Li Shiyun was feeling a bit of regret, thinking to herself, why did I bring this up for no reason?

But the words had already been spoken, and it was impossible to take them back, so she simply shook her head, about to say she didn’t want to go anymore, but her hand was pulled by Ling Feng, who started walking in the direction of Little Beiwa.

"I knew you were the best, Shiyun. If there are still fruits left, I’ll pick some extra for you to eat later!" Ling Feng said with a smile as they walked.

Li Shiyun was speechless in her heart, unable to pull her hand away and so resigned herself to follow Ling Feng towards the other side of the mountain.

Soon enough, they saw the tree in the depression of the mountain. Before they got close, Li Shiyun suddenly stopped in her tracks!

Ling Feng looked back at her, "What’s wrong?"

"This tree has grown taller!" Li Shiyun exclaimed in astonishment.

"Stop kidding, how is that possible? You and Jiaolan just came here to pick mushrooms a few days ago, how could it have grown that quickly?" Ling Feng laughed.

"Really, I’m not lying to you, this tree has grown quite a bit taller!" Li Shiyun urgently said.

Seeing her serious expression, Ling Feng finally believed this was not a prank, so he grabbed her hand and walked quickly to the tree. Once they got close, he looked at it with some confusion and said, "This is strange, I remember when we gathered Yuan Ling Grass on the opposite hillside last time, there didn’t seem to be this tree here, did there?"

"I don’t remember well, but last time this tree was only this thick, and now it has gotten twice as thick as before!" Li Shiyun gestured with her hands and said.

Ling Feng looked at the thick trunk of the tree and then raised his head to look at the enormous canopy that covered half of the sky, scratching his head in bewilderment.

This was very strange; a tree had suddenly appeared out of nowhere and was able to grow rapidly, but how?

As they were puzzling over this, Li Shiyun pointed upwards and said, "There’s not much fruit left, it looks like people from the village have been here to pick them, but do you see? There’s still some at the very top!"

"Alright, wait here, I’ll go pick some for you!"

"Be careful!" Li Shiyun immediately advised.

"No worries, I used to be an expert tree climber when I was younger. Watch me!" Ling Feng said proudly.

With a girl watching, he certainly wanted to show off his skills.

Soon, Ling Feng reached the top of the tree. The branches under his feet were only as thick as an arm, and with his weight on them, they started making creaking noises as if they were going to break any second.

Li Shiyun held her breath, standing below, feeling her palms begin to sweat.

If the branches were to break now and Ling Feng were to fall, she would definitely rush to catch him without any hesitation!

Fortunately, although the branches looked like they would break, their toughness was actually very good. Ling Feng stood on them and picked a lot of fruit to put into his pockets, and the branches remained solid.

"That’s enough, if you pick too much, we won’t be able to eat it all!" Li Shiyun said from below.

Ling Feng did not think the same way. He planned to pick more to take back so that Li Yumei and Ya Ya could also taste them; the mother and daughter had probably never eaten such fruit before.

As he was picking the fruit, a black shadow suddenly rushed up from below the mountain. Ling Feng saw it out of the corner of his eye and immediately froze for a moment.

In just an instant, the shadow was close, and it turned out to be Wang Cai!

"You rascal, how did you suddenly run up the mountain? Are you hunting rabbits?" Ling Feng asked, looking down.

Wang Cai just sat on the ground, looking up at him, intently staring at the fruit in his hand, with drool coming out!

Seeing this, Ling Feng was very curious, and casually tossed one down, "What? You like this fruit too?"

The fruit hadn’t even hit the ground when Wang Cai leapt up, catching it in his mouth and swallowing it!

Both Ling Feng and Li Shiyun were surprised at this scene; they had not expected him to actually eat it!

"Strange, isn’t Wang Cai a wolf? It should be a carnivore!" Li Shiyun said, puzzled.

"Yeah, it’s really bizarre. Too bad this fellow can’t talk, who knows what’s going on!"

Ling Feng chuckled wryly, casually picked a few fruits, and continued to toss them down.

Wang Cai caught all of them, hopping left and right, chewed a couple of times before swallowing them, and then contentedly howled at the sky twice.

"This is getting interesting."

Ling Feng looked around and noticed that all the fruits within reach had been picked by him, so he climbed down from the tree and returned to Li Shiyun’s side.

He then took out a fruit from his pocket and wiped it on his clothing, "Here, you eat one first!"

"Sure!" Li Shiyun smiled, took it, and bit into it with a small open mouth.

"Mmm!"

Her eyes immediately widened, and then she showed a blissful expression, her eyes curving into crescents, "So sweet!"

"It’s not your first time eating it, do you need to be so excited?"

Ling Feng laughed too, also took one and bit into it, the fruit flesh melting instantly in his mouth, and the sweet flavor stunned him for a moment!

The first time everyone had eaten this fruit, they had all thought it was delicious, but unexpectedly, within just a few days, its taste had become even better!

"What’s going on, could it be that the fruits we picked last time weren’t ripe, and this is how they taste after maturing?" Ling Feng asked Li Shiyun, looking at her.

"That must be it!" Li Shiyun, with a face of sheer indulgence, finished the fruit.

Ling Feng looked up at the tree, beginning to hatch a little scheme in his mind!

"Shiyun, if this tree could be propagated, wouldn’t that be a great money-making venture?"

"Definitely, I’ve never seen this fruit before, yet it’s so delicious, there would surely be a lot of people who’d buy it!" Li Shiyun nodded in agreement.

But after saying that, she couldn’t help but add, "It’s a pity, I’m afraid it won’t be so easy to accomplish."

Ling Feng also thought so, as the tree had emerged too mysteriously, and it grew so frighteningly fast, it was just wishful thinking to try to grow it on a large scale without understanding the reasons first!

So, he could only shake his head and chuckle wryly, "If it can’t be grown, let’s forget about it. If all else fails, we’ll just come back and pick the fruits when they’re ripe again tomorrow."

The two conversed under the tree, with Wang Cai initially squatting at their feet. Suddenly, Wang Cai stood up, ran to the base of the tree, and began to dig with its paws.

Ling Feng didn’t notice this, he looked up at the canopy, there were not many red fruits left, all of them hanging at the very tips of extremely thin branches, which were impossible to pick by hand, one could only wait for them to fall off on their own.

By that time, it was expected those fruits would end up benefitting Wang Cai.

Thinking this, he looked down to find Wang Cai and then noticed it was busy at work!

Seeing its movements, Ling Feng’s heartbeat suddenly picked up quite a bit!

Because he remembered last time, Wang Cai had also found that mysterious map on the mountain!

Now the creature was digging in the ground again, could there be some treasure hidden under the tree roots?

With a glimmer of hope, Ling Feng pulled Li Shiyun over to see, as Wang Cai’s paws ceaselessly dug the soft soil, creating a fairly large hole in a matter of moments.

But it had no intention of stopping, soon half of its body burrowed into the pit.

Ling Feng watched, somewhat speechless, then turned to Li Shiyun, "Is this guy really a wolf, or a groundhog?"

"Don’t talk nonsense!" Li Shiyun glared at him.
