Chapter 182: Am I A Princess?

A few days later, Mr Vladimir refused to go to his company. News about the prime minister dropping out of the project spread like wildfire. Others were starting to withdraw their investment.

The old man locked himself inside the house, ignoring the calls and messages from his company. He knew he was in trouble. Chrishan was also nowhere to be found.

"How did this happen? It’s all that boy’s fault! Only if he had agreed to marry the prime minister’s daughter..." He smashed the glass he was holding and he started to bleed. The butler wore a worried look on his face.

"Master, Miss Viola has left the country. It seems like she has a successful business in the US. It would be therefore difficult for her to agree to get married to the prime minister’s son,"

He frowned deeply.

"Those two! They are paying back what I did to their mother. I’ll teach them a lesson. First, where is Chrishan?"

"He’s presently not in the estate. He must be at the company. I’ll call for him, Master," the butler left and started attempting to reach Chrishan.

.

However, Chrishan was watching them on his laptop through the CCTV. He wasn’t alone, he was with Eduardo.

"He’s going to call you..." Eduardo said. Chrishan took out his phone and waved it at Eduardo.

"See. I turned it off already. No matter how hard they try, they won’t be able to reach me," he smirked.

"I guess you’ll need my help now," Eduardo folded his hands and Chrishan nodded his head.

Eduardo pressed his lips together. Chrishan helped him reveal Fabio’s secret to him so he has to do his part of the deal and reveal Mr Vladimir’s dirty secret to the public.

"What did you do to that Fabio? To think he’s the manufacturer of that popular APHRO-16 and even drugged you. He’s more of an animal than I thought,"

"I sent him out of the Ivanov mansion. He won’t be able to work here anymore... As long as I’m the master," Eduardo said.

Chrishan smiled and leaned forward.

"How nice of you, Eduardo Ivanov. What if he returns and does something... more dangerous,"

"Then... I’ll kill him with my hands even if it takes my life," Eduardo replied with a serious expression on his face.

"If you need my help, make sure to let me know..."

Eduardo was silent. Then he heard his phone chime. He stared at the file in his inbox. It was from Chrishan. The one he sent through his laptop.

"What’s this?" He asked.

"Secrets... Dirty secrets about your grandfather. All I need you to do is help me expose them under another name. He must never know that I was the one who revealed them," he said.

"Sounds easy. It’ll be exposed tonight..." Eduardo placed his phone back on the table without going through the documents.

Chrishan was relieved to hear that. He slapped his laptop close and sprung up.

"I guess I should get going now. I have to be by that old man’s side so he won’t suspect me,"

"Congratulations in advance. But I should remind you, once you become the head of the Vladimir’s family, your sister will find out your secret,"

"Erm... You deal with her. She’s to be your wife, isn’t she?"

"You trust me with your sister?" Eduardo asked.

"My sister won’t make any bad choice. So, I trust my sister with you," Chrishan said, walking towards the door.

Eduardo watched him leave and leaned back on the couch. A heavy sigh slipped out of his lips.

"Tired?"

He heard a familiar voice and opened his eyes to see Maya in front of him.

"Do I look tired?"

"You’ve been up since 6:30", she said, and he sat up, adjusting his sitting position so she could sit close to him.

"I’m thinking about a lot of things. I have to ruin my grandfather’s company and reputation. Tell my father about Marcello and seal our marriage before heading to Italy," he said and widened his eyes as if he remembered something. "I guess you should invite your mother to Russia,"

"My mother? I’m not sure about that," Maya diverted her gaze.

He noticed that Maya never talked much about herself. Even if he was just using her as a fake wife to mask his perfect image, he wanted to know about her.

"Are you avoiding her?"

"She doesn’t care much about my brother and I. As long as we call her and let her know we’re alive, she never cares about our daily lives. But my grandma... I’ll have to show proof of my marriage. She might ask to meet you, but I know you’re busy," she explained, not sparing him a single glance.

"It’s not bad to meet her. You can head over to your Grandma and show her the marriage certificate. I’ll go with you to meet her once everything is over,"

"Thank you, Eduardo," she said. Her cheek flushed red as if it was the first time calling his name. She only called him Babe or other names.

He patted her hair with a smile. Then, the door burst open, and Luca walked into them smiling.

