The Master of Beasts-Chapter 714 - 213: Newborn Fiend
The pain of the divine sense splitting made Chen Jiuge's body involuntarily tremble, but fortunately, the time required was very short, just a moment.
Looking at the divine sense in his palm, emitting a gentle glow, the immortal power within Chen Jiuge surged, circulating rapidly within, and a misty gray gas enveloped the divine sense.
The divine sense, which originally had a hint of blue, was instantly cleansed by this gas, turning pure white.
This signified that any other elements contained within the divine sense had been completely purified.
"Go!"
With a wave of his hand, he injected this wisp of divine sense into the blood egg and gestured towards Chaos: "It's ready, hold it in check. With the divine sense, it will soon come into being!"
"Okay, leave it to me!" Chaos nodded slowly.
"Little Treasure, it's time to work!"
Chaos gently spoke to the Gu Worm in his palm.
"Yo-oo"
After making a strange sound, Little Treasure, which had grown to the size of an adult's index finger, stood upright, and the large eye on its forehead, which was bigger than the others, slightly opened, shooting a purple beam toward the blood egg.
"Buzz buzz"
A few breaths later, the surface of the originally scarlet blood egg began to show a hint of black-purple.
"Crack"
"So fast?" Chen Jiuge looked at the cracked surface of the blood egg with some surprise.
"Roar!"
An evil ghost about the height of a seven or eight-year-old child stepped out from the blood egg.
With red skin, a small red horn, and even red nails, the entire evil ghost seemed to have been fished out from blood. The only difference was the purple hue in its eyes.
Chen Jiuge quietly watched the evil ghost, making no move.
After letting out a few roars, the evil ghost surveyed the person in front of it, its purple eyes showing a trace of struggle.
Chaos was continuously speaking to Little Treasure beside him.
Little Treasure was also trying hard to respond, its small body tightly tensed, looking very diligent.
"Roar!"
The conflict in its mind caused the evil ghost to let out a painful howl, rolling around on the ground.
Small fists pounded the floor of the chamber, leaving pits, which shocked Chen Jiuge.
"To have the cultivation of a One Flower Heavenly Immortal right from birth is a bit exaggerated!" Confusion filled Chen Jiuge's eyes. If evil ghosts were born with such cultivation, how could other races have struggled to overthrow the era of evil ghosts?
"It's due to the Chaos Pearl!" Chaos said gravely.
Little Treasure's control had reached its limit. Due to the presence of Chaos Qi, this evil ghost underwent some mutations, or rather, evolution.
Ordinary evil ghosts usually have blue or dark cyan skin, but the one in front of him was entirely crimson. Even with Little Treasure's control, it remained so fierce, resisting the Gu Worm under Little Treasure's influence, exceeding expectations!
"Screech"
The sharp red nails left five deep marks on the ground, and the struggle in its eyes slowly faded, replaced by an extremely bewildered look.
"Father? Mother?"
The evil ghost called slowly towards Chen Jiuge and Chaos.
"Did it succeed?" Chen Jiuge and Chaos exchanged a glance, full of excitement.
"Father, Mother."
The evil ghost called again, this time much clearer, with a hint of emotion in its tone.
"But isn't that term a bit inappropriate?" Chaos shyly remarked.
This expression left Chen Jiuge a bit stunned. An artifact spirit showing shyness, given your age, you're many times older than my ancestors!
Ignoring the strangely behaving Chaos, Chen Jiuge took advantage of the momentum to further examine the evil ghost.
He finally reached a somewhat astonishing conclusion: the evil ghost had the cultivation of a One Flower Heavenly Immortal, its physical body comparable to a Two Flowers Celestial Immortal's body cultivation, and mana that far surpassed cultivators of the same level, not to mention its exclusive evil ghost divine skills and inherited close combat abilities. It was born as a remarkably powerful warrior!
"If subsequent evil ghosts possessed similar strength, or even just half, perhaps Thunder God Temple could use them for probing." Chen Jiuge mused thoughtfully.
Though Chen Jiuge often treated spiritual beasts as tools, even erasing the consciousness of some destined to be cannon fodder, it didn't mean he lacked affection for those he nurtured.
