Chapter 301: Show us your strength

"Do you think you can call someone?" Dexter said, and Elliana looked at her bag in his hand.

In her moment of desperation, she could only call one person that she knew wouldn’t be affected by her period smell because she was a human, but wasn’t it embarrassing?

She shook her head and rushed to the restroom, tears brimming her eyes, and Dexter felt helpless.

Elliana sat on the toilet seat with its lid down and looked at her call log. She needed to think fast.

Most of the students were in their classes so it wouldn’t be so bad, but Dexter was right, she didn’t want to go through the embarrassment of having almost every student know she was on her period.

She dialed the main landline of the palace and waited for Miss Zoya to pick it up.

"Hello?" Miss Zoya said as soon as she picked up, and Elliana took a deep shaky breath.

"Is there any room in the palace from where no smell would go out or leak?" Elliana asked.

Miss Zoya who was busy with her chores didn’t expect the princess to call and then ask something like this.

However, she was quick-witted enough to understand what was going on.

"Do you have the things needed?" Miss Zoya’s tone immediately turned ten times softer, and Elliana shook her head.

"No, I don’t," she sobbed, and Miss Zoya’s heart broke at her crying.

It looked like this was the first time the princess was having her period near the vampires and didn’t know what to do.

"Sir is in University, you can -"

"No! Not him!" Elliana.

"The car will be there in 20 minutes," Miss Zoya said, and Elliana nodded before ending the call.

Rather than going to her class, she escaped the building and rushed to the backside of the forest, feeling a weird kind of annoyance building inside her. It was as if her hormones were playing with her mood and powers, and they were going haywire inside her.

She sat near the lake before she pulled the small bottle of scent-hiding perfume she carries in her bag and sprayed it on herself so that her scent could be minimalistic, and no roaming vampire would smell her.

It would work, but it had its drawbacks too, for example, it would only work for thirty minutes at most, and she would have to spray herself again. She only had enough to do it twice and she only used it once.

After forty minutes, Elliana was lying on her bed with her gaze focused on the ceiling.

"Do you need anything, Princess?" Miss Zoya asked, and Elliana looked at her.

"You are a vampire, Miss Zoya. What does my blood scent smell like?" Elliana asked absentmindedly.

"It’s not bad, Miss. In fact, it doesn’t make a difference. It surely won’t make people haywire. You can move around the palace without a problem. The guards might not be used to it, but you are a human, and they should understand it, just like we all will. There’s nothing to be ashamed of," Miss Zoya tried to ease the girl’s nervousness, and Elliana smiled before nodding.

"Please close the door when you leave," Elliana said and the caretaker nodded.

Once the door was closed, Elliana quickly sat and pulled out her phone from her pocket before messaging her friends that she returned home due to the emergency.

She wasn’t feeling easy. This was the first time her emotions were more focused on being mischievous rather than being sad like they used to be. Like she wanted to play and have some kind of adventure.

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath.

She stood from her place and bolted the door before calling Nathaniel.

"Hello, sweetheart," Nathaniel’s voice immediately came as he waited for her to say something.

Nathaniel, who was in the middle of the meeting with the school teachers, looked at the phone call before quirking his brows when she didn’t say anything.

Maybe she dialed it accidentally? He thought before ending the call.

Nathaniel looked at the teachers before nodding at them to continue the meeting and speak what they were trying to ask earlier.

"So what you are trying to say is that we don’t have to train her to increase her powers but train her to get her powers in control and decrease their aura and anger inside them?" The teacher asked, and the Dean hummed while Nathaniel looked at other teachers one by one who was being wary of his presence.

And why wouldn’t they be? He was the infamous mixed-breed prince who was known for his cold nature and unyielding behavior.

Seeing him here was indeed a shock, but what was more shocking was that he had come here to admit a disciple of his own.

Yes. That’s what Nathaniel introduced Elliana as. Even the dean didn’t know the entire truth about who this girl was, but seeing how all the powerful witches were present and involved, he didn’t dare take the matter lightly.

"So is there anyone willing to teach this kind of student and add it to their class?" The dean asked so they could volunteer themselves.

