The Heavenly Dao System-Chapter 110: Good Person
Ling Qiwei’s voice was not low whatsoever. Hence, those in the line could easily hear Ling Qiwei labeling Ye Ming a scumbag.
"Huh, so he was also involved with the recent incident?"
"That doesn’t seem right though. The culprit’s been executed, so how could he be unscathed if he was guilty?"
"Heh, didn’t you hear this woman calling him a scumbag? Maybe he sold his comrades out to escape scot-free."
Men were some of the most biased creatures to exist. As long as it was a beautiful woman who said anything, they would be inclined to believe them almost immediately.
Despite having zero evidence or context of the situation, these bastards had already decided to paint him as the guilty party.
Hell, they even went as far as calling him a traitor who sold his comrades out.
Comrades?
What fucking comrades did he have?
"Slandering a good person is a crime, Ling Qiwei." Ye Ming’s eyes were cold as he retorted.
Tao Wang had yet to appear because she was learning some cultivation techniques from the Justice Hall as compensation for her time.
More importantly, if this so-called senior sister was that concerned, then she should have gone to the Justice Hall.
Just a simple inquiry and she would have known the result.
Of course, what Ye Ming didn’t know was that Ling Qiwei had intended to do so until she was intercepted by an elder of the Blue Wind Sect.
Since the incident was quite big, Qiu Shan had ordered the elders to retrieve the disciples and have them stay shut in an inn until further notice.
Once the order was lifted, there was also the matter of her fellow sect members who needed to complete the procedure of the alchemy competition.
Hence, Ling Qiwei didn’t have the time or energy to go to the Justice Hall until now.
Who would have thought before she could walk over there, she had spotted Ye Ming leaving the line.
Since the long line was very organized and neat, anyone out of the line could easily be spotted.
In other words, Ye Ming truly had the crappiest timing ever to stumble across.
"You’re a good person? If you’re a good person, then why is my Junior Sister still trapped in the Justice Hall whereas you’re unscathed despite being together with her at the time in Fushang Forest." Ling Qiwei spat out.
The crowd became amused and hissed coldly as they stared at Ye Ming.
"Woman, I know most of your development went to your chest and not your brain. But just do me a favor and go to the Justice Hall first." Ye Ming rolled his eyes.
He turned around and prepared to leave. He lost complete interest in her.
"Stop right there—"
Before Ling Qiwei could finish her sentence, Ye Ming shouted out a tiny flame toward her.
Alarmed, Ling Qiwei hurriedly dodged, but to no avail. The flame stuck onto her uniform as it began to burn through the fabric.
"The flame’s going to remove all your fabric, so keep idling in public if you want to be exposed to everyone." Ye Ming’s voice resounded to her ears.
Soon, Ling Qiwei noticed many gazes were starting to focus on her. They leered at the burnt fabric which exposed some of her skin.
Frustrated, Ling Qiwei stomped her feet and began to run away.
Some horny men in the line couldn’t resist the temptation and left their line to follow her.
After all, they didn’t have to be afraid of Ling Qiwei attacking them because of the strict city law.
However, not all men left the line as some were curious to see the punishment that would be imposed upon Ye Ming.
In front of the public’s eye, Ye Ming actually made a move against someone. This heavily violated the city’s law, so they were eager to see him being detained.
Unfortunately, they were destined to be disappointed.
In a few seconds, city guards arrived at the scene after being informed of a troublemaker.
Their expressions were cold and vigilance. It was clear that they were ready to detain the culprit.
"Over there! It’s that person!" Some in the crowd pointed their fingers and directed them to the city guards.
When the city guards followed the trail and spotted the culprit, their expressions turned complicated.
"Guards, what are you waiting for?"
"Capture him! That bastard actually used some flame to attack another at this important event!"
As the crowd urged the guards to make haste, one of them suddenly turned around and unleashed his aura toward those who were shouting.
"Shut your mouth!" The guard snorted coldly before turning around and rushing toward Ye Ming.
"Senior Dao, why are you out here in the venue and not inside the stadium?" The same guard who had snorted coldly changed into a docile puppy in an instant.
This change of behavior startled and astonished many people standing in the line. They even began to suspect that someone had impersonated a city guard.
When had the city guard ever been so polite to some random youngster?
Not even those so-called geniuses, holy sons, or holy daughters received such treatment. Hell, even those respected elders from Holy Sects would only ever receive some greeting.
"I just came out to see the atmosphere." Ye Ming lightly said and stretched his arms.
"Anyway, do me a favor and send those who pointed or cursed at me to the back of the line." He continued and listed out those who couldn’t keep their mouths shut.
Just because he didn’t care for them didn’t mean he would allow them to speak without consequences.
In an instant, those who were called out by Ye Ming had their legs turned to jelly.
Although it was said to be sent back to the line, who could guarantee they wouldn’t be banished instead?
After all, the city guards obeyed the command without any hesitation.
Their efficiency was no joke!
While this was happening, Ye Ming was promptly escorted like some VIP into the stadium. Not a single soul dared to voice any complaint when they saw how respectful the guards acted toward Ye Ming.
In their mind, they were already wondering what kind of bigshot Ye Ming was.
