The Informal Tomb Raiding Diary: She is the occupant of the tomb!-Chapter 262 - 254: Domestic Life in the Tomb (Part 2)
"Wh-who are you?" The man pulled my backpack in front of him, kneeling on the ground and retreating backward.
Qinghan is always so gentle, so I couldn’t keep a stern face. I leaned on Qinghan’s shoulder and gave him a smile.
"Ah—ghost!" The man’s scream caused the dust above to fall straight down.
He stood up with the backpack, attempting to flee, nearly crashing into Galaxy. The puppets beside Galaxy immediately stood in front of her. Galaxy had carved them to have eerie faces. At this moment, they were floating in the air, holding candles, with wicked smiles at the corners of their mouths. The man’s eyes widened, his body fell backward, but Qinghan stretched out his leg to catch him and then gently laid him on the ground.
This man’s backpack looked quite professional, yet he was wearing a casual suit with leather shoes.
"Amateur," Galaxy glanced at the man with disdain and said to Qinghan, "Ignore him, let’s keep moving."
The man was merely scared unconscious; he would wake up slowly. Galaxy led us through this passage, indicating that there were no dangerous creatures here, so even if the man lay there for a day, he wouldn’t be eaten by snakes or insects.
"That backpack doesn’t seem to belong to him; there must be others," Qinghan carried me over the man’s body and said to Galaxy, who was walking ahead.
"Here to steal treasure," Galaxy said indifferently.
"Hmm? Treasure? There’s treasure here?" I immediately asked.
"There is, but not gold or silver."
"Oil?"
"No."
"Jade mine?"
"No."
"Queen Mother’s Peach Tree?"
Galaxy turned back and looked at me seriously, "It’s a door."
I wanted to ask what kind of door was so valuable, an anti-theft door, or Doraemon’s Anywhere Door?
Before I could ask in detail, Galaxy said, "A boundary line connecting to a Different Space full of energy."
Qinghan spoke then, "You want her to enter the Different Space and absorb the energy over there?"
Galaxy didn’t refute, "She can."
I indeed could; the green light energy had been absorbed by me, but what about the consequences, what if there were side effects?
I just realized I’d forgotten my current appearance when I scared that man so much his face turned ghostly pale.
Qinghan was willing to trust Galaxy this time; we walked for quite some time before arriving at the main tomb chamber.
It would take a considerable amount of time to walk from the main tomb to the entrance, yet Galaxy had opened the door soon after Qinghan called her, indicating she wasn’t in the main tomb chamber when we arrived.
"It’s a bit messy, don’t mind," Galaxy pressed the beast head beside the door, and the stone door parted sideways.
The space inside the door was vast; I’d seen partial photos of the tomb, and the main tomb chamber didn’t appear this big in the photos.
From the shape, it looked like a yurt, with an inverted funnel-shaped top and a round tomb chamber below.
There were troughs on the wall for holding oil, with sockets for torches above them. Clearly, the oil troughs were used for large sacrificial activities because they provided good illumination but consumed much oil, while the sockets were likely left for sparse descendants to use for ancestral rites.
Galaxy used neither the oil troughs nor the torches; she used solar-powered LED lights. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Therefore, the main tomb was not dim, just as she said, a bit messy.
The toys she made almost filled the space, hanging on the walls, suspended from the ceiling, and laid on the ground. Besides puppets, there were cloth dolls, beaded, paper-folded toys — all sorts of handmade crafts imaginable were present.
"You should open an online shop, selling handmade crafts would be great." Although I sneered at her obsession with making toys, it didn’t stop me from suggesting she turn her hobby into a business.
But I just casually said it, knowing full well that opening an online shop was unrealistic for her, as she couldn’t handle shipping.
"I did, someone ships for me," Galaxy pointed to several particularly fine ancient-style dolls, dressed in grand and elegant clothing, "These sell well."
"Where’s the door?" Qinghan interrupted our small talk.
"It’s here," Galaxy walked to the stone platform in the center of the tomb chamber, "I sold the coffin."
"How did you manage to get such a large coffin out?" I looked at the empty stone platform and then at Galaxy, who was composed.
"The wood was good; I made wooden sculptures and hairpins out of it."
"Heartless profiteer!"
"Making full use of resources."
Qinghan carried me to the stone platform, where relief carvings were engraved on its sides. I looked at one, which depicted a person jumping with a spear into a pit.
I patted Qinghan, signaling him to move aside as I wanted to see the other three reliefs.
The above relief depicted a group of people digging the earth and uncovering a pit; the ancients were full of curiosity and commendable bravery towards the unknown.
One person jumped down with a spear, and the third relief showed a grotesque and ugly Evil Ghost climbing up from the pit with a spear.
