Jack closed his eyes and began to cultivate. There was a very important discovery he had made long ago. Both his bodies influenced each other, and so did their cultivations. For example, if one of his bodies gained fire immunity, then the other would also slowly begin to develop a similar trait.

It probably would never reach the same extent as the original body, but reaching at least 50% of the effects should be possible over a period of time. That is why Lex was always more than happy to enhance his strength, for his fairy body had started out as incredibly frail.

Now, after a long time, it was much better, but not to the standard he wanted. Similarly, if Jack made any gains in his cultivation, then Lex would also benefit, despite having a higher cultivation. So if he could actually gain some benefits from being tortured by the insidious smell of a hand that had probably never washed, he would just have to accept it.

Jack lost himself in his cultivation, finally getting a reprieve from being tortured, while Lex was once again strolling around the Seraphim resort, being led by Daffy the Daffodil.

"Hey man, are you sure this is okay? I feel weird watching," said Lex with a clear amount of hesitation.

"Look, if you don’t want to watch, I’m not going to force you. But this is entirely natural. Everybody does it, and a lot of people specifically come to the resort just to get a chance to watch."

"Look, I don’t want you to take this the wrong way, but I can’t really judge myself based on what others do. This is just giving me a weird feeling." Stay updated via novelbuddy

"Alright, alright. I can just chalk it up to being a cultural thing you don’t understand. Tell you what? Just follow me to the entrance, see how you feel about the place. If you don’t like it, you don’t have to watch. Besides, it’s not like I’m telling you to participate, so you’re not even obligated to stay."

Lex followed, but it was obvious to anyone who saw him that he wasn’t exactly happy about it.

They arrived in front of a massive, festive looking tent that reminded him of what circuses looked like in cartoons. In front of them there was a whole line of snickering guests, entering the tent impatiently.

"This feels so wrong," Lex muttered under his breath, but went in anyway. To no surprise to Lex, the inside of the tent was actually much larger than the outside showed. In fact, it did not even look like a tent, and instead looked like he had entered another realm. That was because, in a sense, this was another realm.

A soft buzzing sound filled the air, though the source of the sound wasn’t immediately obvious. Of course, Lex already knew what the source of the sound was. It was the very reason he didn’t want to come here.

The sound was produced by bees. Massive, fuzzy, cultivation version of bees that were actually immortals, though these bees didn’t have sentience in the way other immortals did. For all intents and purposes, they were just as smart and self aware as the bees on Earth.

"Oh, it’s already starting!" Daffy exclaimed. "Don’t wait for me, and if you want to go back that’s also fine. I’ll catch you later."

Daffy was too excited to wait for Lex, and hopped on over into the large open fields in front of them.

As the bees sensed Daffy’s presence, they emerged from a distant forest and started to casually make their way towards him. Lex was filled with doubt and hesitation.

High school biology was enough to know that plants pollinated one another through the wind and through the help of insects. He had cracked his fair share of plant-mating jokes when he was a teenager.

But right now, he felt like his mind was being violated as he tried to decide what exactly this qualified as. One of the services that the resort provided was essentially the cultivator version of a petting zoo. The difference was that instead of tiny goats and pups and stuff, they had cute and cuddly bees, who were beloved by all.

The fact that the bees produced a certain type of honey that was basically the elixir of life, capable of reviving most Earth Immortals from the brink of death, and allow even Heavenly immortals to recover from heavy wounds, was also a great incentive to meet them.

Yet Lex could not get over the fact that the bees would also… transfer pollen… from one Deity plant to another and…

It was too much! Lex immediately shut his eyes and teleported out of the tent just before Daffy could hug his first bee.

Somewhere out there, in the universe, there was a kid learning about and laughing at pollination. But here, in the Seraphim resort, Lex was recovering from the trauma of nearly witnessing his friend pollinating with the help of the bees.

One reason he was so out of it was, in fact, the smell. Although Lex could not smell whatever Jack was smelling, since both bodies had the same soul, he was also feeling the aftereffects of smelling it.

Or maybe that nausea was just from the whole bee thing. The verdict wasn’t yet out on that one.

To distract himself, Lex roamed the resort, taking in its splendid views - he was talking about the resort, not the angel baddies who he had spotted once more.

This time, though, they were meeting with another group of angels who were most certainly not political prisoners. In fact, on one of their wrists, Lex saw a watch very similar to the one he saw Giselle wearing once. The Eden watch which had helped her a lot back in that temple of time.

Lex narrowed his eyes as countless thoughts went through his brain, and then decided to go meet them. He was very interested in Eden Corp anyway, and not just because of Giselle. Belle, his sister, also had something to do with it.
