The Mighty Mage-Chapter 670: End
And suddenly, she started laughing.
"You two! I knew it! You thought you could hide it from me forever?"
Both of them looked relieved and embarrassed.
Gu Jin wiped a tear from her eye, still laughing. "I should have known earlier. The way you two looked at each other, it was so obvious!"
Liang Bao hid her face in her hands, and Gu Jishi looked like he didn't know whether to smile or apologize.
Gu Jin leaned forward and grinned. "Well, congratulations! I approve of this relationship."
Liang Bao's head shot up, eyes wide. "You do?"
"Of course," Gu Jin said warmly. "You're both important to me. I can't imagine anyone better for each other."
Long Yifan, who had been driving, chuckled softly. "Looks like we'll be attending another wedding soon."
Gu Jin smiled at the thought.
After returning to the Gu family estate, Liang Bao and Gu Jishi finally decided it was time to make things official. Without hesitation, they announced their decision to the entire family.
The Gu family, of course, was overjoyed. The house instantly turned lively as everyone began preparing for the wedding, decorations, invitations, music, and food.
The entire mansion glowed with excitement, laughter echoing through the halls.
Gu Jin had long grown used to attending weddings, but this one felt different.
Perhaps it was because everyone she cared for seemed happy.
She started observing the people around her more carefully, her sharp eyes following every subtle gesture. After the last surprise of her eldest brother and Liang Bao being together, she decided to find all the hidden couples under her gaze.
Until now, she had missed so many small things... connections, feelings, relationships happening right under her nose.
How could she have been so blind? She almost felt ashamed of her own cluelessness. This time, she swore she wouldn't be left behind again.
Then, her gaze landed on something unexpected and horrifyingly surprising.
Si Kai and Ying Yue were sitting unusually close, whispering, their faces glowing with quiet affection. Too close for just friends.
Gu Jin frowned. She remembered how those two always slipped away together in the past, claiming to be busy with some project.
She never thought much of it. But now, watching them laugh and lean toward each other, realization dawned, and her jaw nearly dropped.
She immediately turned toward Long Yifan, tugging at his sleeve.
"Tell me," she whispered. "Are Si Kai and Ying Yue… together?"
Long Yifan blinked at her in astonishment. "You noticed?"
Gu Jin almost fell to the ground. "What the... How does everyone know except me?!"
Long Yifan chuckled, clearly amused by her reaction.
"You're brilliant in alchemy and magic, but when it comes to romance, my dear wife, you might be the densest woman alive."
Gu Jin pouted and crossed her arms. "At least you could've told me!"
He shrugged, smiling.
"I wanted to see when you'd figure it out yourself. I'm actually proud, you're improving! Yesterday, you finally noticed Gu Jishi and Liang Bao. And today, you caught Si Kai and Ying Yue. That's progress."
Gu Jin glared at him, then slapped his arm lightly. "Progress, huh? Well, your reward is sleeping alone tonight. No cuddles for you!"
With that, she spun around and walked away, leaving Long Yifan speechless.
As he turned, he caught the sound of laughter behind him. It was Gu Jihu, standing with his hand holding a handsome young boy.
"Don't laugh too hard," Long Yifan warned, smirking. "Unless you want me to tell Jasmine about your past flings."
Gu Jihu froze, his grin fading instantly. Long Yifan grinned in satisfaction. "Thought so."
Shaking his head, he turned to look for his little daughter... his sweet angel, now four years old. Just thinking of her made him smile. She was the one who could always lift his mood.
He finally found her in the garden, surrounded by flowers and a few giggling children. The moment she saw him, she ran into his arms.
"Papa!" she squealed.
Long Yifan hugged her tightly, breathing in her soft scent. Gu Lingling, his little sunshine, looked exactly like Gu Jin: the same crimson eyes, the same heart-shaped face.
But her personality was gentler, more affectionate, just like her father's, or at least, that's what he liked to believe.
"What are you doing, my little star?" he asked softly.
"I was playing with my little brother Xiu!" Lingling chirped. Then, noticing the faint sadness in his eyes, she tilted her head. "Papa, why do you look sad?"
He sighed dramatically. "Your mother kicked me out of the room."
Lingling gasped, her little mouth forming an 'O'. Then she giggled and patted his cheek. "It's okay, Papa. You can sleep with me tonight! I'll even sing you a lullaby!"
Long Yifan couldn't help but laugh. "You really are my best decision ever."
He kissed her forehead. "Alright, deal. But only if you promise not to snore."