"Oh, am I interrupting?" He asked, standing by the door.

"What happened?" Eduardo asked, looking at Luca.

"My... My sister is here to see you," he said.

"Take her to the lobby, I’ll be there in a minute," Eduardo replied.

"Not you, Master,"

Luca shook his head and diverted his gaze to Maya.

"It’s the Madam,"

Maya tilted her head in confusion. She didn’t know who his sister was.

"Why?" Eduardo asked.

"It’s fine. I’ll just go to her," she stood up and walked out with Luca. Luca escorted Maya to the lobby.

On their way, she leaned closer to him.

"Who’s your sister?"

"Uhm, you might know her but... You just don’t know she’s my sister," Luca smiled weirdly.

They entered the lobby together, and Maya froze, seeing a familiar face.

’Ah, shit! It’s her!’

She remembered the lady she told to become independent if she wanted to attract Eduardo.

"Hello, nice to see..." Before she could complete her words, Nadia strutted toward her and slapped her hard on the cheek.

Luca shot his eyes wide open, wanting to yell at his sister, but Maya stopped him.

"It’s fine. Leave us, Luca," she said.

"But she..." He tried to speak but, got interrupted again.

"I said leave! We’re just going to have a girls’ talk," Maya smiled, assuring Luca. He frowned at his sister before leaving the lobby.

It was suddenly quiet and she turned to look at Nadia.

"Are you contented? Would you like to hit me more?" She asked.

"Hitting you more won’t give me Eduardo, would it?" Nadia smiled bitterly as if she was holding back her tears.

"I’m sorry," Maya spoke.

"You don’t seem sorry. You’ve gotten what I’ve always wanted, right? Where the hell is the bitch that claimed she had no feelings for him? You..." Nadia stopped talking, slipping her fingers through her hair. She sank into the sofa.

"I’m not here to discuss with you. Be careful... Thousands of Eduardo’s fan girls have their eyes on you. It’ll be easy for them to get rid of you. I’m not one of them, but I’ll not forgive you for what you did. Eddy made his choice and it was you... Congratulations,"

"You don’t seem happy for me," Maya tilted her head to the corner.

"No one will be happy for you. So enjoy it while it lasts," Nadia grabbed her purse and brushed past her. She was about to reach the door when Maya’s voice stopped her.

"This may sound rude because it’s a warning. But make sure you never hit me again. Next time you do, it’ll be the last day you use those hands of yours," Maya warned and watched her leave.

She clicked her tongue and folded her hands.

"I can’t believe a fellow lady hit me... A weak one at that,"

Luca followed Nadia outside but she ignored her brother.

"Wait!" he yelled at her, stopping her before she entered the car.

"What? Are you going to yell at me for hitting her?"

"You know exactly why I’m stopping you, Nadia. How could you hit her?"

"It’s none of your business. Go in there and do your job as a butler!" She shoved him aside and entered the car before driving away. He watched her before groaning in frustration.

"What the hell has gotten into her?" He asked himself.

.

Nadia wiped the tears from her eyes as she drove towards the estate exit. She hit the brakes, wondering what would have caused traffic inside the estate.

There were two ways to enter the Ivanov mansion, through the entrance and the exit.

She leaned on the steering, crying her eyes out until she heard a knock on the window. She didn’t want to answer whoever it was but they were persistent. She raised her head, revealing her eyes that were swollen and stained with black eyeshadow.

"What?!!" She yelled.

She lowered her gaze, staring at the handsome man in front of her.

"What do you what? I don’t have any money to give you!" She cried.

"Uh, miss? You crashed into my car," he said, holding back his laughter.

"Huh? Me?" She asked as if she hadn’t heard a thud earlier when she hit the brakes.

"Yes, you. Miss!" He replied.

"But it’s not my fault your car is parked in front of me," she sniffled, wiping her tears with the back of her hand.

"There’s been an accident in front of the gate. We were asked to leave the estate through the entrance. You were crying like a princess that you didn’t hear the information,"

Ignoring everything the stranger said from the beginning, the only word she grabbed was ’Princess’.

"Am I a princess?" She mumbled.

She suddenly burst into tears again, and Chrishan turned his face away, laughing hard.
