The Grants: Choosing One Between The Two-Chapter 202: Is Arthur Grant Targeting Yvette Aston?
Stephen Sinclair’s voice was extremely loud, and his wailing could be heard for miles around.
Michelle Lockwood, still searching outside, suddenly stopped in her tracks.
Wasn’t that the cry of the little tagalong?
"Over there!"
Michelle Lockwood, with a grim expression, walked to the small warehouse door and glanced inside. "Summers?"
"Sister!" Summers happily smiled at Michelle Lockwood. "Don’t worry, Stephen Sinclair and I are here. We should have been released from school; the uncle in charge of the warehouse accidentally locked the door."
Summers, being kind-hearted, first explained on behalf of the warehouse keeper.
The uncle locks the door at a set time, and the teacher probably didn’t inform him that they were inside looking for things.
"Step aside." Michelle Lockwood motioned for Summers to step back.
She couldn’t wait for the principal to fetch the key.
With a swift kick, Michelle Lockwood opened the door and held Summers in her arms. "Were you scared?"
Summers shook his head and pointed to the crying mess of Stephen Sinclair. "He’s scared."
Michelle Lockwood glanced disdainfully at the nose-running, bubble-blowing Stephen Sinclair. "Coward."
Despite the disdain, Michelle Lockwood still gathered Stephen Sinclair in her arms; after all, children need comforting.
"The teacher told us to go to the warehouse to get the little flower baskets we made ourselves. She said after school we could give them to our parents, and they would be happy. Summers came along to keep me company." Stephen Sinclair cried.
Because he wanted his parents to like him more, as his mom said she would pick him up from school today.
That little flower basket was made by Summers to give to Stephen Sinclair’s mom.
But the teacher confiscated it during recess.
Summers and Stephen Sinclair asked the teacher where the flower baskets were, and she said they were in the warehouse and to find them themselves.
Michelle Lockwood squinted her eyes, turning back to look at the principal. "Your teacher is quite something, isn’t she? Letting two five-year-olds go to find things in the warehouse without informing or accompanying them, and without permission, discarding the children’s belongings?"
"It’s the teacher’s negligence; we will fire her immediately." The principal considered this an extremely harsh punishment, since no harm came to the children.
"Fire her? So easy to let her off? I see this as not negligence but attempted harm. Call the police and have them investigate whether this teacher has received any large amounts of unexplained income recently." Michelle Lockwood signaled her subordinates to call the police.
The teacher and principal’s faces turned pale with fear, their voices trembling. "Miss Lockwood, the children are fine..."
"What is there to be afraid of? If you haven’t done anything wrong, don’t be scared of ghosts knocking on your door." Michelle Lockwood pointed at the principal. "Investigate him too, see if there’s any unexplained income."
Dare to target Summers? Get them all locked up.
Bribery alone is enough to imprison him.
The principal almost fainted at the thought of being investigated himself.
This kindergarten, being Meridia’s best high-end kindergarten, had gray revenues and embezzlement sufficient to nail him to the wall.
"Miss Lockwood, please don’t do this; Summers and Stephen are safe. Spare us, grant us a way out." The teacher cried, pleading with Michelle Lockwood.
Michelle Lockwood held Stephen Sinclair, leading Summers, her cold gaze fixed on the teacher kneeling at her feet. "As a human, one must be down-to-earth. As a teacher, one must set an example. It was greed that harmed you. Whether you were bribed, if anyone directed you, you know best. Tell the truth now, and I might spare you."
Michelle Lockwood’s aura was too intense, and the teacher quivered with fear. "It was... it was Jayden Grant; he came to pick up Stephen Sinclair and asked me to find a way to make the child unavailable for pickup temporarily. I thought nothing would happen in such a short time..."
"Miss Lockwood, I swear, I never intended to harm the children."
Michelle Lockwood squinted, her expression darkened.
Jayden Grant, this was likely aimed at Ethan Grant.
