Chapter 177: Chapter 177: From now on, I am yours!_1

Hu Youqing was dragged away like a dead dog, having completely passed out.

But the Hu Family didn’t leave just yet.

This time, however, it wasn’t because they wanted to stir up more trouble.

Instead, it was Hu Wei, his eyes bloodshot and looking particularly frightening under the influence of alcohol, who blocked their way.

"Bullying people, all you know is to bully people, come on, keep it going!" Hu Wei, as if in madness, waved a broken beer bottle and bellowed, "Killing one of you is break-even for me, killing two is a profit!"

His fierce and malevolent appearance terrified the Hu Family relatives brought by Hu Youqing, turning their faces pale and leaving them too scared to move.

Li Qing sneered, "You people really opened my eyes, such shamelessness."

"Those villagers who were bullied by Hu Youyu didn’t come here to cause trouble and even forgave Auntie Yu Lan and Hu Wei. But here you are, taking advantage of the situation, trying to throw dirt on Auntie Yu Lan."

"If you can do such things, I reckon you’re all quite brazen. Now Xiao Wei wants to settle scores with you, go ahead and deal with him, I won’t stop you."

Among the group of Hu Family relatives, the only young one hesitated, then looked at the two and said, "Qingzi, we were wrong."

"We were all egged on by Hu Youqing, who said my aunt brought a man home and called us over to help. We came, but who knew it was you, Qingzi. And we really didn’t know you and Xiao Wei were so close."

Li Qing looked around coldly, "Nice words, but are you suggesting that no man should enter the Hu family’s home from now on? Besides, ’catch a thief must have dirt, adultery is committed in pairs,’ are you planning to catch any man who simply sits here?"

"No, that’s not what we meant, we were really instigated by Hu Youqing," the young man protested, "We thought he had some kind of inside information, but who knew he was just deliberately causing trouble."

"This old bastard has really screwed us over!"

As he spoke, the young man suddenly, viciously slapped Hu Youqing across the face.

This act of aggression seemed to open a window of hope for the others.

Men and women alike immediately crowded around and started slapping Hu Youqing’s face mercilessly.

Just moments ago, the commanding Hu Youqing, now in a stupor, had his face beaten into a pig’s head as blood flowed from his nose unabated.

"Enough, don’t beat him to death, just get lost," Li Qing said with a disgusted wave of his hand.

Seeing this pardon, everyone quickly hoisted Hu Youqing up and made to leave.

"Stop!"

Hu Wei suddenly bellowed, the broken beer bottle in his hand, blocking the doorway like a guardian deity.

The Hu Family members were startled, looking to Li Qing in unison.

Li Qing stepped forward to stop Hu Wei, "Let them go, causing a death would only make things worse, and you’d be finished too."

"Qingzi, my rage!" Hu Wei, his words thick with alcohol, struggled and roared.

"Let them go!" Li Qing forcibly dragged Hu Wei back.

Fortunately, despite being thoroughly inflamed by the alcohol, Hu Wei still listened to Li Qing.

Seeing Li Qing pull Hu Wei away, the Hu Family members bolted.

Hu Wei, his eyes still red, threw the broken beer bottle towards the doorway.

Bang!

The explosion sounded right at the heels of the retreating Hu Family relatives.

Suddenly, everyone’s escape hastened.

"Don’t be angry now, cool off first."

Li Qing patted Hu Wei’s back and took Yu Lan’s hand in his, gently squeezing it, offering a comforting glance.

"Let’s help him sit down over here; he’s had too much to drink," Yu Lan said with a tender look at Li Qing.

Even after such a chaotic incident had just occurred, Yu Lan seemed relatively composed.

Li Qing helped Hu Wei sit down on the sofa and poured him a glass of warm water, urging him to take a breath and sober up a bit.

But Hu Wei, swaying back and forth, opened another two bottles of alcohol.

"Come on, Qingzi, have a few more drinks with me."

Li Qing was somewhat taken aback.

"You can’t drink any more, you’ve already had too much," he advised.

Hu Wei let out a self-mocking laugh, took a big swig from the bottle, and said, "Qingzi, am I pretty useless?"

"After my dad passed away, everything from the small medicine grinders and motors in the house to the car was borrowed by them."

"I naively thought they would return them, but when I went to ask for them back, they claimed everything was broken. They said it would be useless for me to take them back, might as well give them to them."

"Especially that old bastard Hu Youqing, when I went to ask for my dad’s car back, he had the nerve to say he paid for the gas and would return it when he used it all up. Qingzi, can you believe there are such shameless relatives in this world?"

Li Qing tapped his bottle against Hu Wei’s as a sign of agreement, "With what happened today, they’ll learn their lesson."

"Qingzi, I really wanted to kill one or two of them just now, to see who would dare to bully us after that," Hu Wei said viciously, gulping down another mouthful of alcohol.

"That’s why I think you’d be better off not leaving; stay in the village and help me. As long as you stand your ground, I doubt anyone would dare to bully you or Auntie Yu Lan," Li Qing said, but as he looked up, he saw Hu Wei had fallen asleep again with the bottle in his arms.

The snoring started almost instantaneously.

"He’s had too much to drink, help me get him up to bed," Yu Lan said.

"I’ll carry him up," Li Qing said with some resignation as he got up.

By the time Li Qing had settled Hu Wei down, Yu Lan had already cleaned up the living room downstairs.

"Have some food," Yu Lan brought out a dish of chicken.

"Auntie, you eat, I’m not really hungry," Li Qing said.

After what had just happened, he didn’t even think about eating or feel hungry.

"I’m not very hungry either," Yu Lan said, shaking her head.

Immediately after putting the dishes back in the kitchen, Yu Lan walked over and nestled in Li Qing’s embrace.

The soft roundness of her buttocks pressed against his groin, stirring a silent heat within Li Qing.

"From now on, I’m counting on you, Qingzi," Yu Lan murmured against Li Qing’s face with her smooth cheek.

"I can’t promise that what happened tonight won’t happen again, but I will definitely protect you and make sure you live a good life," Li Qing replied softly.

In the past, when facing Yu Lan, he felt not only yearning but also a deep sense of inferiority.

He wouldn’t have dared to say such a thing.

But now, Li Qing felt he at least had some hope.

"Qingzi, you’re so good to me, I feel so secure," Yu Lan said emotionally, her slender, warm palm resting on Li Qing’s broad chest.

The heat in his heart was instantly stoked.

Li Qing held Yu Lan tightly, his hand slipping under her skirt.

"Let’s go to my bedroom. Today I’ll serve you well; however, you want to do it is fine with me, I’m liberated," Yu Lan hooked her arms around Li Qing’s neck, her cheeks flushed, her passion like a raging fire.
