Arthur was also someone who would stop at nothing to achieve his goals.
Ethan Grant’s capabilities were clear to the entire Grant Group. Arthur’s decision to give Ethan a ’vacation’ was meant to intimidate him, but the company found they couldn’t function without Ethan.
Now that Ethan was using this as an excuse not to return, Arthur was becoming anxious.
He now had to use every possible means to lure him back.
"Dad... The Sinclair Family hasn’t been caring much about Stephen recently, and I can’t manage him. Stephen doesn’t want to go home; he’s been staying with Summers at my brother’s," Chelsea whispered.
In fact, the day she got drunk and forgot about Stephen, Ethan was willing to take care of him and brought him home, making Stephen unwilling to leave. Chelsea was quite surprised.
In Chelsea’s memory, Ethan always seemed aloof, as if he looked down on both her and Jayden.
Surely, Ethan must also look down on Stephen.
But unexpectedly, Stephen liked his uncle very much.
He even cried, saying he didn’t want to go home.
This indicated that Ethan was deeply invested in Stephen.
This caught Chelsea off guard and moved her a little.
"Have Stephen lure that little brat Summers away, and ensure the Summers Family can’t find him for a while. When something happens, Caden will surely call Yvette, and when Yvette returns, Ethan will naturally come back too," Jayden suggested.
"Jayden Grant!" Chelsea was somewhat angry. "Even using children, Stephen is only five years old. What do you intend to do?"
"It’s not using him, it’s just having him take Summers out to play. Our people will be watching in the background; nothing will happen," Jayden frowned.
"I don’t agree," Chelsea was somewhat upset.
She wouldn’t let her son do such a thing.
Even if nothing happened, once Ethan found out, how would Stephen face his uncle in the future?
"Do as Jayden says," Arthur asserted in a deep voice, clearly thinking this would bring Ethan back.
"I think your brother has been enchanted by that little vixen!" Arthur said angrily.
"This Yvette is just trouble. Look at how she messed up our Jayden back then..." Melody Crowe’s eyes reddened, her acting spot-on. "She’s that kind of trouble. Look at anyone associated with her. Which family turned out well?"
She added, "The Aston Family caused their biological daughter to go missing for over twenty years and left Charlotte with a lifetime of illness. Look at the Bell Family. Claudia is too afraid to return to the country now because of her. Once those so-called victims come out, if Claudia comes back, she might end up in jail."
Melody was furious. "I see Yvette as a jinx, here to seek revenge everywhere. The Aston Family isn’t spared either, and the adoptive parents who raised her for so many years never have a good word to say about her."
Jayden frowned and didn’t defend Yvette.
These people only knew the current fate of the Aston and Bell Families, but they didn’t know the even worse things those families had done to Yvette.
"The Bell Family is suffering due to Claudia’s own actions. She’s been unruly since childhood. I’ve known about far more than this. I remember she blinded a classmate in elementary school; she’s really troublesome. Her not being able to return is just karma, and it has little to do with Yvette. Does she even have such abilities?" Chelsea spoke reason, trying to be fair.
Melody glared at Chelsea, saying nothing more.
Jayden remained silent for a long time before speaking. "Sis, I’ll pick up Stephen tonight."
Chelsea frowned. "Jayden Grant, I advise you to think this thing over carefully."
Though she didn’t like Yvette and was jealous of her to the point of madness, even enjoying seeing others bully Yvette while she stood idly by, involving children... she was not happy about it.
"Don’t worry about it," Jayden got up and left the Grant Family.
What he wanted was to gradually climb to the highest position and have Ethan trampled underfoot.
He wanted to completely drive Ethan out of the Grant Group.
On that day, he wanted to see what Ethan was capable of, still as proud as a king high above.
...
Meridia, artificial island.
This was a pending development resort. The scenery was beautiful, yet to open to the public, and very quiet.
At the center of the island was a luxurious hotel already constructed but not yet in use.
The resort’s concierge drove a sightseeing car, taking Yvette for a tour of the area. "Miss, have you heard of this place?"
Yvette was very surprised and shook her head. "I’ve heard reports; it’s a pending vacation zone under Citadel Properties."
"Yes, yes," the concierge said with a smile, taking Yvette to the hotel.
The hotel had a homestay style: split-level small villas on the first and second floors with large garden yards, an open rooftop garden, twinkling lights at night, backed by beaches and the sea, very beautiful.
Ideal for honeymoon trips or wedding ceremonies.
Over the years, Citadel has risen as a new power, surpassing the Grant Group in real estate and venture capital sectors, forcing the Grant Group to maintain a polite distance in those areas.
Yvette had researched Citadel.
As she needed to select a good exit path for Ethan, she sought powerful partners for him, like the Sterling and Bell Families, making Arthur hesitant to act recklessly.
Citadel was the most secretive among all enterprises.
To date, Yvette had not found out who was behind Citadel.
The business circle’s people highly anticipated Citadel’s actions. Some said it was overseen by an M citizen of Chinese descent; others said it was foreign investment under a randomly chosen legal representative. Regardless, nobody knew who truly controlled the company.
In the last five years, Citadel’s development trajectory was likened to that of a dark horse suddenly charging into the business arena.
"Yvette, come here," Ethan Grant, clad in swimwear, waved at Yvette from the hotel.
Yvette jumped off the sightseeing car, running over with excitement. "Mr. Grant! This is Citadel’s still-closed resort!"
Ethan, seeing how happy Yvette was, also smiled. "Yes."
"It’s currently closed to the public. I heard the chairman of Oceanic United wanted to hold his daughter’s wedding banquet here, but the president of Citadel didn’t accommodate him!" Yvette almost jumped with joy, feeling hopeful.
"Who told you that? Pure gossip," Ethan laughed. "Come on, let’s go for a swim."
Yvette, however, was too excited for swimming. "Mr. Grant! Do you know Citadel’s president?"
If Ethan could connect with Citadel’s president and form a project partnership, even if Arthur wanted to expel Ethan from the Grant Group, he’d have to consider it carefully.
Looking at her, Ethan hesitated, "I suppose... I do."
Yvette was a bit thrilled. The closed vacation area was rumored to be Citadel’s president’s private domain. The staff claimed their president’s wedding would take place here and that it wouldn’t be opened to the public until after their president used it.
If Ethan could bring her here, surely he knew the president well!
At least, they must be good friends.
"Mr. Grant, could we negotiate a project collaboration with Citadel?" Excited, Yvette ran to grab a tablet, ready to get down to business.
