Sitting on the couch, Ember looked at Cassandra. She pondered what she should talk to her about. If she were honest, she wasn’t particularly curious about anything that had happened to her. But some kind of entertainment was better than none.

Ember’s eyes shone as she waited for Cassandra to talk.

Cassandra blushed, "There’s nothing to talk about. The world is like this now. Who has time to talk about relationships?"

Cassandra was shocked but quickly composed herself. She hadn’t expected Ember to make it known like this. Although Ember did not say exactly what she had to give it. She knew, and that was enough to make her blush.

"Go on, Cass," Ember encouraged.

Luka immediately broke a piece of chocolate and gave it to Ember. She promptly stuffed the chocolate in Aiden’s mouth. He chewed and swallowed.

"See," said Ember smugly, "not poisoned. So stop worrying and eat it."