Every teacher had a different subject and expertise in this school. Some help students gain control over their aura and reduce it, some help them channel their energy to a particular part of the body to heal the wounds and make it stronger, some train students in the elements and how to use them while some teach them about spells and the correct way to chant them.

This was one of the toughest and highest-ranking schools in the white witch world.

Everyone was wary of this student. It has never happened before that the highest-class witches would rather come here and give them a student like this.

There were many weird things regarding the scenario. First, why was Nathaniel not teaching that student himself, anyone can make enough time to teach one student at least.

Second, why were they saying that a mere eighteen-year-old girl was this powerful because it was impossible until someone gave their energies to her?

Third, why were all the leaders involved and wasn’t it weird that her shortcoming was her scent?

The teachers looked at each other as if hoping someone would speak, but when no one did, one of them stood from the seat and looked at Nathaniel.

"Can we see her before we make up our minds? We need to know what kind of person we would be dealing with," the teacher said, and Nathaniel hummed.

"Fair enough. Every student has to go through this. They interact with the teachers in a private room so that the teachers can vote and see which class would be better for them," the dean said, and Nathaniel sighed.

He clicked his fingers after he ensured Elliana was alone in her room.

"This is the girl we are talking about," he said, and everyone looked at the girl on the screen who was looking at her phone with a dejected look.

"She looks sad," one of the teachers said.

"I know, right?" Nathaniel mumbled, not liking the expression on her face before he dialed her number.

Everyone watched her eyes beaming when she looked at Nathaniel’s number.

Nathaniel felt his heart skipping at his innocent smile.

"Hello?"

"You called earlier, sweetheart," Nathaniel said, and they saw her jumping on the bed before she sprawled her legs in an unladylike manner. Nathaniel sighed before blurring the rest of the screen apart from her face.

"I feel like... like mischievous. My periods came. Do you know what a period in humans is? It’s when you bleed from -"

"I know what menstruation is, sweetheart," Nathaniel massaged his forehead, his cheeks turning red.

"Oh...so yeah, I am in a mood swings phase, and I want to take them out. Something feels weird inside me. Are you somewhere nice? Call me there na. I will behave, I promise," Elliana drew circles in the air, giggling at the golden circles that were forming.

"I am dealing with your teachers. Your classes will start next week. You’ll have to come here to help your teachers choose you. That will decide which class you’ll go to. Since you are new we have decided to put you in fifth grade," Nathaniel explained to her patiently.

Everyone was surprised. They have never seen the witch prince talking to anyone so politely. It was almost as if he was coaxing a child, and though they agreed that the girl was too cute, was it enough to entice that kind of feeling in a dangerous prince like that?

"Okayieeeee... so call me. Like now," Elliana sat in her place, and Nathaniel sighed before he clicked his fingers and closed the screen before calling where they were.

Elliana looked around, her powers immediately felt suppressed, and she held Nathaniel’s cufflinks, making the man look at her with raised brows.

What has gotten into her? Why was she acting like a cute little scared rabbit? Wasn’t she the same girl, who burnt a forest without an issue? He thought.

"Student Elliana, why don’t you introduce yourself to us?" One of the teachers asked her politely to make the girl feel comfortable.

Elliana smiled and nodded.

"Hi, I am Elliana Heart, the daughter of -"

"Haha, that’s not what we were talking about. What we meant was, show us your powers," the teacher said, and Elliana looked at Nathaniel, unsure

"How do I do that?" She asked.

"Are you sure Mr. Nathaniel? Is this girl really ready to be a fifth-grade student?" One of the male teachers asked with a scoff, and Nathaniel looked at the girl when he saw her narrowing her eyes.

"Come here. Don’t be mad," Nathaniel pulled her in for a hug.

"She will be crushed. We don’t want her to suffer," another teacher said.

"What do you want me to do?" Elliana asked.

"Let’s check your strength first," The teacher said, and the dean smiled at the innocent-looking girl who was a perfect devil deep inside.

Dean -"..." These stupid people. Go ahead. I am out of here. Don’t involve me in this. He shrugged and left the room.
