Chapter 67: Chapter 67 Mo Jiaolan Also Arrives Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio

Ling Feng was startled when he heard that!

Mo Jiaolan could also come? That would be wonderful, but she’s busy with hotel business, how could she possibly have time?

So, with a wry smile, he shook his head, "She definitely won’t come. I think you just need to tell her you’re here."

"Really? Then you’re wrong!"

Chen Yuhe’s lips curled up as she took out her phone and called Mo Jiaolan.

After the call connected and she switched to speakerphone, an anxious voice immediately came through, "Yuhe, you little rascal, where on earth have you run off to? Why aren’t you answering your phone?"

"Sis, don’t worry, I’m at Ling Feng’s place," Chen Yuhe said with a smile.

Mo Jiaolan was taken aback, "Huh? I just called him, and he said you weren’t there!"

"I’ve just arrived, planning to stay here for a few days," Chen Yuhe said. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

After a moment of silence on the phone, Mo Jiaolan suddenly spoke, "Don’t wander off, just wait at his house, I’ll be right there!"

Right after saying that, the call was ended, and Chen Yuhe triumphantly showed her phone to Ling Feng, "How about that?"

Ling Feng was speechless!

Afterward, he smiled, "Alright, let her come then. We still have a lot of wolf meat left. We’ll use that to treat her tonight!"

Chen Yuhe gave him a suspicious look, then asked with a giggly smile, "Aren’t you very happy?"

"No, no, of course not, how could I be?" Ling Feng said with an awkward smile.

"Hmph! Just by looking at you, I can tell. Your eyes are shining because cousin sister is coming, and you’re still pretending!"

Chen Yuhe glared at him and, huffing, turned and walked away, heading straight for the inner room.

Just as Ling Feng was about to follow her, she closed the bedroom door, "I’m going to take a nap. Don’t you dare sneak in, or I’ll fight you to the death!"

The door banged shut, followed by the sound of the lock clicking, leaving Ling Feng torn between laughter and tears, thinking to himself, what on earth is happening here? This girl flips her mood faster than flipping through a book!

Standing at the door in a daze for a while, Ling Feng didn’t say anything and turned to leave.

He went to the breeding farm to feed the animals, and then he went to check on the fields.

It had only been half a day, and although he knew there wouldn’t be any changes, Ling Feng still held a sliver of hope.

But when he picked up a bag to inspect it, he saw that the black culture medium was already full of white mycelium, just like it was described in the book!

Ling Feng’s lips quirked up, "Old Du ah, Old Du, you said I was messing around. Wait till the mushrooms come out, and we’ll see what you have to say then!"

After patrolling his property, he returned home full of pride, hands behind his back. As he reached the entrance, he saw Mo Jiaolan’s car drive up.

"That was quick!"

As soon as Mo Jiaolan got out of the car, Ling Feng immediately said with a smile.

"Where’s Yuhe?" Mo Jiaolan asked anxiously.

"She’s in the inner room. She felt a bit sleepy and wanted to take a nap."

Mo Jiaolan finally breathed a sigh of relief, "As long as she’s here, you had me worried to death."

Ling Feng looked at her, "What exactly happened, what’s going on?"

"It’s a long story. Basically, she’s had a falling out with the family and ended up running away from home, driving her aunt and uncle nearly to the brink of insanity," Mo Jiaolan said with a sigh.

"Is that necessary? She’s an adult, just going out for a few days, why worry so much?" Ling Feng said, perplexed.

"You don’t know the details, forget it, I’ll talk to her aunt and uncle," Mo Jiaolan said as she took out her phone.

"Aren’t you betraying Yuhe by doing this?" Ling Feng asked, seeing her actions.

Mo Jiaolan gave him a look, "It’s fine, I won’t tell them the exact address, just that Yuhe is alright."

"Oh." Ling Feng nodded, finally reassured.