Corporate rivalry, familial treachery, Jayden Grant may use any means, but to exploit a child is too despicable.
...
Michelle Lockwood’s villa.
Caden Summers rushed into the living room in panic, finally relaxing upon seeing Summers and Stephen Sinclair happily playing on the sofa with string games.
"Boss..." Caden Summers gratefully looked at Michelle Lockwood. "Thank you."
"How many ’thank yous’ do you owe me?" Michelle Lockwood, in silk pajamas, rested her head on her hand as she looked at Caden Summers.
Caden Summers coughed lightly. "I..."
"How are you going to thank me? Just a ’thank you’?" Michelle Lockwood lazily and alluringly crossed her legs, her fair, long legs clearly displayed for Caden Summers to see.
Caden Summers stiffened and quickly positioned himself in front of Summers and Stephen Sinclair, speaking helplessly. "The kids are here..."
Michelle Lockwood rolled her eyes. "Ethan Grant and Yvette Aston are back; they’ll be here soon to take away the little tagalongs. If you really want to thank me, don’t just say it—work overtime tonight..."
Caden Summers raised a hand to cover his forehead. "Boss, have some self-respect."
"Self-respect, self-respect, I’m perfectly fine standing at 5’8", weighing 108 pounds, with measurements of 35-24-35! Perfection itself, no need for self-respect..." Michelle Lockwood got up, intending to press against Caden Summers.
Caden Summers instinctively backed away, stumbling over the coffee table, and fell onto the sofa.
Michelle Lockwood fell over too, deliberately kissing him.
Summers reached to cover Stephen Sinclair’s eyes, sneaking a peek himself.
"Why hide the eyes?" Stephen Sinclair asked curiously.
"You talk too much." Summers whispered.
Stephen Sinclair obediently shut his mouth.
Then Summers giggled. "Uncle, when you kiss a girl, you must take responsibility."
Michelle Lockwood gave Summers a thumbs-up. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Her little one was indeed sensible.
Caden Summers’ face darkened with anger, but he had to endure due to Michelle Lockwood being his boss.
"Summers!" From outside, Yvette Aston also came running in.
Summers suddenly stood up, excitedly running over and throwing himself into Yvette Aston’s hug. "Mom! I missed you so much."
"And me?" Ethan Grant followed in and asked with a smile.
Summers looked at Ethan Grant joyfully. "I missed Dad too."
Caden Summers quickly sat up straight, standing to the side.
"Today we’ll take the two children home." Ethan Grant said with a smile.
"Ethan Grant, Jayden Grant and Melody Crowe are now utterly insane, even using children." Michelle Lockwood frowned, a bit displeased.
"Sorry, that’s my oversight." Ethan Grant had arranged for protection near the school for Summers but didn’t anticipate the teacher tricking Summers into the warehouse.
"Arthur Grant lured you back; he’s probably waiting at your place now, right?" Michelle Lockwood reminded Ethan Grant, indicating tonight wouldn’t be peaceful.
"Let them wait." Ethan Grant chuckled coldly, carrying Summers and Stephen Sinclair, leaving the Lockwood estate.
That evening, Ethan Grant, with Yvette Aston and the two little ones, stayed at a hotel.
Meanwhile, believing Ethan Grant would return home, Arthur Grant and Jayden Grant waited outside his residence for four hours without seeing him.
"Dad... it seems he’s not coming home tonight." Jayden Grant gritted his teeth as he spoke.
Arthur Grant’s expression was grim.
Ethan Grant had the household prepare food, pretending he would definitely return home tonight, just to toy with them!
"Is Yvette’s mother, who’s in prison, out now?" Arthur Grant asked suddenly.
Jayden Grant hesitated, feeling a tightness in his chest.
Was Arthur Grant planning to target Yvette Aston?
"Yes..."
"Bring her to see me; I want to have a chat with her." Arthur Grant said in a deep voice.