Lingling giggled again and nodded. "Okay! But now I want to play some more with my little brother!"
He set her down gently. "Go ahead, sweetheart. Have fun."
Once she ran off, Long Yifan returned to help with the wedding preparations. The family was busy, the air buzzing with excitement and chatter.
Later that evening, Lingling quietly tugged at Gu Jin's sleeve.
"Mother," she said in a sweet, coaxing tone, "can I sleep with you tonight?"
Gu Jin looked down, and her heart melted into a puddle. She pulled her daughter into her arms, kissing her soft cheeks.
"Of course, my little one. But why do you look so serious?"
Lingling only giggled and nuzzled against her. "Because I missed you, Mama."
Gu Jin couldn't help but smile and squeeze her tighter. "You're too cute for your own good."
That night, when Gu Jin entered Lingling's room, she noticed the lights were dim, and Long Yifan was already lying on the bed, seemingly asleep.
She assumed her daughter was in the bathroom, judging by the sound of running water.
Inside the bathroom, Long Yifan was actually thinking the same thing, that Lingling had entered. He smiled and quickly changed into his nightclothes.
But when he stepped out and saw Gu Jin standing there, both froze in surprise.
For a second, they just stared at each other, then burst out laughing.
Outside the door, a mischievous giggle echoed.
"Goodnight, Mama! Goodnight, Papa! You two can sleep together. I'm going to Cousin Lan's room and going to play with Xiu!"
Gu Jin covered her face, groaning. "That little rascal…"
Long Yifan chuckled, shaking his head. "Looks like we've been tricked by our own daughter."
Gu Lan, Jasmine and Gu Jihu's son, was older than Lingling and had always treated her like a precious little sister.
The two were inseparable, spending hours together as if they lived in their own tiny world.
There was also Gu Xiu, who was Gu Jin and Long Yifan's son and second child.
Sighing, Gu Jin turned toward the bed. "You can forget about touching me."
Long Yifan raised his hands in mock surrender. "Of course, my lady."
But as soon as he slipped under the blanket, he began inching closer. Inch by inch, warmth and silence filled the space between them.
By the end of the night, Gu Jin realized she truly couldn't resist him.
The next morning, the family gathered again as the wedding dates were finalized. Liang Bao and Gu Jishi's ceremony would take place soon, followed by another surprise.
During the celebrations, Gu Jin spotted them whispering together, clearly nervous. She raised an eyebrow and walked toward them with her arms crossed.
"Well," she began, "how long were you planning to keep your relationship a secret from me?"
Si Kai and Ying Yue froze. Their faces turned crimson. After a tense pause, Si Kai scratched his neck awkwardly. "We… were just waiting for the right time."
Gu Jin's expression softened slightly, though she still gave them a pointed look.
"Sister," Si Kai finally said, stepping forward. "I'm serious about Ying Yue. I want to marry her."
Gu Jin blinked, then burst into laughter.
"Oh, heavens. You could've told me earlier! I would've arranged your wedding before your elder brother's! What took you two so long?"
Both Si Kai and Ying Yue let out nervous laughs, visibly relieved.
They had expected Gu Jin to scold them, or worse, test them, but instead, she looked genuinely delighted.
"Well then," Gu Jin said, smiling warmly, "since you've already decided, there's no need to delay. After Jishi and Liang Bao's ceremony, we'll hold yours."
The couple exchanged bright smiles and bowed deeply. "Thank you, Sister."
Gu Jin waved them off playfully. "Don't thank me yet. Wait until I make you both dance at your own wedding."
Everyone laughed.
Soon, the house filled with music again, two weddings back to back, laughter around every corner, and the Gu family glowing with happiness.
The two weddings were unexpected, but at the same time, the most unexpected one was Gu Jichun's!
The woman had ended up marrying Bai Yu! One of Gu Jin's alchemist friends. He was also one of the alchemists who had participated with Gu Jin in the national alchemy competition.
This time, it was Gu Jin who had noticed them first and had warned Bai Yu repeatedly that if he dared to mistreat Gu Jichun, Gu Jin would kill him.
Bai Yu was shy and timid by nature; however, whenever it came to Gu Jichun, at least he had the backbone and repeatedly assured Gu Jin and the Gu Family.
Mr. Gu and Mrs. Gu saw their family and smiled. Even Gu Jin was satisfied with the status quo. Surrounded by her friends, family, and children.
Later, when her children ascended as gods too, Gu Jin, the Gu family, and Long Yifan, along with their respective spouses, indeed went on dimensional tours!
.........
The End.
