Chapter 12: Vibrator

[Lorraine Fortune’s Sexual Partners]

[N/A]

...

Another virgin?

"Excuse me, ma’am?"

As Adal caught up to the woman, she froze for a moment, not turning around at first.

She looked over her shoulder, and Adal noticed how flushed her cheeks were.

"Y-yes?" She stuttered.

"This item. Where did you find it?"

Finally, Lorraine turned around to face Adal. She struggled to meet his eye, but tried her best to speak with the dignity of a noblewoman.

"I-if you are hoping to trade, then I’m sorry but I can’t. I have grown fond of this pen you see.".

Her lie was not convincing, but it did not matter.

Adal shook his head.

"Don’t worry, the pen is yours. All I want to know is where you found this item?"

Every time Adal gestured towards the item wrapped in fabric, Lorraine became jittery. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

Up close, she really is cute. If only she was not dressed in such loose-fitting clothing, so I could see her figure.

"I randomly stumbled upon the item during an action. Ahem, um, before purchasing, I was not aware of what its uses were. If I had known, I would have never bought it, you see..."

Another pathetic lie.

Woman, can’t you tell that I don’t care if you are a pervert? We all are.

"Do you have access to more of these auctions?" Adal asked.

"Yes... Every week. Why?"

Adal suddenly pulled out a small card from his pocket. It had the location of his library on it, as well as the opening hours.

He had made them a long time ago, in preparation for its opening.

"If you happen to stumble into any more of these items with the word "Earth" in them, please contact me at my library."

Lorraine took the card and examined it for a few moments.

Her brows rose.

"That giant library on Offbridge Street, that belongs to you."

Adal flashed the woman a warm smile and tilted his head slightly.

"It is. Of course, feel free to visit if you have any interest in reading, do pay me a visit as well. I am known for handing out food recommendations."

With that said, Adal nodded his head to the woman and turned, preparing to leave.

Before he did, the woman called out to him once more.

"Wait! This word, "earth". What does it mean? Nobody at the auction had any idea."

"..."

Adal paused for a second, wondering what he should respond.

"I’m not sure. Perhaps it is a fantasy world from one of my library’s novels."

---

After his conversation with Lorraine, Adal hired another carriage and returned to his library.

However, he had not opened it yet.

First, he headed up to his room to examine the vibrator.

It was black and designed exactly as one would be back on Earth.

It used a type of plastic that had not yet been invented in the world of Boen.

Most importantly, Adal could see all of the charging ports which were most certainly a product of advanced technology.

Yet somehow, Lorraine had managed to use it?

Could it be that mana carries similar properties to electricity and can therefore be used to charge it?

Adal could have tested this, but his only method of producing what he assumed was mana, was to extract lust from a woman and convert it.

"..."

A plan entered his mind, so he stored the artefact away and headed downstairs to open the library.

Once it was, he waited...

---

After a few hours, a familiar face entered the library.

The library was already filled with its usual customers, this face was different from others.

It was the face of a woman that didn’t belong there.

As she approached the counter, Adal pretended to only just see her.

"Penelope, what can I do for you?"

To his surprise, the woman looked much... Different today.

Whilst still dressed in expensive clothing, it stood out much more than the useless green and golden dresses he saw her wearing on casual days.

She wore a flowing brown skirt that barely reached her knees, a white long-sleeve cardigan with buttons that struggled against her breasts, and black tights that clung tight to her legs.

She also seemed to hold her much less high than she usually would.

"I... I have come to borrow a book." The woman stuttered.

A book... Have we not tried this already?

Penelope flicked a strand of green hair from her face.

"I was hoping you might be able to give me a recommendation."

"..."

Adal paused and checked her thoughts. To his surprise, there was no lust on her mind at that current moment.

What is she planning?

Despite his suspicions, it was still Adal’s job to recommend books to his visitors. Not to mention, this lined up perfectly with his own plans in the world of Boen.

He nodded his head and started making his way through the giant rows of bookshelves.

"Follow me."

They passed many different visitors in the various isles being captivated by the world of books.

This was why Adal did what he did. He loved to see the way people could become so engrossed in words.

What made this even better was the fact that a lot of the contents of his library were written by himself.

Including the book he had just handed to Penelope.

A Woman With Many Lovers

As she took the book in her hand, Penelope tried her best not to become frustrated.

It was the same book he had given her last time!

"I am not sure if you’re trying to disrespect me, but this time I truly came looking for a book to read. Tell me, did I come to the wrong man to find this?"

Her frustration grew with every word, but she managed to maintain a respectful tone.

Adal shook his head.

"This isn’t meant to disrespect you, ma’am. Give it a few Chapters, and you will find this book is very enjoyable."

I wrote it myself, after all. It was very popular in the modern day back on Earth.

Penelope examined the book carefully, as if contemplating whether taking the book would be a dishonour to herself... If she still had any.

Eventually, she sighed.

"Okay, I will read this book. What should I pay you?"

"There is no cost. Just a few details that I will need for you, to make sure that you return the book to the library."

With that said, Penelope followed Adal back to the library to fill in her details into a logbook. Then, she left the library.

A smile spread across Adal’s face as he watched her leave. There was something different about her that day, he could tell.

Now, we wait.
