The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse-Chapter 690: First Contracted Beast
From the multi-dimensional cube, Klaus discovered that mutated beasts are creatures with unlimited potential. They are hybrids with blood from two different beasts.
They can also be tribrids if they have bloodlines from three different places. And there can be more than three or even four.
Of course, not all mutants were special.
Most were subpar, mainly because of the bloodlines from which they were built. But if the bloodlines they were made of were from two powerful beasts, then their output would be monstrous.
In this instance, Klaus was about to meet one such beast.
The jaguar he was about to encounter, according to the data obtained from the multi-dimensional cube and the image he saw, he got to know that it was a beast from three different bloodlines—or at least that was how it was supposed to have been formed.
It was a jaguar with patterns and features of a panther and a third trait that could only have come from a serpent.
If these three traits were combined, he could tell this tri-breed was a monster among monsters.
So Klaus wanted it.
If it rejected him or didn’t have an affinity with his blood, he would simply kill it and move on. But he sure hoped he was right.
Klaus moved deeper into the mountain, where the lightning was very intense, and the energy in the air was thick with power.
He loved it because the deeper he went, the more he could absorb the essence and the higher his chances of increasing his strength.
When he was 300 meters away from the heart of the lightning, he came to a stop when he felt the aura directed toward him.
It was from a demi-beast with a humanoid beast body and a beast-like head. Lightning danced around its body, and just looking into those intense blue eyes was enough to tell Klaus that this beast was a true warrior.
He can tell it isn’t a weak opponent when engaged in combat with it.
[That is one powerful beast there, brat. I have to say, your world is very small compared to most worlds out there, but the potential it is hiding is something I cannot even understand.]
The senior’s words made Klaus smile.
He had thought the same. Though he could easily kill monsters and beasts several stages above him, he had fought enough to know that the monsters and beasts weren’t weak.
This meant the potential of Earth was great. The only thing holding them back was the awakening.
Once that was over, humans could start awakening their bloodlines, or those who already had but were locked would become unlocked.
That would unleash this hidden potential. He can already see a lot of hidden potential.
’I wonder if this will go well or not,’ Klaus sighed and transformed into an elf. This was the only way for him to determine if the beast was compatible.
He looked at the beast and sign.
"I know you are smart and can realize you are not strong enough to face me. So be wise and stay where you are.
If you meet my expectations, I will make you an Overlord beast, meaning you will become a beast among beasts.
But if you fail to meet that, I will decide whether or not to kill you. You have a higher chance of surviving if you don’t attack."
Klaus spoke as he moved closer.

When he was 200 meters away, a golden thread, invisible to the eye, shot from his eyes and merged with the body of the beast.
At once, Klaus felt a multitude of things that made him smile despite the demi-beast being ready to attack the brat who was treating it as if it were nothing.
Klaus sensed the hidden potential of the beast and its possible evolution paths. He saw what it would become should he go on with his plan.
He knew how to accomplish many of these paths. He knew how to make it grow and possibly jump through the gate like a carp, finally becoming a dragon.
Klaus saw it all.
He saw how to make it gain new mutations and how to set it on the path of becoming a true overlord among beasts.
Klaus saw so much potential that he laughed out loud like a maniac. What he saw and what he could do put him in such a mood.
[Is it good, brat?] The senior wanted to know. Klaus smiled and shared what he had seen with him.
[This is...holy. This is awesome. And come on...how can one person’s bloodline be this powerful? Just where did the Star Monarch bloodline come from?] The senior was dumbfounded.
’No need to be jealous, Old Man. I spent eight incarnations working toward that ninth, so of course, it had to be the best, and I made sure it was the best.
Now, I have the perfected version, so it’s only a matter of time before I start commanding an army of Celestial beasts.
Who could stop me by then?’
[I can only imagine that sight.]
’Don’t imagine it, Senior. I will make it a reality.’ Klaus turned to the mutant beast and nodded at it. He was more than happy to give it his blood, but first, he must check something.
"You have reached the standards to evolve. Now, I’m not asking you to follow me now and help me fight my battles. I am already strong enough to fight my own battles.
What I want from you is your dedication and determination to grow and become someone I can rely on. I want you to rise to the stage where, when the time comes, you will stand by my side and face the chaos with me.
So, I will ask once, and before answering, remember how your two guards died and imagine dying like that—a very pitiful death.
So imagine that and give me a good answer. Your potential is something I cannot watch go to waste.
So I ask, do you want to become my contracted beast and fight with me when you are called upon?"
Klaus’s question was the most inspiring thing any beast with a conscience would accept. But that would depend on how much they truly understood reason and could reason on their own.
To many, killing Klaus would be their next move. But those are just too stupid. True beasts can reason and analyze stuff.
The Mutated Jaguar looked at Klaus and kept staring at him for three full minutes before giving its answer.
"I will accept your offer on one condition."
"And that is?"
"You will help me kill a Tier 10 beast...specifically, the Blue Streak Cheetah. It’s a lightning-type beast, and the only thing I need from it is the heart and core."
"Just that?" Klaus raised an eyebrow.
If that was all, then he was ready to accept the offer. The Star Monarch bloodline could not be forced on the beasts. It had to be accepted.
Similarly, the beast or monster could not take it forcefully; it had to be given willingly.
"Yes, just that."
"I accept your offer. So, why don’t I send you somewhere for now? I was meant to kill you, after all, so you better be out of here."
"Fine."
The jaguar and Klaus vanished into the cube.
