The Lycan king-Chapter 89
*Leonora*
I made my way up the stairs feeling a lot better than I did earlier. I felt a lot more calmer knowing that Jax still wanted the same things as I did and he was ready to support me. It was nice that he supported me in more ways than one and the only thing I had to do was give him a baby. An heir. This made the result of the test a lot better. Knowing that we are both fertile now made me feel happy. Maybe the goddess was waiting for the right time to bless with a baby. I really hoped the time was now. I wanted to do it for Jax. Give him something that he would love and cherish forever.
I knocked on the door and waited until I came to face Bethany who had a messy hair and a large smile on her face. "Don’t even say anything." I said as I walked into the apartment. I made my way over to the couch and made myself comfortable.
"Babe, who is it?" I heard Devon call from the kitchen. They really did make up. I couldn’t recall anytime I had heard Devon call Bethany any sweet name.
"It’s Leonora. Jax didn’t come along with her. She said as she came to the living room. She plopped down on the single seat and ran her fingers through her hair, taming the wild beast. "So where did you guys go to?"
"We went to the clinic. Jax wanted us to give you guys some space. We could hear you through the walls and you were extremely loud." I said with a teasing smirk. Now it was no longer her turn to tease me. Devon and Bethany had made us so uncomfortable that we had to leave. Jax was a bit annoyed because we had to leave for the clinic. I was pretty sure that if I had left him, I probably wouldn’t be walking by now.
"Payback." She laughed. "All I can say is that, Devon was holding back. It’s like he was an animal. I’m glad that he was able to hear me because I don’t think I would have been really ready to talk to him about it." Bethany admitted. Jax and I never used our mate bond. After that day I felt his emotions, I knew I had to give him a little bit of privacy. It would also cloud my judgement whenever we would fight and I liked being clear headed. Even if Jax would never admit it, he felt things a lot. His emotions were almost too heavy for me to feel and I had to shut it off.
"Well to make it more fun, Jax wants to take us to the club later." I announced and Bethany squealed in her seat. Being Kitchen volunteers meant no access to so many things and I was happy that I was going to give Bethany that access. I couldn’t let her continue living as a kitchen volunteer. She was my best friend and confidante which meant she would receive a better treatment than she did before. That was why I made Jax get us a room in the mansion. "Did you come with the dresses I told you to pack?
"Yes. Oh! I already have a style in my head." She said and I smiled. "I also saw your curling wand and hair straightener in your bathroom. I’m so going to doll myself up."
"I literally forgot about those." I exclaimed. "We have to take it back. I also wanted to get makeup. I’ll try and get Jax to take us to get makeup. Especially since the ball is coming and the elites will be there."
"We’ve been having funny that I completely forgot about the ball." Bethany said and I shrugged it off. It was completely understandable. The whole point of this getaway was to relax and have fun. Jax wanted a break from the meetings he was having and I wanted Bethany to get a break from her planning.
There was a knock on the door and Bethany went to answer it. A man walked into the apartment and immediately pulled Bethany for a hug.
"You must be Leonora." He said and Bethany looked over at me. I shrugged as a way to tell her that I didn’t know who that was.
"No, I’m not." The man quickly pulled away. "That’s her." Bethany pointed over to me. I stood up and held a hand out for him to shake but he immediately pulled me in for a hug. He squeezed the life out of me, causing me to shut my eyes and scrunch my face.
"I’m so glad that I’m finally meeting you. Jax speaks so highly of you." He said as he let me go. As I opened my eyes to meet a set of eyes filled with fury.
Jax stood by the door, staring at me. Watching me to see what I would do as if he was daring me. I didn’t know why he was angry at me as I had done nothing wrong. He turned and walked out of the apartment. After what felt like thirty seconds, he walked back into the apartment.
Devon stepped out of the kitchen holding a tray with four glasses of wine. Jax picked two glasses and gulped them down. I think Devon could sense the tension as he looked over at Jax, then me and the random man then back at Jax.
"We will be going out in a couple of hours. If you’re late, I’ll leave you." Jax announced as he dropped the glasses and picked up the other two. "Micah, meet me outside. I need to have a word with you." Jax said as he walked outside with the random man, now known as Micah.
"Jax is so jealous. What happened?" Devon asked as he walked to the living room with the teo empty glasses on the tray.
"That guy hugged her."
