The King's Unbreakable Wife-Chapter 268: Decision (1)
Chapter 268: Decision (1)
Hazel laid awake, staring at the ceiling of her bedroom. Dinner continued without any interruptions and they were able to ignore what happened prior and have a good time with Sofia.
Hazel noticed that Sofia seemed to be slowly turning sadder the more she saw her. She wondered if that was how she appeared to others. She planned to have a talk with Sofia not caring if Tabitha wouldn’t like that she was the one to do it.
Before Sofia could end up in the same position Hazel was in now with overthinking and making herself sad, someone needed to talk with her.
Hazel always knew that eventually, Sofia would realise the other side Tabitha had. Whenever Sofia told Tabitha of her feelings, Hazel hoped that Tabitha would listen and not try to shift blame elsewhere.
Hazel turned her head to the right after Tobias shifted in bed. He laid with his arm around her and his head resting on her chest. Despite the argument that happened to ruin part of the night, Hazel still enjoyed today.
She made more friends and felt close to Tobias again. It put her in a better mood for what she intended to do.
’We cannot go on like this,’ Hazel thought.
She had tried her hardest and now she was forced to keep the promise she made years ago. While Hazel didn’t want to share her husband with anyone, she wanted him to have his heir. She would still love him no matter how much it would hurt to know he had to lay with someone else.
It just needed to be a few times until the woman was pregnant and then it wouldn’t need to happen again should a son be born from it. Should Tobias come to love the woman who was able to give him a child then Hazel would just let him go. She would no longer hold him back and love him from afar.
Hazel closed her eyes, trying to stop the tears. She did not want to wake Tobias with the sound of her weeping. There was at least one hour left to this day and as she said, she wanted it to end on a good note.
’Please understand my decision,’ Hazel thought.
She knew that Tobias would be angry with her finally giving in but they had to do this. Hazel didn’t want to see him arguing with everyone who would bring up the fact they didn’t have a child. They couldn’t hold out any longer since too much time had already passed.
It broke her heart to come to this conclusion. In time, Tobias would see that it was the right decision.
...
Days passed in the palace and with it came more talk about an heir.
Hazel stood in her bedroom, watching as her trunk was taken out. The day Tobias planned for them to be out of the palace was a wonderful treat. A break from all the talking and the perfect alone time for her to bring up what she wanted to do.
There was a lot Hazel needed to confess to Tobias.
"Please have fun on your trip, Queen Hazel. Be well," Daisy said, worried about Hazel but excited for her at the same time. She would have liked to be near to serve Hazel outside of the palace, but the queen needed alone time with her husband.
"Be safe," Julia said. "Are you certain you do not want to take one of us?"
Julia was still upset over Hazel not having an interest in tea these days. It was happening more regularly which was unlike Hazel. There would be trouble if it were to be found that Hazel was pregnant. It would put a stop to what Grant was planning to do soon.
’Why must they leave?’ Julia wondered. Hazel should not be out of her sight.
"I will not need you. It is what the king says and I am following his word. I’ve informed the head maid to give you small tasks to keep you busy but not hard work. Please take this as a small break until I return," Hazel said, hugging Daisy goodbye and then Julia. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
Hazel wasn’t going to be gone long as Tobias had only made plans for a few days. The king couldn’t be away from the palace for too long.
"I must go now so we can set off on time. Excuse me," Hazel said, ready to get out of the palace.
Julia wondered if Grant knew where the king and queen were going to stay. The location was a secret but three homes outside the palace could be used. It was narrowed down to two since Jeffrey and Tabitha were using one.
This would be the perfect time to attack the two rather than having to waste sending out an army to get the king. Unfortunately, Grant was not responding to her letters nor was he accepting her visits. Julia feared that she might have done something to upset him.
Julia hurried to follow Hazel. If only Hazel would accept taking tea that could be warmed up later. She could stop worrying if Hazel would just take one sip. It was even more frustrating that she could not think of the last time the queen bled.
’Someone from the court needs to stop them,’ Julia said to herself. Why didn’t the court get more involved in matters like this to make the queen stay? ’Or is there something they have planned with the king gone?’
Julia tried to remain positive. Grant was close to taking the palace by force so it wouldn’t matter if Hazel was pregnant right now. The child would disappear just as Hazel would and with Hazel out of the palace, Julia looked forward to getting rid of Daisy.
Hazel spotted Tobias speaking with a guard and waited on the side for him to be finished.
It didn’t take long for Tobias to make his way to her side once he saw her waiting.
"Ready to depart?" Tobias asked, offering his hand for them to walk together.
Hazel placed her hand in his. "We can not leave fast enough. Let us be quick before someone comes to disturb us. I am anxious to see where we will be staying."
"Your husband has done well with picking after annoying my friend to get it. It almost cost my life to get this home but after a nice payment, it is ours,’ Tobias answered.
Tobias had to enjoy every bit of the trip as when it was over, Hazel would not like that she would not be returning to the palace.
