The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse-Chapter 678 : The Awakening of a Great Calamity (2)
Far from the space where Klaus and Nari were, Queen Lunara looked at the three ladies beside her, and a teasing smile appeared.
"Is it just me, or is someone trying to steal your husband, ladies?" she said with a cheeky smile.
"That's Nari, and she's not trying to steal our man. She's just a friend," Ohema smirked, looking in Klaus and Nari's direction.
"Hmm. I say friends don't kiss like that," Queen Lunara said again, making the three ladies narrow their eyes in Klaus's direction.
Nari had wrapped her legs around Klaus's waist, and her hands were on his shoulders, their lips connected in a fierce kiss that was doing more than just Klaus giving her his blood.
"You don't seem surprised seeing Klaus now turn into an elf," Queenie asked, trying to change the topic. Her mom just smiled and chose to stop teasing them.
"For someone like him to talk about bloodlines like that, it's only normal to assume he had awakened his. So, seeing him take a new form isn't a shock to me."
The ladies didn't say anything and continued to watch as Klaus and Nari kissed.
Klaus's hand was gripping her butt, and from the way he was holding her, one could tell he wasn't taking any chances. Nari had initiated the kiss, and now he was kissing her back.
Though he knew this was happening, he still wouldn't be sure of the outcome until she fully evolved into a phoenix and not turned into a great calamity.
So they were kissing, but Klaus was ready to spring into action the moment the beautiful redhead went berserk.
"Relax, Klaus. I'm not crazy. I just wanted to kiss you, and I did. Now, I can feel your blood working, so let me break through first, and we can continue later."
"Continue what?" Klaus asked, pretending he had no idea what she meant.
"You better be prepared, Klaus; you won't be getting a breather when I am done," Nari said, staring intently at Klaus, who couldn't think of anything except how unpredictable the lady seemed.
He could tell she was on the edge and might lose control at any moment.
"Just don't keep the heavens waiting. Your drinking my blood has prevented something dangerous from happening, and since they can't do anything to me, they will try to come after you."
Klaus said, recalling what the senior had told him about great calamities.
They were meant to destroy. So, taming one wouldn't be something the heavens would take lying down. Klaus knew this, so he allowed Nari to use the Flame Transformation inside the cube.
This would give her a chance against the heavens, and hopefully, Klaus wouldn't have to intervene.

"Don't worry, I'll be fine," Nari said confidently, causing Klaus to nod.
"Then do your best."
"Just wait," Nari said, pulling him in for one last kiss before she sat down and began to meditate.
'She is crazy,' Klaus thought, smiling, knowing he would soon have this craziness in his harem. The lady sitting naked on the ground is no one he could underestimate until she is tamed.
He flew away, landing only when he was far enough. The four ladies arrived beside him.
"Is she okay?" Queenie asked.
"Yes, she is fine. But she is crazy at the moment," Klaus answered.
"I'd say she is fine, considering how she just kissed you," Ohema said with a chuckle.
"What can I say? Women find me irresistible," Klaus laughed, causing the three ladies to roll their eyes. Queen Lunara, however, was looking at Queenie, who was undergoing the final phase of her evolution.
"Is she also a beast?" she asked.
"Yes. She is a phoenix awakening her bloodline and heavenly body constitution."
"I see," Queen Lunara nodded.
"What should we do now?" Miriam asked.
"We should just wait until she is done. The rest will be her tribulation, which will determine whether Earth will get its first phoenix."
They began waiting for Nari, who was doing her best to see it through.
Six hours later, the clouds started forming, signalling the arrival of the tribulation. This meant Nari had succeeded. Now, she just had to face the tribulation, and she would become a full-fledged phoenix.
"It's about to start," Klaus said.
He and the ladies looked up and saw Nari hovering mid-air, watching the clouds form above.
In her grip was her bow, and now covering her body were red and golden feathered scales acting as clothes.
*Rumble.*
Thunder rocked the moon, shaking it vigorously. Klaus narrowed his eyes at the clouds, trying to see if he could figure out what was coming. He knew something was amiss.
*Rumble.*
The moon shook again, and this time, Klaus sensed something approaching. The feeling was familiar, as he had experienced the same change and sensation many years ago.
It was when he came out of the Bloodline Awakening Tower.
'Heaven's Descent.'
His blood grew cold as a bow appeared in his grip.
"Klaus, what is going on?" Queenie asked.
"Nothing to worry about. But know that things might escalate at any moment, so when that happens, quickly retreat, and no matter what, don't come any closer," Klaus replied, already emitting battle intent.
"You're scaring us, Klaus," Miriam said, sensing something was truly wrong. She looked at Klaus and then up at the clouds.
"Don't worry, ladies. Everything will be fine." As Klaus said those words, a thunderstrike descended from within the clouds and stopped below the tribulation cloud.
"Is that a demon?" Queen Lunara asked, staring at the figure that had appeared there.
"No, ladies. That is what you call a messenger of the heavens. I call them slaves of the heavens because that idiot there is here to kill Nari, and it's all my fault."
Klaus's fists clenched as he gritted his teeth.
[Brat, don't do anything stupid. The one about to face the heavens' messenger is a Great Calamity, who has the blood of a paragon running through her veins. I say trust her and watch.]
'But Senior, we both know this is not a normal tribulation. That is a real person who the heavens have recognized.
He has nothing to lose because even if he dies here, he will be awakened wherever he came from. This means he will put everything into this battle.
And knowing the heavens, they will do anything to stop someone of Nari's destiny from becoming my ally.'
[Yes, I know that. But until you meet a Great Calamity, you will never know what they are made of. If I am not mistaken, I feel you will discover something interesting soon.
Just don't intervene until the last moment. So relax and watch.]
"A calamity being born in a place like this. How unexpected," the figure spoke, and everyone who heard him understood every single word.
It was as if the universe itself was translating his words for them. But in reality, it was just Klaus being nearby that allowed everyone to understand what the messenger had said.
"I know, right?" Nari smirked. "So why don't you die?"
She moved, and before the figure could take action, Nari was in front of him.
BOOM.
The entire moon turned red.
