The Informal Tomb Raiding Diary: She is the occupant of the tomb!-Chapter 88: If You Lose a Hand, You Won’t Lose a Foot
Strange events happen every year, and this year there are especially a lot.
Qinghan used a sword to wound the Chicken Shit Snake that even grenades couldn’t kill. Pete immediately fell silent, staring intently at the sword in Qinghan’s hand.
The Chicken Shit Snake avoided Qinghan, trying to burrow back underground, slithering towards the entrance of the tunnel Pete and his team had cut.
Qinghan tapped the ground with his toes, caught up with it in two leaps, and jumped up to thrust the sword straight at the Chicken Shit Snake’s head.
His movements were so spectacular, like scenes from a martial arts movie, that I couldn’t help but applaud and cheer for him.
"Ah!" After a short, sharp scream, the treasure sword pierced through the Chicken Shit Snake’s head.
The Chicken Shit Snake instantly fell apart, plopping to the ground, turning into a large puddle of Chicken Shit.
Fortunately, Qinghan flipped and leapt away just in time, landing with a nimble posture out of the shit’s range, avoiding stepping in it.
Pete and his team fought their way up from below, nearly dying and still unable to deal with the Chicken Shit Snake, while Qinghan took care of it in just a few moves, showing a clear disparity in strength.
However, Qinghan didn’t know the sword I gave him had such power. He was just pursuing victory, but Pete and his team didn’t know this, so instead of thanking him for saving their lives, they blamed him for not coming out sooner to save them.
"I was trapped down below just now," Qinghan coldly explained in response to Pete’s reproach.
"Liar, if you were trapped, why didn’t you call for help? You must have been hiding and laughing at us!" Pete yelled.
"Hey, hey, hey, that’s enough. I gave him that sword. He didn’t know it could hurt that thing. Seeing that thing down there, of course, he hid. You guys went in with guns blazing, and falling rocks knocked him and Jerry out. How was he supposed to call for help? Have some shame; at least we’re not asking you to kneel and thank us for saving you." Hearing them ignore Qinghan’s explanation, I got angry. Unlike Professor Chen, I’m not so genteel. Today, I’ll show them what a real spitfire dumpling is!
"You two are in cahoots, of course you’d say that," Pete sneered.
"Oh, okay, we just teamed up to want you dead. What are you going to do about it?" I laughed in anger, slowly approaching Pete, drawing the folding shovel from behind me.
I’d disliked them before, and now they were deliberately scheming to trick us into a trap-laden tunnel. It’s time to settle things.
Pete signaled to his companions, the foreign woman and the old man immediately pulled out guns, thinking that with the Chicken Shit Snake dead, three against two was a sure win for them.
"Stop!" At this moment, a person crawled up from the tunnel entrance.
Jerry, covered in Chicken Shit, crawled up and stopped Pete and them from making a move, "Professor Chen was really trapped down there, we were knocked out by falling rocks."
"Hmph, there’s nothing here at all, maybe they cleared it out long ago. He knows the way around here, must have been here before, we’re duped!" Pete kicked the base of the sarcophagus.
"We still have our commission, and there’s this tomb," Jerry laughed foolishly, but Pete wasn’t buying it.
"What do you know, you idiot?" Pete cursed.
"But if you kill them now, you won’t get any treasure," Jerry shrugged, trying to persuade Pete to give up targeting us.
"We’ve suffered heavy losses on this trip, someone has to take responsibility," Pete glared viciously, glancing at Qinghan and me.
I took advantage of their conversation to step in front of Qinghan, shielding him.
"If you dare make a move today, you’ll lose your hand." I wasn’t threatening him or using a metaphor, just stating a simple fact.
Pete raised his hand and fired, and as the gunshots rang out, Qinghan and I moved simultaneously. I took the hit but charged forward, raising my shovel. The shovel’s edge came down hard on Pete’s wrist.
Bam, bam—
After two rapid gunshots, Pete’s scream followed. His reaction was quick; when he realized he’d shot me and I was still coming at him, he fired two more rapid shots.
But he ultimately used normal thinking to gauge the direction of my approach, so he didn’t manage to dodge the shovel, and his hand was chopped off by its blade.
As he screamed and tried to retreat, I grabbed his other hand and twisted it fiercely in the opposite direction. Crack, his bones were forcibly snapped, and he couldn’t even cry out.
Qinghan moved towards the foreign woman and the old man, kicked the gun out of the old man’s hand, and held the sword against the foreign woman’s neck. She hesitated for a moment due to Pete’s plight, allowing Qinghan to seize her gun.

Moving again, hordes of caterpillars began marching out, drawn by the scent of blood, frantically eager.
"Oh my god, what are those!" It seemed Jerry was seeing the caterpillars for the first time. His weapon lost in some tunnel, he hurried to pick up the old man’s discarded gun, firing at the caterpillars.
Yet, compared to the masses of caterpillars, he was just a drop in the ocean; all his bullets barely killed a dozen.
The caterpillars cared for nothing else now, wanting only fresh food. The death of a companion meant more for the rest to share.
"No, no, no—go away! Help, help me!" Pete rolled on the ground, screaming as all the caterpillars surged towards him.
Qinghan retracted his sword from the foreign woman’s neck, clearly indicating he wouldn’t stop her from saving anyone, but she’d have to find her own weapon.
The foreign woman couldn’t fight caterpillars barehanded. She went to retrieve Pete’s gun, and as she pulled it from Pete’s severed hand, she suddenly turned the gun on Qinghan.
I’d been waiting for this move, immediately pulling Qinghan behind me, just a tad quicker than her trigger finger.
The shot hit my neck, while Qinghan’s sword flew, striking the foreign woman’s right shoulder.
He yanked the sword back by the rope attached to its hilt, and it returned to his hand, the foreign woman’s wound gushing blood uncontrollably.
’Ah’ ’Charge!’ ’Lunch time!’ ’Smells so good!’
The caterpillars sped up towards the source of fresh food, splitting into two groups; one for Pete, one for the foreign woman.
Jerry looked at us; seeing Qinghan and I unmoving, it was clear we weren’t planning to save anyone.
"Can... can I borrow this?" Jerry glanced at Qinghan’s treasure sword. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
Qinghan handed it over without a word. By this time, Pete was already stuck in the goop the caterpillars sprayed, unable to budge at all regardless of his struggles.
The foreign woman could move, injured in the shoulder, her escape path was blood-marked, trailed by the swarm wherever she went.
Desperate, she ran into an open tunnel entrance. No sooner had she entered than I heard a squelching sound, along with bones breaking.
What could I say—it sounded like the noise of someone being squashed into a paste.
Her choice of passage contained a mechanism akin to a pressure plate.
The entire top of the passage was a massive stone slab. Once a person stepped inside and onto the ground, the ceiling would crash down, crushing them into a compressed cookie.
