Ivan chuckled when he heard Ember’s statement. The Ward couple didn’t react much. They really did think they boarded a pirate ship. However, the pirate ship paid the bills, so they were fine with it.

"So, we’ve all just signed a magical soul-binding contract to survive doomsday by having so much sex I might be sucked dry." Ivan winked at Ember. "I’ve had weirder days. So what do we do now?"

"Now, we get a crap load of food. We need 10 tons of non-perishables, 5,000 gallons of water, and agricultural seeds," Ember said lightly.

"Ten tons?" Alex whistled. "That’s...a bit much, don’t you think?"

"It’s doomsday, you can never have enough," Ember shrugged.

"Leave it to me. I know a guy who knows a guy. He can get us pretty much anything we need. I refuse to only eat canned foods. I have standards," Ivan protested.

"Whatever you get, make sure it can feed a fuck ton of people. If you want to get the fancy stuff for yourself, do it. I can keep it fresh for you for however long you can live," Ember said.

Aiden had been watching the exchange, still holding Ember close to him. "Ivan, do whatever you need to do. Just make sure people don’t know about it. It’s not exactly the easiest thing to explain. We have three weeks, let Adrienne and Alex help you."

The meeting with the five people only took a little over an hour. The three people would take care of everything. Over the next three weeks, they would stockpile the things in a warehouse Ivan owned.

Ember and Aiden would empty it once a week. The last time being the day before doomsday.

Today, Ember and Aiden had something specific they needed to do.

He didn’t tell anyone about it because he only finalized things yesterday. The time was tight. He knew someone who would help them, so he made contact with them yesterday.

"Em, we’re going to meet someone today, and I’ll need your help," Aiden said.

"His name is Sergei. He’s a snake, but he has guns. He owes me a favour. I talked to him last night, and he’s willing to help out, but I have to go in person. I don’t want you in danger, but I need the system’s skillset."

He hugged her close to his body.

She could see the reluctance in his eyes. Her arms went around his waist.

"It’s fine. We’re in this together, aren’t we?" Ember asked.

"Definitely," Aiden declared.

"Then let’s go."

An hour later, they arrived at a damp, musty warehouse on the city’s outskirts. From the outside, it looked as if no one had set foot in there in years. But once inside, you could see the operation happening.

"Aiden!" Sergei’s voice boomed. "It’s been a while, hasn’t it? And who is this beautiful creature?"

Ember gave Aiden a side glance. A while? Has Aiden been here before?

Sergei’s eyes linger a little too long for Ember’s comfort. Aiden wraps his arm around her.

"This is Em," Aiden replied in a cold voice. "As I told you last night, I need some things."

"You did," Sergei said, still looking at Ember. "That’s an arsenal. Are you looking to start a small war?"

Aiden didn’t answer, but his eyes narrowed.

Sergei put his hands up in surrender. He gave Aiden a price, one three times higher than market value. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

Aiden’s jaw tightened. "You owe for the container situation in Dubai. Are you sure you want to do this?"

"A favour is a favour. Business is business. The world is unstable right now," Sergei said, a sly smile plastered on his face.

Ember knew this was where Aiden needed her to step in. She didn’t say anything, only unleashing her skill. The air in the office shifted. She met Sergei’s eyes, a small smile playing on her lips.

"You know," Ember said, her voice mesmerising both men. "Aiden takes good care of his friends." She took a step towards Sergei, touching his arm. It would be a shame if a business disagreement got in the way of...a fruitful relationship."

Ember shifted closer to Sergei, slightly leaning forward, giving Sergei a view of her breasts.

Sergei stared, mesmerized. He blinked. "A typo," he stammered. "It was a typo." His eyes never left her breasts. "For a good friend like Aiden, of course, there’s a discount."

They walked out of the warehouse twenty minutes late. As soon as they got into the car, Aiden placed Ember on his lap.

"You enjoyed that a little too much, little thing." His lips skated against her neck.

"Maybe," Ember didn’t deny it. "Or maybe I like the way you looked at me when I did it."

She took his hand, leading it up her skirt. When they got to the place where her panties should be, he felt that she wasn’t wearing any. She removed her hand, but he left his there.

"Why are you wearing anything?" He growled. His hand was still resting there.

"I didn’t think we would be leaving the house today. I thought we were going back to bed after everyone left, so I didn’t wear any." She said it, sounding as innocent as possible.

Finally, Aiden’s fingers moved. He felt the slickness.

Ember’s body shudders as his finger slips between her folds.

"Is this for me?" Aiden murmured against her skin.

Ember nodded. Her body jerked as he circled her clit.

He pulled away and fixed her skirt.

"Wait until we get home, Em. I think I need to show you where you went wrong."
