Chapter 34: Chapter 34

*Leonora*

I felt a tear drop and I rushed to wipe it off my face. I didn’t want him to know how his words hurt me. It felt like a knife was stuck in my chest. Bethany was right. She was right all along. I should have just accepted his rejection. Then I wouldn’t have to hear him say these vile things to me.

Another year rolled out of my eyes and my heart pounded wildly in my heart. I watched as Jason’s eyes softened as he watched the tears roll out of my eyes.

"Leo, I didn’t mean that." He said as he tried to touch me but I moved back. He meant every single word. "Leonora." I shook my head and turned around to walk away. I felt his hand on mine as he pulled me. He walked out of the room, pulling me along with him. I noticed it was starting to get dark outside. I didn’t even notice because Jax had all my attention.

He pulled me into a room and closed the door behind me. "This is our movie room and it’s has noise cancellations in-built." He said as he let go of my hand.

"Jax, just let me go, okay?" I asked as he paced around me. I just needed him to let me go back to the staff quarters. I wanted to talk to Bethany. I wanted her to cuddle me and tell me how she was right.

"Leonora, I can’t." Jax said as he held my hand and pulled me over to the large couch in the middle of the room. "Leo, I feel something for you and I want to share it with you. Only you." Lies! All lies! But why did it feel so real? Why did I feel like we were connecting on a deeper level? Why did my heart crave for him?

"Jax, please don’t lie to me! I’m just tired of this rat chase." I said and he lifted his hand and cupped my cheek. I flinched at his touch and I could see his eyes dim at my words. "I’ll accept your rejection. Just let me go."

"Don’t you feel something? This thing gnawing at you?" Jax started. "Have you never thought of what it would be like if we were in a relationship? It seems terrifying-"

"Because you are terrifying, Jax. How can I be with someone that can never trust me?" I asked as I felt the tears gather in my eyes. A familiar lump was building and I knew that any slight push would send me spiraling. I needed a break. He moved closer to me and softly pulled me a bit closer.

"And how can I trust you when you cheated on me?" He asked me and I sighed. How could he still believe that? After all these years! He’s trying to tell me that he never pondered on another reason why I would have been in bed with Noah?

"I never cheated. Noah was like a brother to me. The only person I wanted was you but you pushed me away." I said, letting my tears fall freely. "Noah was the only man in my life who made me feel like I was worth something. He used to tell me that we would grow up to be something great someday."

"And you would be. I say all these things to hurt you because I don’t want to admit my feelings." He confessed. "Every time I look at you I want to kiss you. I want to fall asleep and wake up next to you. There’s so much that I hold myself back from. But I can never be that man for you. You’ll want me to be delicate and emotional but I’m not."

"Kiss me, Jax. Just do it." He slowly leaned forward and I lightly gasped as he adjusted closer to me.

"If I do this, there’s no going back." He said as he pushed my hair behind my ears, cocking his head to the side and leaning into the crook of my neck. I felt his lips feverishly place kisses on my neck.

"I don’t care. I want you Jax." I whispered as I leaned back giving him more access to my neck. He pulled away from me, searching my eyes as if asking for my permission. He didn’t need it. He had me right where he wanted me. His hands cupped both my cheeks and he led me to lay on the couch.

He pressed his lips on mine and for a minute it felt like the world stopped. His tongue snaked in my mouth as he searched for mine. It felt like our mouths were dancing to the same rhythm. I moaned lightly as his hands found the straps of my dress. He pulled away and searched my eyes. I panted heavily as my hands snaked around his neck.

"Leo-"

"Call me Nora." I interrupted him as I pulled him closer to me, pressing my breasts against his hard chest. "Jax."

"If I do this, Nora. There’s no going back." He whispered and I nodded. I heard the sound of a door but I was too transfixed on Jax to care. All I wanted was him. I wanted him right now.

"I don’t care. I want to be with you, Jax." I responded. My body felt lighter as I released myself to him. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

"I want to be with you. But not here." He said as he sat up. I followed after him, sitting up and adjusting my hair and the straps of my dress. I didn’t want to look like a mess.

I gathered the little courage I had and I climbed over his thighs, straddling him. "Please be slow and gentle." I said as his hands held my waist as he gently moved me over him. I could feel the bulge in his jeans as he groaned, throwing his head back on the head of the couch.

"I love you, Nora."
