The Headline Queen: President Hawthorne is Her Die-Hard Fan!-Chapter 470: Floating on Air
Sarah Sutton had already gotten carried away. With a few sweet words from Julian Hawthorne, she forgot her worth and viewed herself as overly important.
Not to mention, Julian Hawthorne wasn’t capable of dealing with the Sterling Family right now; even if he was, he wouldn’t dare.
Paige Sterling laughed softly. "Speaking so nicely, concerned about my marriage? If you were really worried about my marriage, you should stay far away."
Sarah hung her head low, feeling a bit sad, "Miss Sterling, I’m already Mr. Hawthorne’s woman. In the countryside where I’m from, we’re very traditional, a woman cannot serve two men. If you make me leave, then I might as well die."
Would Paige dare to push her to death?
Paige rubbed her temples, initially thinking Julian Hawthorne was a king, only to find out he turned out to be a novice rookie.
Later she thought Julian was arrogant, only to realize he was actually a stud.
Julian Hawthorne turned a business war drama into a cheap erotica, the kind with multiple partners.
Paige couldn’t help but glance at Wayne Wright with a smile, semi-sarcastically saying, "I will settle accounts with you."
Wayne pursed his lips, remaining silent, like an emotionless log.
Yet Sarah thought Paige’s words were directed at her, "Miss, aren’t you willing to forgive me?"
"No, I forgive you," she thought to herself, why not fulfill her wish if she wants to die? 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
Paige said, "Not only do I forgive you, but I will also help you and Julian Hawthorne be together."
"Really, Miss?" Sarah said joyfully, hardly believing that Paige would compromise so quickly.
Just as Paige was about to say something more, the door swung open, and Julian Hawthorne entered.
Having heard Paige was hospitalized, he came immediately.
At least he didn’t have to face Sterling Family and get beaten by Jared Sullivan. He was relieved, even wishing Paige would stay in the hospital longer so he could visit her daily and nurture their relationship, hoping she’d lower her guard against him.
But he didn’t expect to see Sarah first when he entered.
As soon as Sarah saw him, she hurried over and naively took his arm.
"Mr. Hawthorne, you’re right on time, I have good news to share with you. Miss Sterling is willing to let us be together."
She said happily, "I told you earlier, the Miss is certainly not someone who fusses over trivial things; she will definitely let us be together. See, I just kneeled and begged her for a bit, and she softened up. In the future, we can be together openly. I’m so happy, you must be too, right? We should thank Miss Sterling; she is a good person, and you must be gentle with her. I don’t mind if you share the gentleness meant for me with her."
Then she winked at Paige, as if saying, see, flattering me will pay off when I speak well of you in front of Julian Hawthorne.
Julian’s expression stiffened, looking at Paige, and he felt she wasn’t someone who would say such things.
He somewhat doubtedly asked, "Paige, are you really willing to help us be together?"
Paige took the apple peeled by Wayne and bit into it, "Of course, my specialty is making others happy."
Julian sighed in relief, "It’s great that you’ve come to terms; I just want you all to get along well, so I have no worries."
"Of course, I won’t let you worry."
Paige finished speaking and smiled mysteriously.
Before Julian could recover from her eerie smile, she slowly pulled a gun from under the blanket, aiming it at him, saying, "If I kill you both, I’ll arrange your afterlife affairs too, so go peacefully."
Julian widened his eyes while Sarah screamed and hid behind Julian.
Julian broke into a cold sweat, instinctively trying to open the door, only to find it was locked.
He was sweating coldly, "Paige, what are you doing? Don’t do anything rash—it won’t benefit you!"
This woman was capable of anything; he underestimated her!
Paige laughed, "How could it not benefit? With a few annoying people gone, my ears will be quieter."
Julian shouted, "But I’m your husband!"
Paige kept laughing, making Julian’s scalp tingle.
"So what if you are? I’ve never tried what it’s like to kill a husband."
Julian hastily pushed Sarah away, not caring how painful it might be for her to fall, quickly reassuring Paige:
"Paige, are you mad because of what this woman said? Don’t think too much; with someone as outstanding as you, how could I be interested in such a woman? I was just fooling around with her. You don’t need to take her words seriously."
Sarah was stunned that her supposed true love had turned on her so quickly, her eyes wide, "Mr. Hawthorne, how can you treat me like this?"
She truly cared for Julian, yet he treated her like this?
At that moment she felt she was the most pitiful person in the world, lying on the ground crying wretchedly.
But no one paid her any attention.
Paige smiled, "Julian, I’ve told you, divorce isn’t easy. Since you enjoy playing, why don’t you go to the Underworld to find someone to play with? Do whatever you want, I won’t stop you."
Then she really went to pull the trigger.
Her movements were extremely slow, giving Julian pressure as if undergoing slow torture, seemingly intent on tormenting Julian.
Julian’s legs were trembling, he glanced at Wayne, "Wayne, what are you doing just standing there? Aren’t you going to stop her? Are you really going to watch her kill?"
Wayne didn’t move.
After a while, he suddenly stirred slightly.
Paige gave him a cold look, "Don’t meddle where you shouldn’t, or I’ll kill you first."
Then she pointed the gun at Wayne.
Wayne, "..."
The tigress was truly causing havoc.
Julian slowly approached Paige, hoping to slip the gun from her grasp.
But Paige turned the gun back on him, making Julian jump, "Paige, don’t do this, my love for you is as vast as the heavens and as genuine as the sun and moon. You are irreplaceable in my heart. If you’re upset, I can have all of them leave; I’ll only want you from now on, devoted solely to you, okay?"
In times like this, he had to compromise; should he really wait for Paige to go crazy?
"No, I don’t care for your affection anymore."
Paige tilted her head. "I still think it’s better if you die."
She pulled the trigger, aiming at Julian.
Julian screamed and crouched down, covering his head.
However, the anticipated pain didn’t come; instead, he heard Paige’s laughter.
The laughter was piercing.
"Julian, how come you’ve become so scared now? This is just a lighter; is that necessary?"
Julian looked up to see Paige pull the trigger, but instead of bullets, a flame shot out.
Had he really been scared by Paige wielding a lighter?
Julian got up with a gloomy face, "Paige, how dare you..."
