The Last King Of Darkness-Chapter 1551 - 736: The Path Forward
Rod found it quite incomprehensible.
He had already prepared himself for a battle after killing the Blood God, but the raging black fog suddenly subsided.
"Is it the Royal City?" Rod asked.
Horus shook his head, "No, I haven’t received any such news, and we don’t have those means. Until now, besides dispelling the black fog with fire and using the Spirit’s Curtain of the Star Marrow Altar to gather the fog, we have no way to affect it."
Alehon said gravely, "Pacifying the black fog riot caused by Source feedback is the dream ability of the Trolian Kingdom. We’ve been researching this area for countless years, but so far, we’ve achieved nothing."
Kai pondered, "Is it possible that it’s the power of the True King? After all, no one has ever stepped into the domain of the True King."
Everyone’s gaze turned to Bossivale, as he was the one most knowledgeable about the True King here.
Bossivale shook his head slightly.
"Probably not, the True King has the ability to combat the black fog but cannot pacify its chaos, unless through a war."
Horus added, "The King also never mentioned anything like that."
Rod asked again, "Has such a thing happened before?"
"No, such a big disturbance has never occurred."
Rod furrowed his brows and fell into thought.
In the Dream Realm, both the Book of Knowledge and Asa denied this possibility.
Asa explicitly told Rod that neither the Ancient Evil Thought nor the Divine Envoy of Supreme Will had such capabilities, and they would only seek to induce the black fog riot, not pacify it.
All possibilities were refuted, but abnormalities don’t happen for no reason.
Rod pondered for a moment, and suddenly thought of a possibility.
"Could it be possible that there exists a human kingdom?"
Everyone’s eyes lit up.
Indeed, why couldn’t it be another human kingdom apart from Trolian acting?
According to legends, after the end of the Fire Epoch, five human heroes fled the Main Continent with the Holy Fire Seed. They were respectively the Starry King of the Starry Kingdom, Tasnia, the Saint Reel of the Saint Rel Kingdom, the hero Trolian who established the Trolian Kingdom, and the other two are unknown.
The first two have been annihilated, but not necessarily the latter two.
Horus contemplated, "If this is true, then why didn’t they come to assist us? The Blood God’s commotion nearly swept half of the Gray Soil Continent."
"No way!"
Luo Weiya suddenly became excited.
"Perhaps they aren’t on this continent. As is well known, there are four continents in total; they could be on other continents!"
This statement immediately opened everyone’s mind.
Bossivale pondered, "If not on the same continent, then it would be really difficult to observe. The endless black fog would obscure all disturbances. They could only see the heavy, bottomless Dark World, unable to see the light of fire nor observe the fluctuation of Spiritual Energy, akin to how we observe faraway places."
Viheler swore, "Damn it, the White Tower can already cast its sight onto the distant Outer Spirit Realm, yet it can’t see the outlines of another continent."
Indeed, this was perplexing to everyone, as the White Tower couldn’t even see the edge of the Gray Soil Continent. Beyond the fire glare, past three thousand kilometers, there was only heavy darkness, with the endless black fog eternally surging deep in the darkness, unchanged.
Horus asked again, "But how would they know about the black fog riot?"
"The black fog riot is on a large scale; it must be a phenomenon that can be observed macroscopically."
Bossivale’s tone grew urgent; the more he spoke, the more likely it seemed.
"A powerful human civilization must be constantly observing the black fog’s movements. Such a large disturbance they would surely notice. If I’m not mistaken, they must have thought this was yet another disaster from the Dark World, so they deployed special means to subdue this disaster. To us, it appeared as though the black fog suddenly calmed."
Silence fell in the Guardian Fire Sacrificial Ground, broken only by the sound of heavy breathing.
Everyone quietly felt the burning sensation in their souls, that intoxicating feeling of approaching victory.
What could be more delightful than finding a strong ally in such a harsh environment?
Luo Weiya suddenly sighed longingly, "I knew it; humanity is on the cusp of rising. The light of fire will surely illuminate this world!"
Rod’s heart was filled with joy too; achieving this level meant that human civilization must be incredibly strong, perhaps there were several True Kings among them.
If they could cleverly leverage their strength and acquire a few Divine Souls, perhaps soon, even killing a few Demigods possessing Divine Souls wouldn’t be out of reach.
With this, he might light up this Giant Star in no time.
When Trolian also has several True Kings, humanity’s rise is no longer a dream. Perhaps they could even break the limit on the number of True Kings.
Of course, Rod in his heart didn’t believe the path pointed by the Book of Knowledge was the only way. It mostly assumed Eye of Divine couldn’t find the Source Material nor awaken Star Soul, but Rod didn’t think it was impossible.