Once the call connected, despite knowing that Chen Yuhe was alright, her parents still wanted to know exactly where she was. Mo Jiaolan glossed over the details, saying that after she’d convinced Yuhe, she’d naturally return on her own, so there was no need to worry, and then she hung up.

Afterward, she looked up at Ling Feng with a smile, "I’m sorry for the trouble."

"How could you be? It’s something I should do! It’s hot outside, better come in and sit down," Ling Feng said with a smile.

They returned to the house, and Mo Jiaolan, like Chen Yuhe when she first arrived, glanced around briefly, nodded subtly, but remained silent.

"Please take a seat, I’ll get you some water," Ling Feng said, and turned to find a glass.

Smelling the faint scent of medicine in the room, Mo Jiaolan asked, "Your clinic is small, how’s business?"

"So-so, I guess. It’s enough to keep from starving," Ling Feng replied, handing her a glass of water.

"Oh, with your medical skills being so good, perhaps it’s just that your reputation hasn’t spread yet. It’ll get better," Mo Jiaolan said.

Ling Feng laughed, "That’d be great, I’m in need of money!"

After chatting for a bit, the inner room’s door opened, and Chen Yuhe stepped out.

"Yuhe, you’re too headstrong, just up and leaving. Your aunt was worried sick!" Mo Jiaolan hurriedly stood up and said upon seeing her.

"Hmph, let her worry. They had it coming with the way they treated me!" Chen Yuhe pouted, clearly unhappy.

"Even if they did something wrong, you shouldn’t have reacted this way!"

Sensing that Mo Jiaolan was about to lecture her, Chen Yuhe shook her head and walked over, hugging her arm, "Sis, let’s not talk about that annoying stuff, okay? Ling Feng’s place is so much fun. We found so many great things in the mountains. Yesterday we picked mushrooms, and today we even killed four wolves!"

"Hmm?"

Mo Jiaolan was startled upon hearing this and looked from Chen Yuhe to Ling Feng, then frowned and said, "Well, it seems you two are in cahoots to deceive me!"

Ling Feng was speechless; Chen Yuhe really had just given herself away. She’d lied on the phone earlier, claiming she had just arrived, but now she’d let the truth slip in their first encounter.

Feeling awkward, he immediately tried to explain, "Actually, I wanted to let you know, but Yuhe wouldn’t let me!"

Mo Jiaolan sighed and turned to Chen Yuhe, "Did you stay here last night?"

"Yeah," replied Chen Yuhe, also a bit embarrassed, and shook her arm, "Sis, don’t be mad. Look, I’m fine, aren’t I? Nothing happened!"

"Alright already, you’re an adult. If I say any more, it just comes off as nagging. Take responsibility for your own actions!" Mo Jiaolan said irritably.

Seeing that her sister was genuinely upset, Chen Yuhe’s eyes darted about, "Don’t worry, sis. Oh, and Ling Feng has some weird animals at home. Want to broaden your horizons?"

"What kind of weird animals?" Mo Jiaolan asked, puzzled.

However, instead of answering, Chen Yuhe pulled her toward the breeding area at the back.

Soon after, sounds of Mo Jiaolan’s amazement could be heard from the back.

Ling Feng shook his head helplessly; she must have seen the giant chickens and hares.

He walked toward the back, and upon arriving, Chen Yuhe came running back, her face lit up with excitement, "Ling Feng, the chickens have laid eggs!"

"Ah? Let me see!"

Surprised by the news, Ling Feng hurried along with her.

Upon a closer look, they saw the chicken nest filled with a cluster of snowy eggs, about a dozen altogether.

However, the size of the eggs was unusually large, almost as big as goose eggs!

"With these, can we hatch chickens of the same size?" Chen Yuhe asked.

Ling Feng shook his head, "I’m not sure. We’ll have to hatch them and see how they grow over a few days, won’t we?"

Mo Jiaolan, unable to hold back her curiosity, asked, "Ling Feng, how did you manage to raise such giant chickens?"