If evil ghosts could replace the role of spiritual beasts, that would be perfect.
After all, spiritual beasts often had their deficiencies, and those not reaching the Heavenly Immortal Realm had low intelligence. Humanoid races, however, even the most brutal evil ghosts, were far more intelligent!
Unfortunately, Chen Jiuge's plans fell through. The Chaos-brought evil ghost bloodlines were abundant, but those containing evil ghost souls were scarce. After nurturing nearly a hundred evil ghosts, the evil ghost souls were depleted.
Besides the initial mutant evil ghost, most of the remaining evil ghosts were unmutated, and even those with mutations had only partial variations, still significantly different from the first.
"Roar!"
Two evil ghosts, not long since their emergence, suddenly grappled and fought fiercely, their deadly moves shocking Chen Jiuge!
"Born ferocious indeed, it's no wonder they're known as the most savage race!"
Ultimately, Chen Jiuge intervened to stop the two evil ghosts, as he had no choice. One evil ghost had both arms torn off, and its chest was pierced with a deep hole.
If Chen Jiuge hadn't acted in time, its heart might have been ripped out, beyond saving!
"Chaos, I'll leave these fellows to your guidance. They don't need to be overly obedient, just understanding some basic common sense is enough." Chen Jiuge commented, troubled by the chaotic scene.
Chaos, lifting an evil ghost that was slightly shorter than itself in each hand, remarked wearily: "I've never raised children either!"
"Believe in yourself, you can do it!" Offering some encouragement, Chen Jiuge quickly slipped away.
Leaving Chaos helplessly watching over the chaotic newborn evil ghosts!
"All of you, stop it this instant!"
The evil ghosts turned their heads in unison to look at Chaos, the scene quietening for three seconds before returning to chaos.
"Just as I thought, children certainly need discipline to behave!"
Chaos swung the long whip in its hand menacingly.
...........
Star Moon City
Chen Jiuge wasn't alone, having brought the first evil ghost to be born with him.
"Father, is this your territory? Are they all your slaves? How come they look a bit different from me?" The evil ghost, named Chi Hong, inquired with some curiosity.
"Chi Hong, this is my domain, but they aren't my slaves. They're my companions, and with their help, I've been able to possess such a large territory!" Chen Jiuge explained earnestly.
"Companions? Do they share in the food from the territory too?" Chi Hong bared its sharp canine teeth slightly.
"Don't be so aggressive, it's just food, I don't lack it in the least." Chen Jiuge frowned slightly.
In the evil ghost's inherited memory, food, territory, and slaves were of utmost significance, not to be casually touched by anyone outside of immediate family.
"Come with me!"
Chen Jiuge intended to show Chi Hong around Star Moon City more, attempting to reshape its worldview, though reality proved his efforts futile.
Legacy memories ingrained in one's bloodline since ancient times couldn't be reshaped in a short span.
In just three days, Chi Hong had injured dozens of loose cultivators dining in restaurants, as it viewed them as thieves for consuming in its territory.
After extensive education, Chen Jiuge could barely make Chi Hong accept the concept of trade.
"Father, why can't we just capture them all to work for us? There's no need to give them those coins!" Chi Hong stated blandly.
"Because we aren't the strongest!"
"The strongest? Does becoming the strongest allow us to do so?" Chi Hong asked in confusion.
"I suppose so, though I don't know for sure." Chen Jiuge shook his head.
"Father, isn't there a Star Moon Guard specifically to oppose enemies in the city? I want to join!"
Chen Jiuge was taken aback: "How do you know that?"
"Sister Mo Yu told me, Father. I'll work hard, and I'll conquer an even larger territory for you!" Chi Hong stated earnestly.
"You're still young, no need to rush!" Chen Jiuge frowned, still concerned about introducing Chi Hong to the Star Moon Guard without restructuring its understanding first.
Chi Hong shook its head: "Weren't those seemingly formidable cultivators also not my match?"
"Please trust me, Father!"
Chen Jiuge, a bit at a loss, eventually said: "Alright!"
