The Hero of Hypnosis-Chapter 383: The city is ours!
"Hmm? What’s going on here? Is this a retelling of the Dunross incident? Nah, I’m just kidding." Kai flew down to the ground and stood in front of the burning barracks building.
"You must be one of the resistance." A deep voice said, stepping out of the burning building. It was the commander, and he wasn’t harmed in the slightest, just annoyed to the highest degree.
"Yes and no. You see, they asked for my help, so I’m helping them. But I’m not an official member of their little club. I’m actually a tourist. Don’t mind me, though, I’ll just be on my way."
Kai turned around to leave.
"Don’t take another step!" The commander commanded in his commanding tone.
Kai took another step.
"Mother fucker! Do you think I’m playing with you?!" Irritated, the commander leaped toward Kai, swinging his morningstar with such power that it would obliterate anyone it touched.
Unfortunately for him, Kai flicked the morningstar, shattering the weapon, and the force of his flick created a wind so strong that it instantly decapitated the man.
"I wonder if there’s a candy shop nearby." Right before Kai was about to fly away, he saw all of his girls float down beside him.
"What are you all doing back here?"
Karumi sighed. "It’s just the resistance blowing shit up. Nothing interesting. We sent them over to the other two guard towers and..."
Two more explosions went off.
"Yup. And they blew them up." She wanted some action, but beggars can’t be choosers.
"They said that they have a team on the road that leads to the western part of the continent. They asked if we could help them."
"Let’s go then."
All of them took off and arrived at the road where they saw the resistance fighting against soldiers. They were greatly outnumbered, but they continued to fight since their lives depended on it.
"Keep pushing forward! The other teams should be here soon!" The captain yelled, tossing a rock over their cover.
"Yo, need a hand?" Kai asked
The captain nearly lost his shit from being stateled by Kai. "Who the hell are you?"
"Sekmala sent us. So do you need a hand?"
"Sekmala sent you? Fuck yeah! Provide cover fire for us while we rush in!"
"Hey, Kai." Gwen nudged his arm. "Try out the chalice."
"Right! Hey, you, Carlbon."
"How do you know my name?" Carlbon, the captain asked.
"You’re name is actually Carlbon? What the fuck? Whatever. Here, take this chalice and pray to the goddess. It’s a relic that will grant you strength." Kai tossed the fancy cup to him.
"A-Amazing! This is the relic that Karlis uncovered when he--"
"Hey, why don’t you shut the fuck up and use the damn cup already?"
"Right! Sorry. Ahem. Oh, Goddess Rauna, heed my cries! Grant us the strength to face our foes!"
The cup glowed a bright golden color, then wine filled it up to the brim.
"Wine? Not water? Weird." Kai wondered how it tasted.
Carlbon drank the wine without hesitation, and he could feel his body being supercharged.
"Amazing! This is truly amazing! Here, you guys, drink up!"
He handed the chalice to his men, allowing them to get a drink, and they all powered up as well.
"Hahaha! Yeah! I’m all fired up now! Let’s kill these bastards!"
Team four disregarded their cover and rushed toward their enemy, slaughtering all of them like animals.
"Haha! The city will be ours now!"
"I guess we’re not needed here. Let’s move on to Novahelm." Kai and his girls took off into the sky.
---
"Morrigan!" Apophia called.
"Yes, my lady?" Morrigan appeared in front of Apophia, kneeling down to show her respect.
"You’ve encountered the boy who stormed into my castle, right? What do you think of him? Were you able to see his future and how I end up killing him?"
Morrigan stayed silent for a bit, choosing her words carefully. When she decided to speak up, she was firm and direct.
"No. I saw our deaths." She purposely added ’our’ to make Apophia get the impression that both of them could be killed by Kai, even when looking into the future.
Apophia, however, did not like this answer. "You saw our deaths? Impossible. There are many futures and everyone has a weakness. Keep searching for the future where we end up killing that bastard. I wont allow him to run around my land doing whatever the hell he wants."
"I’m afraid that’s impossible, my lady."
"And why is that?"
"Because he’s a demigod."
This took Apophia off guard. She knew Kai was way more powerful than expected, but she didn’t think he would be a demigod.
"That would explain him not being affected by my attacks, but your claim has to be false because I didn’t sense any godly power from him. He felt like a mortal."
Morrigan shook her head. "He’s not a normal demigod. He’s the son of The Progenitor."
Apophia nearly lost her shit. "Are you certain? Did you find out from him? Did he tell you?"
Morrigan shook her head. "I saw the future where he told me who he was. Because of this, I told him that I didn’t want to cause any problems. Out of every future I saw, he killed me in all of them except for one."
"And we’re currently in that specific future?" Apophia muttered.
"Yes."
"This...This isn’t fair. Since the dawn of this world’s existence, we demon kings and gods, have been in an eternal cycle and only allow heroes to interfere with our methods. But a child of the progenitor? This messes everything up! We need to take him out."
At first, Morrigan thought Apophia was joking around, but when she saw the seriousness in her face, she lost her mind.
"Are you fucking stupid?"
"Watch yourself, Morrigan, I’m still your Queen!"
"No! You watch yourself! You want to try and kill the son of the most powerful being in all of existence? You’re mad! What do you think will happen to us if we fail? No, what do you think will happen if we succeed?!"
"Don’t worry about that. We just need to figure out a way to kill him first. I have this new power that makes me so strong that Rauna can’t even do anything against me! We can take Kai out!"
"Really now?"
Morrigan and Apophia turned to the new person who appeared in the room and froze from fear.
