The Kitty Became a Cutie and Was Pampered in the 80s-Chapter 1648: Military Training in Progress (Part 10)
When Jiaojiao and Duan Xi arrived, the dormitory supervisor auntie was waiting outside. Seeing them approach, she immediately greeted them with a smile: "Jiaojiao, you’re here! Come on, the food has been ready for a while. I wasn’t sure what you like to eat, so I just cooked a little bit of everything."
Although she said she "just cooked a little bit," it was actually a standard three dishes and a soup. Each dish had some meat, plus a stir-fried cucumber dish, which definitely wasn’t just casually thrown together.
Jiaojiao was always favored by the elders; her appearance was sweet and her words even sweeter. After just one meal, she had Aunt Tang, who already liked her, smiling ear to ear.
After Jiaojiao finished eating and was about to go upstairs to take a nap, Aunt Tang eagerly asked, "Jiaojiao, what would you like for dinner? Aunt Tang will cook for you."
"Aunt Tang’s cooking is great. Everything you make is delicious. Aunt Tang, you decide," Jiaojiao replied with a smile.
"Aww." Aunt Tang was coaxed into a soft spot in her heart. "Alright then, Aunt Tang will decide herself."
Jiaojiao nodded, said goodbye to Duan Xi, and when she returned to the dorm, Li Que and the others had already come back. Jiaojiao, feeling both tired and sleepy, greeted them and climbed into bed to lie down.
Li Que wanted to chat with her when she saw how peacefully Jiaojiao was sleeping, but she had to swallow her words.
Jiaojiao slept until two in the afternoon. When she got up, she felt much more refreshed. Cao Qiu, who had been up for a while, shared a bucket of water she had fetched with Li Que and Liang Wenjing. She asked Jiaojiao, "I brought some water and poured a bit into your basin."
"Okay, thank you, Sister Cao Qiu." Jiaojiao stretched lazily, got off the bed, and washed her face, feeling instantly revitalized.
She remembered that she had rushed out that morning and forgot to apply the sunscreen Gu Zichen had given her. She opened her box, found it, squeezed out a little, and applied it to her face and neck.
Li Que, passing by, curiously glanced at it, but the bottle was all in English, which she, as a sports major, couldn’t understand at all.
Jiaojiao explained, "It’s sunscreen. If you apply it, you won’t get sunburned or tanned. Sister Que, do you want some too?" She turned to ask Cao Qiu and Liang Wenjing: "Sister Cao Qiu, Sister Wenjing, do you want some?"
"There’s actually something like this?" Li Que muttered in surprise. Mimicking Jiaojiao, she squeezed some into her palm, sniffed it curiously, but lacking patience to apply it herself, she smeared the leftover onto Liang Wenjing’s arm: "You do it, Wenjing."
Being a sports student who often trained and was frequently in the sun, Li Que didn’t care about getting tanned. She wasn’t dark-skinned anyway, but rather a healthy wheat color.
Cao Qiu also declined. Just by looking at the bottle, she could tell it was expensive and felt embarrassed to use it.
Jiaojiao didn’t insist. After applying it with Liang Wenjing, the four of them got dressed, closed the door, and left the dormitory. Outside, they ran into Wu Huan, who passing by, looked inside with curiosity and said, "Jiaojiao, so this is where you live."
Jiaojiao was just about to reply when someone suddenly walked by quickly from behind, bumping her shoulder and causing her to lurch to one side.
Li Que hurriedly caught her while Liang Wenjing asked with concern, "Are you okay?"
Jiaojiao shook her head, frowning as she looked forward, only to see the figure of Zheng Jiaojiao running away in the distance. Li Que immediately got angry: "Hey, you bumped into someone and didn’t even apologize?"
But Zheng Jiaojiao didn’t pause, not even turning her head.
