The Guardian gods-Chapter 196

The green glow placed by Esther on Ethan’s shoulder wore away showing his healed shoulder. The beast king took note of that as it looked at Esther licking It’’s lip "You are next" Fear appeared on Esther’s face as she took a step back.

Roth watching all this had a frown on his face, he was drawn to the group because they seemed very unique and extraordinary in this very ordinary town. The sight in front of him showed him how wrong he was.

Their uniqueness didn’t equate to strength, shaking his head, a red sword appeared in his hand which he threw accurately to land beside Ethan.

Ethan looked at the red sword and then at Roth who threw the sword, Ethan looked at the sword in his hand that has accompanied him his whole life. Yet for some reason, Ethan knew if he didn’t forgo his sword and take up the new sword he would be losing a great opportunity.

With no hesitation, Ethan cast aside his sword as he laid his hand on the red sword, the first sensation Ethan felt was how his blood began boiling, his body can be visibly seen surrounded by a red hue.

Stomping the ground, Ethan turned into a red blur as he appeared at one of the beast king’s legs. Waving his new sword, Ethan felt how it easily went through the thick hide drawing blood which was immediately absorbed by the sword.

Ethan, so taken back by that, stopped moving a s he looked at the sword, the beast king who was taken back by Ethan speed jumped back after getting damaged. It looked at the absent minded Ethan with a serious look.

It opened its mouth where red crystal began forming and took the shape of a sword which it held steadily with its mouth, and at the same time red crystal covered its whole body in armor. The beast king snuck a glance at Esther seeing her looking at Ethan.

A red crystal ball formed around it which it sent out to Esther, at the same time it dug its feet into the ground and pounced at Ethan, with its head low ready to strike him with the sword.

Ethan’s eyes caught the shadow of the sword moving close to him so he raised his sword to defend but was taken off his feet and sent to the sky. The beast king wasn’t done as red crystal as red crystal appeared at its feet which it used to move above the ground closing in on Ethan.

Ethan swung his sword releasing a half mood red energy at the beast who tanked the hit with its new armor, the crystals were broken by the energy blade but it can be visibly seen stitching itself together.

Ethan wasn’t expecting that as he saw so confident with the new sword so as he was falling with no foot hold he watched as the beast king swerved by him taking off of his hand. Weirdly Ethan noticed she felt no pain with his hand lost and he wasn’t even losing blood from the wounded hand.

All of a sudden he looked to where Esther was, and seeing her current state his eyes widened before a roar of anger left his mouth as he rushed towards the beast king.

Back when the beast king sent out the red crystal ball, Esther was taken aback by the ball so she conjured an earth wall while taking a step back to gain distance, to her surprise the earth wall seemed to do it as the crystal ball exploded covering everywhere in red crystal mist.

She conjured a shield covering her as she was unsure of what the mist will do, all of sudden Esther noticed her left shoulder was stiff, she looked to see it crystallizing with a look of horror on her face.

That made her panic, breaking her concentration of the shield as it wore away before the red mist honed in on her covering her whole and turning her into a statue.

Ethan in his anger and no longer feeling pain rushed at the beast king in anger, but for the first time the beast king spoke to Ethan "You scared for a second there with your new sword but it is over"

Ethan didn’t understand or care enough about the beast king word but as he neared the beast king, he found half of his body crystallizing from where he was cut with the sword. Looking at the smug beast king Ethan said "You damn beast, what have we done to you?"

The beast king Looked at where Thoth was but found he was no longer there only for Roth to appear in his face as he spoke "I wanted him, You were just in the way"

Roth looked at the beast king and Ethan who was about to turn into a red crystal statue "I might have had too much of an expectation for you but you will do for now" He said a she placed his hand on Ethan covering him in a red dark energy which halted the crystallization.

Opening his hand, the red sword left Ethan’s hand appearing in Roth’s hand who pointed the sword at the tiger. The tiger had a weird look on it’s face before panic set in as it fell to the ground tumbling and rolling around destroying houses close by.

Looking at the tiger, Roth said "I also now now to play with things from the inside"

The tiger roared at his word when all of a sudden its body began shrinking, even with its body covered in crystal armor. From the position on it’s leg cut by Ethan, boiling and bubbling red blood can be seen melting away the crystals before breaking through it.

The blood leaving the beast king’s body like it was drawn to something began moving to the now glowing sword. As soon as the light of life left the beast king’s body, Roth commanded the sword to stop its absorption.

Above Roth’s hand, he had a ball of blood tumbling around in it. Turning to look at Ethan who was looking at him with a look of anger and estacity. He said nothing and waited before Ethan began screaming out loud with tears falling from his face.

"You could have killed the beast and saved our town this whole time, why did you let everyone die? Why did you let my friends die?" Ethan said with a face full of anger.

Roth tilted his head to side confused but chose to ignore Ethan words, Instead he began walking around Ethan with his hands behind his back and hsi red sword floating silently behind him.

"Since the last experiment with mother on turning humans into a vampire, I have had time to think on this new race of mine especially with the gift and disadvantages that come switch it"

"One of this disadvantage is the long life considering the mortal nature of humans and the other is how the gift turn the human against something the believe they have evolved beyond, which is an animal that lust for blood"

"During my time in the underworld, I conversed with a lot of dead human souls from different parts of the continent, one thing they all had in common was something they call "Humanity"

Looking at the silent Ethan who was now listening to his words, Roth continued "It was then that I realized that humanity was something that is going to be a strength and problem for my race and upcoming children which are the vampires"

"Humanity is something, I have yet to full understand but I know this for sure, Humanity for human is something of a strength or a will, it is something that drives human to make choices good or bad, it is something that made humans evolve to where they are today and my gift to a chosen human takes away this strength or humanity from them"

"I have thought of ways to preserve this humanity or strength to my future children, so that it may drive them to evolve and stand shoulders to shoulder with other godling races and not instead become a being driven by their lust for strength"

Roth as a demigod has the same giant physique close to the gods, at even at this moment he is shrunk to a size acceptable to humans he was still too tall for Ethan, so he bent a bit looking at Ethan face full of anger.

Roth said "Anger is a emotion known by every intelligent being, yet there is different type of anger and right now your face and eyes has the right type of anger that will preserves your humanity for a long time"

"You feel anger at your weakness, you are angry at the beast that killed your people and lastly you are angry at me who brought this beast to your home and watch it kill your people"

Smiling Roth said "You at this moment very moment is very deserving of my gift, it will give you enough strength to wash away your anger for your weakness, it will give you strength to handle beast like this, one thing it won’t give you is the strength to kill me"
