The Hero of Hypnosis-Chapter 400: Discussing what to do
Since the army of Flaxon was pushed back, the resistance had a lot of time to breathe and plan their next move. It was hard for them to understand what they should do since Setton was a spy and he knew all of their plans, but they still needed to do something.
"We still need to find the two remaining ancient temples." Osiren urged. He knew that he needed the power if he wanted to reclaim the throne.
"I agree." Horisia nodded. "Thankfully, we also have the chalice. However, Setton knows the general location of the final two ancient temples, and he could have his people excavating them as we speak!"
Isia added to Horisia’s words. "He could have excavated them while we were still focusing on this part of the continent. Our people on the western side could also work for him, so we could have been getting false information for the past few months."
"Dammit. This is why it’s so difficult dealing with taitors and spies. They know too much and can really destabilize everything you do." Sekmala was really hard on herself for not figuring out that Setton was a spy earlier.
As the leader of the resistance, it was her duty to make sure all of her people were safe, taken care of, and could function to the best of their abilities. But now, she has lost so much that they can barely pose a threat to their real enemies.
"What do we do now? Do we stay and rebuild here? Maybe fortify the eastern side so we don’t lose our ground again?" Osiren was at a loss. He desperately wanted to go to the western side, but he thought that at this current moment, it was too risky.
"No. We’ll still be headed to the western side. We need those temples. We need to show that we aren’t afraid and we are still strong. We can’t let our people down." It was a bold move on Sekmala’s part, but she felt like it was the right thing to do.
"I’ll stay here." Horisia offered. "With you and Prince Osiren gone, the resistance will need someone to lead them as well as a strong person to protect them."
Sekmala nodded, agreeing with her words. She also remembered that Kai’s monster followers were settling down in their city and towns for the time being to make sure it was well protected in case anything happened.
Honestly, they were extremely thankful to have someone like Kai on their side. Without him, they would have lost already. They were also thankful to his girls because they also showed just how valuable they were.
"Lady Sekmala!" One of the ninjas burst into the room they were in. "A message from our people on the western side!"
He handed Sekmala a scroll and was swiftly dismissed by her.
"A message at this time? Could something have happened?" Orison worried.
"Possibly. Or maybe this message was sent before everything went down, and we’re just now getting it." There were multiple possibilities, and Sekmala hoped it was one that didn’t have to do with Setton.
"Read it and let’s find out," Horisia spoke out.
"Urgent news! The location for the third temple has been identified, and we are currently keeping a low profile to make sure no one gets suspicious. The guards and soldiers who are loyal to Flexom have been increasing drastically, and demon activity is at an all-time high. These people are suffering, and we need to help them soon. Lastly, our people who infiltrated the royal court have heard something about a war that’s going to happen soon. Please be careful and arrive soon."
"The location of the third temple was discovered! That’s great news!" Osiren’s face lit up with excitement. Even through these dark times, there was still light at the end of the tunnel.
"Yes, but what are the chances of this being a trap?" Sekmala wondered. If this were before, she would have believed every word without a second thought. But now, after Setton and a good portion of the resistance betrayed them, it was only natural to be on high alert.
Horisia understood Sekmala’s thought process and shared her worry, but that would only hold them back. "You have a point, but this letter could have been sent a while ago, like we said before. And even if this is a trap, we’ll still have to head to the location anyway. We just have to hope that Setton didn’t get his hands on this letter before us."
"Why don’t we get someone like Kai or Gwen to come along with us?" Isia suggested. "With them present, surely nothing would go wrong, right?"
Sekmala nodded. "It would definitely be great to have one of them come along with us. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but with them with us, we’ll be safe and will be able to do things without having to worry about Setton, Flexom, or the demons being on our back."
"Kai is really reliable." Isia smiled, a blush appearing on her face.
When Osiren saw this, he was not happy and instantly went into big brother mode. "Absolutely not!"
"What?"
"You’re gushing over Kai! I’m saying no to that!"
"What are you even talking about? I’m just saying that he’s reliable! He saved us more than once! Is that not being reliable? He was the reason why you were even able to pass two of the trials at the temples!"
"Sure, that’s true, but as the princess of the Astalith Kingdom, it’s only right that you marry someone from our land who also has a significant standing in society. Of course, you can pick anyone you want out of that category." Osiren nodded.
"Who’s better than a freaking demigod who is hands down the sexiest man in the fucking world?!"
That was a good question because even Horisia and Sekmala had to agree that Kai was the sexiest man they had ever met. He was so charming in their eyes that they could feel themselves become filled with lust when they were around him. It took a lot just to keep a level head.
